Psalm 99

1 Jehova regiert: es zittern die Völker; er thront zwischen [O. über] den Cherubim: es wankt die Erde.

Adonai reigns! Let the peoples tremble. He sits enthroned among the cherubim. Let the earth be moved.

2 Groß ist Jehova in Zion, und hoch ist er über alle Völker.

Adonai is great in Zion [Mountain ridge, Marking]. He is high above all the peoples.

3 Preisen sollen sie deinen Namen, den großen und furchtbaren, heilig ist er! -

Let them yadah ·extend hands in thankful praise· to your great and awesome name. He is Holy!

4 Und die Stärke des Königs, der das Recht liebt! Du stellst fest die Geradheit, du übst Recht und Gerechtigkeit in Jakob.

The King’s strength also 'ahav ·affectionately loves· mishpat ·justice·. You do establish equity. You execute mishpat ·justice· and righteousness in Jacob [Supplanter].

5 Erhebet Jehova, unseren Gott, und fallet nieder vor dem Schemel seiner Füße! Heilig ist er.

Exalt Yahweh Eloheikhem [Yahweh our God]. Hawa ·Bow low, prostrate· to worship at his footstool. He is Holy!

6 Mose und Aaron unter seinen Priestern, und Samuel unter denen, die seinen Namen anrufen, riefen zu Jehova, und er antwortete ihnen.

Moses [Drawn out] and Aaron [Light-bringer] were among his priests, Samuel among those who call on his name; they called on Adonai, and he answered them.

7 In der Wolkensäule redete er zu ihnen; sie bewahrten seine Zeugnisse und die Satzung, die er ihnen gegeben.

He spoke to them in the pillar of cloud. They kept his testimonies, the statute that he gave them.

8 Jehova, unser Gott, du hast ihnen geantwortet! ein vergebender Gott [El] warst du ihnen, und ein Rächer ihrer Taten.

You answered them, Yahweh Eloheikhem [Yahweh our God]. You are a God who forgave them, although you took vengeance for their doings.

9 Erhebet Jehova, unseren Gott, und fallet nieder an seinem heiligen Berge! denn heilig ist Jehova, unser Gott.

Exalt Adonai, our God. Hawa ·Bow low, prostrate· to worship at his holy hill, for Adonai, our God, is holy!
