1 Und so war der König Salomo König über ganz Israel.

And King Solomon is king over all Israel,

2 Und dies sind die Obersten, die er hatte: Asarja, der Sohn Zadoks, war der Priester;

and these [are] the heads whom he has: Azariah son of Zadok [is] the priest;

3 Elichoreph und Achija, die Söhne Schischas, waren Schreiber; Josaphat, der Sohn Ahiluds, war Geschichtsschreiber;

Elihoreph and Ahiah sons of Shisha [are] scribes; Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud [is] remembrancer;

4 und Benaja, der Sohn Jojadas, war über das Heer; und Zadok und Abjathar waren Priester;

and Benaiah son of Jehoiada [is] over the host; and Zadok and Abiathar [are] priests;

5 und Asarja, der Sohn Nathans, war über die Aufseher; und Sabut, der Sohn Nathans, war Krondiener, des Königs Freund;

and Azariah son of Nathan [is] over the officers; and Zabud son of Nathan [is] minister, friend of the king;

6 und Achischar war über das Haus, und Adoniram, der Sohn Abdas, über die Fron.

and Ahishar [is] over the household, and Adoniram son of Abda [is] over the tribute.

7 Und Salomo hatte zwölf Aufseher über ganz Israel, und sie versorgten den König und sein Haus; einen Monat im Jahre lag jedem die Versorgung ob.

And Solomon has twelve officers over all Israel, and they have sustained the king and his household—a month in the year is on each one for sustenance;

8 Und dies sind ihre Namen: Ben-Hur im Gebirge Ephraim;

and these [are] their names: Ben-Hur in the hill-country of Ephraim;

9 Ben-Deker in Makaz und in Schaalbim und Beth-Semes und Elon-Beth-Hanan;

Ben-Dekar in Makaz, and Shaalbim, and Beth-Shemesh, and Elon-Beth-Hanan;

10 Ben-Hesed in Arubboth: Er hatte Soko und das ganze Land Hepher.

Ben-Hesed, in Aruboth, has Sochoh and all the land of Hepher;

11 Ben-Abinadab hatte das ganze Hügelgebiet von Dor; Taphath, die Tochter Salomos, war sein Weib.

Ben-Abinadab [has] all the elevation of Dor; Taphath daughter of Solomon became his wife;

12 Baana, der Sohn Ahiluds, hatte Taanak und Megiddo und ganz Beth-Schean, das neben Zarethan liegt, unterhalb Jisreel, von Beth-Schean bis Abel-Mehola, bis jenseits Jokmeam.

Baana Ben-Ahilud [has] Taanach and Megiddo, and all Beth-Shean, which [is] by Zartanah beneath Jezreel, from Beth-Shean to Abel-Meholah, to beyond Jokneam;

13 Ben-Geber in Ramoth-Gilead; er hatte die Dörfer Jairs, des Sohnes Manasses, die in Gilead sind; er hatte den Landstrich Argob, der in Basan ist, sechzig große Städte mit Mauern und ehernen Riegeln.

Ben-Geber, in Ramoth-Gilead, has the small towns of Jair son of Manasseh, which [are] in Gilead; he has a portion of Argob that [is] in Bashan—sixty great cities [with] wall and bronze bar;

14 Achinadab, der Sohn Iddos, in Machanaim;

Ahinadab son of Iddo [has] Mahanaim;

15 Achimaaz in Naphtali; auch er hatte Basmath, die Tochter Salomos, zum Weibe genommen;

Ahimaaz [is] in Naphtali; he also has taken Basemath daughter of Solomon for a wife;

16 Baana, der Sohn Husais, in Aser und Bealoth;

Baanah Ben-Hushai [is] in Asher, and in Aloth;

17 Josaphat, der Sohn Paruachs, in Issaschar;

Jehoshaphat Ben-Paruah [is] in Issachar;

18 Simei, der Sohn Elas, in Benjamin;

Shimei Ben-Elah [is] in Benjamin;

19 Geber, der Sohn Uris, im Lande Gilead, dem Lande Sihons, des Königs der Amoriter, und Ogs, des Königs von Basan; und nur ein Aufseher war in diesem Lande.

Geber Ben-Uri [is] in the land of Gilead, the land of Sihon king of the Amorite, and of Og king of Bashan: and [he is] the one officer who [is] in the land.

