1 Und sie blieben drei Jahre ruhig; es war kein Krieg zwischen Syrien und Israel.
And they continued three yeere without warre betweene Aram and Israel.
2 Und es geschah im dritten Jahre, da kam Josaphat, der König von Juda, zu dem König von Israel herab.
And in the third yeere did Iehoshaphat the King of Iudah come downe to ye King of Israel.
3 Und der König von Israel sprach zu seinen Knechten: Wisset ihr nicht, daß Ramoth-Gilead unser ist? Und wir bleiben still und nehmen es nicht aus der Hand des Königs von Syrien?
(Then the King of Israel saide vnto his seruants, Knowe yee not that Ramoth Gilead was ours? and wee stay, and take it not out of ye hand of the King of Aram?)
4 Und er sprach zu Josaphat: Willst du mit mir nach Ramoth-Gilead in den Streit ziehen? Und Josaphat sprach zu dem König von Israel: Ich will sein wie du, mein Volk wie dein Volk, meine Rosse wie deine Rosse!
And he sayde vnto Iehoshaphat, Wilt thou goe with mee to battel against Ramoth Gilead? And Iehoshaphat saide vnto the King of Israel, I am as thou art, my people as thy people, and mine horses as thine horses.
5 Und Josaphat sprach zu dem König von Israel: Befrage doch heute das Wort Jehovas.
Then Iehoshaphat saide vnto the King of Israel, Aske counsaile, I pray thee, of the Lord to day.
6 Da versammelte der König von Israel die Propheten, bei vierhundert Mann, und er sprach zu ihnen: Soll ich wider Ramoth-Gilead in den Streit ziehen, oder soll ich davon abstehen? Und sie sprachen: Ziehe hinauf, und der Herr wird es in die Hand des Königs geben.
Then the King of Israel gathered the prophets vpon a foure hundreth men, and said vnto them, Shal I go against Ramoth Gilead to battel, or shall I let it alone? And they said, Go vp: for ye Lord shall deliuer it into the hands of the King.
7 Aber Josaphat sprach: Ist hier kein Prophet Jehovas mehr, daß wir durch ihn fragen?
And Iehoshaphat said, Is there here neuer a Prophet of the Lord more, that we might inquire of him?
8 Und der König von Israel sprach zu Josaphat: Es ist noch ein Mann da, um durch ihn Jehova zu befragen; aber ich hasse ihn, denn er weissagt nichts Gutes über mich, sondern nur Böses: Micha, der Sohn Jimlas. Und Josaphat sprach: Der König spreche nicht also!
And the King of Israel said vnto Iehoshaphat, There is yet one man (Michaiah the sonne of Imlah) by whom we may aske counsel of the Lord, but I hate him: for he doeth not prophecie good vnto me, but euill. And Iehoshaphat sayd, Let not the King say so.
9 Da rief der König von Israel einen Kämmerer und sprach: Bringe Micha, den Sohn Jimlas, eilends her!
Then the King of Israel called an Eunuche, and sayde, Call quickely Michaiah the sonne of Imlah.
10 Und der König von Israel und Josaphat, der König von Juda, saßen ein jeder auf seinem Throne, angetan mit königlichen Kleidern, auf einem freien Platze am Eingang des Tores von Samaria; und alle Propheten weissagten vor ihnen.
And the King of Israel and Iehoshaphat the King of Iudah sate either of them on his throne in their apparell in the voyde place at the entring in of the gate of Samaria, and all the prophets prophecied before them.
11 Und Zedekia, der Sohn Kenaanas, machte sich eiserne Hörner und sprach: So spricht Jehova: Mit diesen wirst du die Syrer stoßen, bis du sie vernichtet hast.
And Zidkiiah the sonne of Chenaanah made him hornes of yron, and sayd, Thus sayth the Lord, With these shalt thou push the Aramites, vntill thou hast consumed them.
12 Und alle Propheten weissagten ebenso und sprachen: Ziehe hinauf nach Ramoth-Gilead, und es wird dir gelingen; denn Jehova wird es in die Hand des Königs geben.
And all the prophets prophecied so, saying, Goe vp to Ramoth Gilead, and prosper: for the Lord shall deliuer it into the Kings hand.
