2 Koenige 13

1 Im dreiundzwanzigsten Jahre Joas', des Sohnes Ahasjas, des Königs von Juda, wurde Joahas, der Sohn Jehus, König über Israel zu Samaria und regierte siebzehn Jahre.

In the three and twentieth yeere of Ioash the sonne of Ahaziah King of Iudah, Iehoahaz the sonne of Iehu began to reigne ouer Israel in Samaria, and he reigned seuenteene yeere.

2 Und er tat, was böse war in den Augen Jehovas; und er wandelte den Sünden Jerobeams nach, des Sohnes Nebats, wodurch er Israel sündigen gemacht hatte: er wich nicht davon.

And he did euil in the sight of the Lord, and followed the sinnes of Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat, which made Israel to sinne, and departed not therefrom.

3 Da entbrannte der Zorn Jehovas wider Israel; und er gab sie in die Hand Hasaels, des Königs von Syrien, und in die Hand Ben-Hadads, des Sohnes Hasaels, alle Tage hindurch.

And the Lord was angry with Israel, and deliuered them into the hand of Hazael King of Aram, and into the hand of Ben-hadad the sonne of Hazael, all his dayes.

4 Und Joahas flehte Jehova an; und Jehova hörte auf ihn, denn er sah den Druck Israels, denn der König von Syrien drückte sie.

And Iehoahaz besought the Lord, and the Lord heard him: for he saw the trouble of Israel, wherewith the King of Aram troubled them.

5 (Und Jehova gab Israel einen Retter, und sie kamen aus der Hand der Syrer heraus; und die Kinder Israel wohnten in ihren Zelten wie zuvor.

(And the Lord gaue Israel a deliuerer, so that they came out from vnder the subiection of the Aramites. And the children of Israel dwelt in their tents as before time.

6 Dennoch wichen sie nicht von den Sünden des Hauses Jerobeams, wodurch er Israel sündigen gemacht hatte: sie wandelten darin; auch die Aschera blieb in Samaria stehen.)

Neuerthelesse they departed not from the sinnes of the house of Ieroboam which made Israel sinne, but walked in them. euen the groue also remayned still in Samaria)

7 Denn er hatte dem Joahas kein Volk übriggelassen, als nur fünfzig Reiter und zehn Wagen und zehntausend Mann zu Fuß; denn der König von Syrien hatte sie vernichtet und sie gemacht wie den Staub, den man zertritt.

For he had left of the people to Iehoahaz but fiftie horsemen, and tenne charets, and tenne thousand footemen, because the King of Aram had destroyed them, and made them like dust beaten to pouder.

8 Und das Übrige der Geschichte Joahas' und alles, was er getan hat, und seine Macht, ist das nicht geschrieben in dem Buche der Chronika der Könige von Israel?

Concerning the rest of the actes of Iehoahaz and all that he did, and his valiant deedes, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?

9 Und Joahas legte sich zu seinen Vätern, und man begrub ihn zu Samaria. Und Joas, sein Sohn, ward König an seiner Statt.

And Iehoahaz slept with his fathers, and they buried him in Samaria, and Ioash his sonne reigned in his steade.

10 Im siebenunddreißigsten Jahre Joas', des Königs von Juda, wurde Joas, der Sohn des Joahas, König über Israel zu Samaria und regierte sechzehn Jahre.

In the seuen and thirtieth yere of Ioash King of Iudah began Iehoash the sonne of Iehoahaz to reigne ouer Israel in Samaria, and reigned sixteene yeere,

11 Und er tat, was böse war in den Augen Jehovas; er wich nicht von allen Sünden Jerobeams, des Sohnes Nebats, wodurch er Israel sündigen gemacht hatte: er wandelte darin.

And did euil in the sight of the Lord: for he departed not from all the sinnes of Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat that made Israel to sinne, but he walked therein.

12 Und das Übrige der Geschichte Joas' und alles, was er getan, und seine Macht, wie er mit Amazja, dem König von Juda, gestritten hat, ist das nicht geschrieben in dem Buche der Chronika der Könige von Israel?

Concerning the rest of the actes of Ioash and all that he did, and his valiant deedes, and how he fought against Amaziah King of Iudah, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?

13 Und Joas legte sich zu seinen Vätern, und Jerobeam setzte sich auf seinen Thron; und Joas wurde zu Samaria begraben bei den Königen von Israel.

And Ioash slept with his fathers, and Ieroboam sate vpon his seate: and Ioash was buryed in Samaria among the Kings of Israel.

