Rut 3
1 Und Noomi, ihre Schwiegermutter, sprach zu ihr: Meine Tochter, sollte ich dir nicht Ruhe suchen, daß es dir wohl gehe?
And her mother-in-law Naomi says to her, “My daughter, do I not seek rest for you, that it may be well with you?
2 Und nun, ist nicht Boas, bei dessen Dirnen du gewesen bist, unser Verwandter? Siehe, er worfelt diese Nacht auf der Gerstentenne.
And now, is not Boaz of our acquaintance, with whose young women you have been? Behold, he is winnowing the threshing-floor of barley tonight,
3 So bade dich und salbe dich und lege deine Kleider an und gehe zur Tenne hinab; laß dich nicht von dem Manne bemerken, bis er fertig ist mit Essen und Trinken.
and you have bathed, and anointed yourself, and put your garments on you, and gone down to the threshing-floor; do not let yourself be known to the man until he completes to eat and to drink;
4 Und es geschehe, wenn er sich niederlegt, so merke den Ort, wo er sich hinlegt, und gehe und decke auf zu seinen Füßen und lege dich hin; er aber wird dir kundtun, was du tun sollst.
and it comes to pass, when he lies down, that you have known the place where he lies down, and have gone in, and uncovered his feet, and lain down—and he declares to you that which you do.”
5 Und sie sprach zu ihr: Alles, was du sagst, will ich tun.
And she says to her, “All that you say—I do.”
6 Und sie ging zur Tenne hinab und tat nach allem, was ihre Schwiegermutter ihr geboten hatte.
And she goes down [to] the threshing-floor, and does according to all that her mother-in-law commanded her
7 Und Boas aß und trank, und sein Herz wurde fröhlich; und er kam, um sich an dem Ende des Getreidehaufens niederzulegen. Da kam sie leise und deckte zu seinen Füßen auf und legte sich hin.
And Boaz eats and drinks, and his heart is glad; and he goes in to lie down at the end of the heap; and she comes in gently, and uncovers his feet, and lies down.
8 Und es geschah um Mitternacht, da schrak der Mann auf und beugte sich hin: und siehe, ein Weib lag zu seinen Füßen.
And it comes to pass, at the middle of the night, that the man trembles, and turns himself, and behold, a woman is lying at his feet.
9 Und er sprach: Wer bist du? Und sie sprach: Ich bin Ruth, deine Magd; so breite deine Flügel [And. üb.: deine Decke] aus über deine Magd, denn du bist ein Blutsverwandter.
And he says, “Who [are] you?” And she says, “I [am] Ruth your handmaid, and you have spread your skirt over your handmaid, for you [are] a redeemer.”
10 Und er sprach: Gesegnet seiest du von Jehova, meine Tochter! Du hast deine letzte Güte noch besser erwiesen als die erste, indem du nicht den Jünglingen nachgegangen bist, sei es armen oder reichen.
And he says, “Blessed [are] you of YHWH, my daughter; you have dealt more kindly at the latter end than at the beginning—not to go after the young men, either poor or rich.
11 Und nun, meine Tochter, fürchte dich nicht! alles, was du sagst, werde ich dir tun; denn das ganze Tor meines Volkes weiß, daß du ein wackeres Weib bist.
And now, my daughter, do not fear, all that you say I do to you, for all the gate of my people knows that you [are] a virtuous woman.
12 Und nun, wahrlich, ich bin ein Blutsverwandter; doch ist auch ein näherer Blutsverwandter da als ich.
And now, surely, true, that I [am] a redeemer, but also there is a redeemer nearer than I.
13 Bleibe diese Nacht; und es soll am Morgen geschehen, wenn er dich lösen will, gut, so mag er lösen; wenn er aber keine Lust hat, dich zu lösen, so werde ich dich lösen, so wahr Jehova lebt! Liege bis zum Morgen.
Lodge tonight, and it has been in the morning, if he redeems you, well: he redeems; and if he does not delight to redeem you, then I have redeemed you—I; YHWH lives! Lie down until the morning.”
14 Und sie lag zu seinen Füßen bis zum Morgen; und sie stand auf, ehe einer den anderen erkennen konnte; denn er sprach: Es werde nicht kund, daß ein Weib auf die Tenne gekommen ist!
And she lies down at his feet until the morning, and rises before one discerns another; and he says, “Let it not be known that the woman has come into the floor.”
15 Und er sprach: Gib den Mantel her, den du anhast, und halte ihn. Und sie hielt ihn, und er maß sechs Maß Gerste und legte sie ihr auf; und er [E. l.: sie] ging in die Stadt.
And he says, “Give the covering which [is] on you, and keep hold on it”; and she keeps hold on it, and he measures six [measures] of barley, and lays [it] on her; and he goes into the city.
16 Und sie kam zu ihrer Schwiegermutter; und sie sprach: Wie steht es mit dir, [Eig. Als welche [oder wie] bist du?] meine Tochter? Und sie berichtete ihr alles, was der Mann ihr getan hatte,
And she comes to her mother-in-law, and she says, “Who [are] you, my daughter?” And she declares to her all that the man has done to her.
17 und sprach: Diese sechs Maß Gerste gab er mir, denn er sagte: Du sollst nicht leer zu deiner Schwiegermutter kommen.
And she says, “These six [measures] of barley he has given to me, for he said, You do not go in empty to your mother-in-law.”
18 Und sie sprach: Bleibe, meine Tochter, bis du weißt, wie die Sache ausfällt; denn der Mann wird nicht ruhen, er habe denn die Sache heute zu Ende geführt.
And she says, “Sit still, my daughter, until you know how the matter falls, for the man does not rest except he has completed the matter today.”