13 Und der Bote, der hingegangen war, Micha zu rufen, redete zu ihm und sprach: Siehe doch, die Worte der Propheten verkündigen einstimmig dem König Gutes; laß doch dein Wort sein wie das Wort eines von ihnen und rede Gutes.
And the messenger that was gone to call Michaiah spake vnto him, saying, Beholde now, the wordes of the prophets declare good vnto the King with one accorde: let thy word therefore, I pray thee, be like the worde of one of them, and speake thou good.
14 Aber Micha sprach: So wahr Jehova lebt, was Jehova mir sagen wird, das werde ich reden!
And Michaiah saide, As the Lord liueth, whatsoeuer the Lord sayth vnto me, that will I speake.
15 Und als er zu dem König kam, sprach der König zu ihm: Micha, sollen wir nach Ramoth-Gilead in den Streit ziehen, oder sollen wir davon abstehen? Und er sprach zu ihm: Ziehe hinauf, und es wird dir gelingen; denn Jehova wird es in die Hand des Königs geben.
So he came to the King, and the King said vnto him, Michaiah, shall we go against Ramoth Gilead to battel, or shall we leaue off? And he answered him, Goe vp, and prosper: and the Lord shall deliuer it into the hand of the King.
16 Und der König sprach zu ihm: Wie viele Male muß ich dich beschwören, daß du nichts zu mir reden sollst als nur Wahrheit im Namen Jehovas?
And the King said vnto him, How oft shall I charge thee, that thou tell me nothing but that which is true in the Name of the Lord?
17 Da sprach er: Ich sah ganz Israel auf den Bergen zerstreut, wie Schafe, die keinen Hirten haben. Und Jehova sprach: Diese haben keinen Herrn; sie sollen ein jeder nach seinem Hause zurückkehren in Frieden.
Then he said, I sawe all Israel scattered vpon the mountaines, as sheepe that had no shepheard. And the Lord sayde, These haue no master, let euery man returne vnto his house in peace.
18 Und der König von Israel sprach zu Josaphat: Habe ich dir nicht gesagt: Er weissagt nichts Gutes über mich, sondern nur Böses?
(And the King of Israel saide vnto Iehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee, that he would prophecie no good vnto me, but euill?)
19 Und er sprach: Darum höre das Wort Jehovas! Ich sah Jehova auf seinem Throne sitzen, und alles Heer des Himmels bei ihm stehen, zu seiner Rechten und zu seiner Linken.
Againe he said, Heare thou therefore the worde of the Lord. I sawe the Lord sit on his throne, and all the hoste of heauen stood about him on his right hand and on his left hand.
20 und Jehova sprach: Wer will Ahab bereden, daß er hinaufziehe und zu Ramoth-Gilead falle? Und der eine sprach so, und der andere sprach so.
And the Lord sayd, Who shall entise Ahab that he may go and fall at Ramoth Gilead? And one said on this maner, and another sayd on that maner.
21 Da trat ein Geist hervor und stellte sich vor Jehova und sprach: Ich will ihn bereden. Und Jehova sprach zu ihm: Wodurch?
Then there came forth a spirit, and stoode before the Lord, and sayd, I wil entise him. And the Lord sayd vnto him, Wherewith?
22 Und er sprach: Ich will ausgehen und will ein Lügengeist sein in dem Munde aller seiner Propheten. Und er sprach: Du wirst ihn bereden und wirst es auch ausrichten; gehe aus und tue also!
And he sayd, I will goe out, and be a false spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. Then he sayd, Thou shalt entise him, and shalt also preuayle: goe forth, and doe so.
23 Und nun, siehe, Jehova hat einen Lügengeist in den Mund all dieser deiner Propheten gelegt, und Jehova hat Böses über dich geredet.
Now therefore behold, the Lord hath put a lying spirite in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the Lord hath appoynted euill against thee.
24 Da trat Zedekia, der Sohn Kenaanas, herzu und schlug Micha auf den Backen und sprach: Wo wäre der Geist Jehovas von mir gewichen, um mit dir zu reden?
Then Zidkiiah the sonne of Chenaanah came neere, and smote Michaiah on the cheeke and sayd, When went the Spirite of the Lord from me, to speake vnto thee?
25 Und Micha sprach: Siehe, du wirst es sehen an jenem Tage, wenn du ins innerste Gemach gehen wirst, um dich zu verstecken.
And Michaiah saide, Behold, thou shalt see in that day, when thou shalt goe from chamber to chamber to hide thee.