14 Und Elisa erkrankte an seiner Krankheit, an welcher er starb. Und Joas, der König von Israel, kam zu ihm herab und weinte über seinem Angesicht und sprach: Mein Vater, mein Vater! Wagen Israels und seine Reiter!

When Elisha fell sicke of his sickenesse whereof he dyed, Ioash the King of Israel came downe vnto him, and wept vpon his face, and sayd, O my father, my father, the charet of Israel, and the horsemen of the same.

15 Da sprach Elisa zu ihm: Hole Bogen und Pfeile. Und er holte ihm Bogen und Pfeile.

Then Elisha sayde vnto him, Take a bowe and arrowes. And he tooke vnto him bowe and arrowes.

16 Und er sprach zu dem König von Israel: Lege deine Hand auf den Bogen. Da legte er seine Hand darauf: und Elisa tat seine Hände auf die Hände des Königs.

And he sayde to the King of Israel, Put thine hand vpon the bowe. And he put his hand vpon it. And Elisha put his hands vpon the Kings hands,

17 Und er sprach: Öffne das Fenster gegen Morgen. Und er öffnete es. Und Elisa sprach: Schieße! Und er schoß. Und er sprach: Ein Pfeil der Rettung von Jehova und ein Pfeil der Rettung wider die Syrer! Und so wirst du die Syrer zu Aphek schlagen bis zur Vernichtung.

And saide, Open the windowe Eastward. And when he had opened it, Elisha said, Shoote. And he shot. And he sayd, Beholde the arrowe of the Lordes deliuerance and the arrowe of deliuerance against Aram: for thou shalt smite the Aramites in Aphek, till thou hast consumed them.

18 Und er sprach: Nimm die Pfeile. Und er nahm sie. Und er sprach zu dem König von Israel: Schlage auf die Erde! Und er schlug dreimal und hielt inne.

Againe he said, Take the arrowes. And he tooke them. And he sayde vnto the King of Israel, Smite the ground. And he smote thrise, and ceased.

19 Da ward der Mann Gottes zornig über ihn und sprach: Du hättest fünf-oder sechsmal schlagen sollen, dann würdest du die Syrer bis zur Vernichtung geschlagen haben; nun aber wirst du die Syrer dreimal schlagen.

Then the man of God was angry with him, and sayde, Thou shouldest haue smitten fiue or sixe times, so thou shouldest haue smitten Aram, till thou haddest consumed it, where nowe thou shalt smite Aram but thrise.

20 Und Elisa starb, und man begrub ihn. Und es kamen Streifscharen der Moabiter in das Land, als das Jahr anfing.

So Elisha dyed, and they buryed him. And certaine bandes of the Moabites came into the land that yeere.

21 Und es geschah, als sie einen Mann begruben, siehe, da sahen sie die Streifschar, und sie warfen den Mann in das Grab Elisas; und als der Mann hineinkam und die Gebeine Elisas berührte, da wurde er lebendig und erhob sich auf seine Füße.

And as they were burying a man, behold, they saw the souldiers: therfore they cast the man into the sepulchre of Elisha. And when the man was downe, and touched the bones of Elisha, he reuiued and stoode vpon his feete.

22 Und Hasael, der König von Syrien, bedrückte Israel alle Tage des Joahas.

But Hazael King of Aram vexed Israel all the dayes of Iehoahaz.

23 Aber Jehova erwies ihnen Gnade und erbarmte sich ihrer und wandte sich ihnen zu, wegen seines Bundes mit Abraham, Isaak und Jakob; und er wollte sie nicht verderben und warf sie nicht von seinem Angesicht weg bis dahin.

Therefore the Lord had mercy on them and pitied them, and had respect vnto them because of his couenant with Abraham, Izhak, and Iaakob, and would not destroy them, neither cast he them from him as yet.

24 Und Hasael, der König von Syrien, starb. Und Ben-Hadad, sein Sohn, ward König an seiner Statt.

So Hazael the King of Aram dyed: and Ben-hadad his sonne reigned in his stead.

25 Da nahm Joas, der Sohn des Joahas, aus der Hand Ben-Hadads, des Sohnes Hasaels, die Städte wieder, welche dieser aus der Hand seines Vaters Joahas im Streit genommen hatte. Dreimal schlug ihn Joas und brachte die Städte Israels wieder zurück.

Therefore Iehoash the sonne of Iehoahaz returned, and tooke out of the hand of Ben-hadad the sonne of Hazael the cities which he had taken away by warre out of the hand of Iehoahaz his father: for three times did Ioash beate him, and restored the cities vnto Israel.