20 Juda und Israel waren zahlreich, wie der Sand, der am Meere ist, an Menge; sie aßen und tranken und waren fröhlich.

Judah and Israel [are] many, as the sand that [is] by the sea for multitude, eating and drinking and rejoicing.

21 Und Salomo war Herrscher über alle Königreiche, von dem Strome an bis zu dem Lande der Philister und bis zu der Grenze Ägyptens; sie brachten Geschenke und dienten Salomo alle Tage seines Lebens.

And Solomon has been ruling over all the kingdoms, from the River [to] the land of the Philistines and to the border of Egypt: they are bringing a present near, and serving Solomon, all [the] days of his life.

22 Und der Speisebedarf Salomos für einen Tag war: dreißig Kor Feinmehl und sechzig Kor Mehl,

And the provision of Solomon for one day is thirty cors of flour, and sixty cors of meal,

23 zehn gemästete Rinder und zwanzig Weiderinder und hundert Schafe; ohne die Hirsche und Gazellen und Damhirsche und das gemästete Geflügel.

ten fat oxen, and twenty feeding oxen, and one hundred sheep, apart from deer, and roe, and fallow-deer, and fatted beasts of the stalls,

24 Denn er herrschte über das ganze Land diesseit des Stromes, von Tiphsach bis Gasa, über alle Könige diesseit des Stromes; und er hatte Frieden auf allen Seiten ringsum.

for he is ruling over all beyond the river, from Tiphsah and to Gaza, over all the kings beyond the River, and he has peace from all his surrounding servants.

25 Und Juda und Israel wohnten in Sicherheit, ein jeder unter seinem Weinstock und unter seinem Feigenbaum, von Dan bis Beerseba, alle Tage Salomos.

And Judah dwells—and Israel—in confidence, each under his vine, and under his fig tree, from Dan even to Beer-Sheba, all the days of Solomon.

26 Und Salomo hatte vierzigtausend Stände für Rosse zu seinen Wagen, und zwölftausend Reiter.

And Solomon has forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen.

27 Und jene Aufseher versorgten den König Salomo und alle, die zum Tische des Königs Salomo kamen, ein jeder in seinem Monat; sie ließen es an nichts fehlen.

And these officers have sustained King Solomon and everyone drawing near to the table of King Solomon, each [in] his month; they let nothing be lacking.

28 Und die Gerste und das Stroh für die Rosse und für die Renner brachten sie an den Ort, wo er war, ein jeder nach seiner Vorschrift.

And the barley and the straw, for horses and for dromedaries, they bring to the place where they are, each according to his ordinance.

29 Und Gott gab Salomo Weisheit und sehr große Einsicht, und Weite des Herzens, wie der Sand, der am Ufer des Meeres ist.

And God gives very much wisdom and understanding to Solomon, and breadth of heart, as the sand that [is] on the edge of the sea;

30 Und die Weisheit Salomos war größer als die Weisheit aller Söhne des Ostens und als alle Weisheit Ägyptens.

and the wisdom of Solomon is greater than the wisdom of any of the sons of the east, and [greater] than all the wisdom of Egypt;

31 Und er war weiser als alle Menschen, als Ethan, der Esrachiter, und Heman und Kalkol und Darda, die Söhne Machols. Und sein Name war unter allen Nationen ringsum.

and he is wiser than all men, [wiser] than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, and Chalcol, and Darda, sons of Mahol, and his name is in all the surrounding nations.

32 Und er redete dreitausend Sprüche, und seiner Lieder waren tausendundfünf.

And he speaks three thousand allegories, and his songs [are] one thousand and five;

33 Und er redete über die Bäume, von der Zeder, die auf dem Libanon ist, bis zum Ysop, der an der Mauer herauswächst; und er redete über das Vieh und über die Vögel und über das Gewürm und über die Fische.

and he speaks concerning the trees, from the cedar that [is] in Lebanon, even to the hyssop that is coming out in the wall, and he speaks concerning the livestock, and concerning the bird, and concerning the creeping things, and concerning the fishes,

34 Und man kam aus allen Völkern, um die Weisheit Salomos zu hören, von allen Königen der Erde her, die von seiner Weisheit gehört hatten.

and there come out [those] of all the peoples to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all kings of the earth who have heard of his wisdom.