26 Und der König von Israel sprach: Nimm Micha und führe ihn zurück zu Amon, dem Obersten der Stadt, und zu Joas, dem Sohne des Königs,
And the King of Israel sayd, Take Michaiah, and cary him vnto Amon the gouernour of the citie, and vnto Ioash the Kings sonne,
27 und sage: So spricht der König: Setzet diesen ins Gefängnis und speiset ihn mit Brot der Trübsal und mit Wasser der Trübsal, bis ich in Frieden heimkomme.
And say, Thus saith the King, Put this man in the prison house, and feede him with bread of affliction, and with water of affliction, vntill I returne in peace.
28 Und Micha sprach: Wenn du je in Frieden zurückkehrst, so hat Jehova nicht durch mich geredet! Und er sprach: Höret es, ihr Völker alle!
And Michaiah sayde, If thou returne in peace, the Lord hath not spoken by me. And he sayd, Hearken all ye people.
29 Und der König von Israel und Josaphat, der König von Juda, zogen hinauf nach Ramoth-Gilead.
So the King of Israel and Iehoshaphat the King of Iudah went vp to Ramoth Gilead.
30 Und der König von Israel sprach zu Josaphat: Ich will mich verkleiden und in den Streit ziehen, du aber lege deine Kleider an. Und der König von Israel verkleidete sich und zog in den Streit.
And the King of Israel sayde to Iehoshaphat, I will change mine apparell, and will enter into the battell, but put thou on thine apparell. And the King of Israel changed himselfe, and went into the battel.
31 Der König von Syrien hatte aber seinen zweiunddreißig Obersten der Wagen geboten und gesagt: Ihr sollt weder wider einen Geringen streiten, noch wider einen Großen, sondern wider den König von Israel allein.
And the King of Aram commanded his two and thirtie captaines ouer his charets, saying, Fight neither with small, nor great, saue onely against the King of Israel.
32 Und es geschah, als die Obersten der Wagen Josaphat sahen, denn sie sprachen: Das ist gewiß der König von Israel! da lenkten sie auf ihn zu, um zu streiten; und Josaphat schrie.
And when the captaines of the charets saw Iehoshaphat, they sayd, Surely it is the King of Israel, and they turned to fight against him: and Iehoshaphat cryed.
33 Und es geschah, als die Obersten der Wagen sahen, daß er nicht der König von Israel war, da wandten sie sich von ihm ab.
And when the captaines of the charets saw that he was not the King of Israel, they turned backe from him.
34 Und ein Mann spannte den Bogen aufs Geratewohl und traf den König von Israel zwischen den Panzeranhang und den Panzer. Da sprach er zu seinem Wagenlenker: Wende um und führe mich aus dem Heere hinaus, denn ich bin verwundet.
Then a certaine man drewe a bow mightily and smote the King of Israel betweene the ioyntes of his brigandine. Wherefore he sayde vnto his charet man, Turne thine hand and cary me out of the hoste: for I am hurt.
35 Und der Streit nahm überhand an selbigem Tage, und der König wurde aufrecht erhalten in dem Wagen, den Syrern gegenüber; und er starb am Abend; und das Blut der Wunde floß in den Boden des Wagens.
And the battel encreased that day, and the King stoode still in his charet against the Aramites, and dyed at euen: and the blood ran out of the wound into the middes of the charet.
36 Da erging der laute Ruf durch das Lager beim Untergang der Sonne, indem man sprach: Ein jeder in seine Stadt, und ein jeder in sein Land!
And there went a proclamation thorowout the hoste about the going downe of the sunne, saying, Euery man to his citie, and euery man to his owne countrey.
37 Und so starb der König und kam nach Samaria; und man begrub den König zu Samaria.
So the King died, and was brought to Samaria, and they buried the King in Samaria.
38 Und als man den Wagen am Teiche von Samaria abspülte, da leckten die Hunde sein Blut (da wo die Huren badeten), nach dem Worte Jehovas, das er geredet hatte.
And one washed the charet in the poole of Samaria, and the dogs licked vp his blood (and they washed his armour) according vnto the word of the Lord which he spake.
39 Und das Übrige der Geschichte Ahabs und alles, was er getan und das elfenbeinerne Haus, das er gebaut, und alle Städte, die er gebaut hat, ist das nicht geschrieben in dem Buche der Chronika der Könige von Israel?
Concerning the rest of the actes of Ahab and all that he did, and the yuorie house which he built, and all the cities that he built, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
40 Und Ahab legte sich zu seinen Vätern. Und Ahasja, sein Sohn, ward König an seiner Statt.
So Ahab slept with his fathers, and Ahaziah his sonne reigned in his stead.
41 Und Josaphat, der Sohn Asas, wurde König über Juda im vierten Jahre Ahabs, des Königs von Israel.
And Iehoshaphat the sonne of Asa began to reigne vpon Iudah in the fourth yeere of Ahab King of Israel.
42 Josaphat war fünfunddreißig Jahre alt, als er König wurde, und er regierte fünfundzwanzig Jahre zu Jerusalem; und er Name seiner Mutter war Asuba, die Tochter Schilchis.
Iehoshaphat was fiue and thirty yere olde, when he began to reigne, and reigned fiue and twentie yeere in Ierusalem. And his mothers name was Azubah the daughter of Shilhi.
43 Und er wandelte auf allen Wegen seines Vaters Asa; er wich nicht davon, indem er tat, was recht war in den Augen Jehovas. Nur die Höhen wichen nicht: das Volk opferte und räucherte noch auf den Höhen.
And he walked in all the wayes of Asa his father, and declined not therefrom, but did that which was right in the eyes of the Lord. Neuerthelesse the hie places were not taken away: for the people offred still and burnt incense in the hie places.
44 Und Josaphat hatte Frieden mit dem König von Israel.
And Iehoshaphat made peace with the King of Israel.
45 Und das Übrige der Geschichte Josaphats, und seine Macht, die er ausgeübt, und wie er gestritten hat, ist das nicht geschrieben in dem Buche der Chronika der Könige von Juda?
Concerning the rest of the actes of Iehoshaphat, and his worthy deedes that he did, and his battels which he fought, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah?
46 Auch den Rest der Buhler, der in den Tagen seines Vaters Asa übriggeblieben war, schaffte er aus dem Lande hinweg.
And the Sodomites, which remayned in the dayes of his father Asa, he put cleane out of the land.
47 Und es war damals kein König in Edom; ein Statthalter war König.
There was then no King in Edom: the deputie was King.
48 Josaphat baute Tarsisschiffe, um nach Ophir zu fahren und Gold zu holen; aber man fuhr nicht, denn die Schiffe wurden bei Ezjon-Geber zertrümmert.
Iehoshaphat made shippes of Tharshish to sayle to Ophir for golde, but they went not, for the shippes were broken at Ezion Gaber.
49 Damals sprach Ahasja, der Sohn Ahabs, zu Josaphat: Laß meine Knechte mit deinen Knechten auf den Schiffen fahren; aber Josaphat wollte nicht.
Then sayde Ahaziah the sonne of Ahab vnto Iehoshaphat, Let my seruants goe with thy seruants in the ships, But Iehoshaphat would not.
50 Und Josaphat legte sich zu seinen Vätern, und er wurde bei seinen Vätern begraben in der Stadt seines Vaters David. Und Joram, sein Sohn, ward König an seiner Statt.
And Iehoshaphat did sleepe with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the citie of Dauid his father, and Iehoram his sonne reigned in his stead.
51 Ahasja, der Sohn Ahabs, wurde König über Israel zu Samaria, im siebzehnten Jahre Josaphats, des Königs von Juda; und er regierte zwei Jahre über Israel.
Ahaziah the sonne of Ahab began to reigne ouer Israel in Samaria, the seuenteenth yeere of Iehoshaphat King of Iudah, and reigned two yeeres ouer Israel.
52 Und er tat, was böse war in den Augen Jehovas, und er wandelte auf dem Wege seines Vaters und auf dem Wege seiner Mutter und auf dem Wege Jerobeams, des Sohnes Nebats, der Israel sündigen gemacht hatte.
But he did euill in the sight of the Lord, and walked in the way of his father, and in the way of his mother, and in the way of Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat, which made Israel to sinne.
53 Und er diente dem Baal und beugte sich vor ihm nieder; und er reizte Jehova, den Gott Israels, nach allem, was sein Vater getan hatte.
For he serued Baal and worshipped him, and prouoked the Lord God of Israel vnto wrath, according vnto all that his father had done.
