Psalm 92
1 [Ein Psalm, ein Lied. Für den Tag des Sabbaths.] Es ist gut, Jehova zu preisen, [O. zu danken] und Psalmen zu singen deinem Namen, o Höchster!
A psalm. A song for the Sabbath day. How good it is to thank the Lord, to sing praises to you, Most High,
2 Am Morgen zu verkünden deine Güte, und deine Treue in den Nächten,
to tell of your trustworthy love in the morning, and your faithfulness in the night,
3 Zum Zehnsait und zur Harfe, zum Saitenspiel mit der Laute.
to the music of a ten-stringed harp and the melody of a lyre.
4 Denn du hast mich erfreut, Jehova, durch dein Tun; über die Werke deiner Hände will ich jubeln.
You've made me so happy, Lord, because of all you've done for me! I sing for joy at what you've done!
5 Wie groß sind deine Werke, Jehova! sehr tief sind deine Gedanken.
Lord, what you do is amazing; your thoughts are very profound!
6 Ein unvernünftiger Mensch erkennt es nicht, und ein Tor versteht solches nicht.
Only senseless people and fools don't know and understand this:
7 Wenn die Gesetzlosen sprossen wie Gras, [Eig. Kraut] und alle, die Frevel tun, blühen, so geschieht es, damit sie vertilgt werden für immer.
even though the wicked grow up quickly like grass, and even though people who do evil flourish, they will be destroyed forever!
8 Du aber bist erhaben auf ewig, Jehova!
But you, Lord, rule on high forever.
9 Denn siehe, deine Feinde, Jehova, denn siehe, deine Feinde werden umkommen; es werden zerstreut werden alle, die Frevel tun.
Your enemies, Lord, your enemies will die; everyone who does evil will be destroyed!
10 Aber du wirst mein Horn erhöhen gleich dem eines Büffels; mit frischem Öle werde ich übergossen werden.
But you have made me as powerful as a wild bull; you have anointed me with the best olive oil.
11 Und mein Auge wird seine Lust sehen an meinen Feinden, [Eig. Laurern] meine Ohren werden ihre Lust hören an den Übeltätern, die wider mich aufstehen.
My eyes look with pleasure to see my enemies defeated; my ears have heard the downfall of those who tried to attack me.
12 Der Gerechte wird sprossen wie der Palmbaum, wie eine Ceder auf dem Libanon wird er emporwachsen.
Those who live right flourish like a palm tree; they grow tall like a cedar tree in Lebanon.
13 Die gepflanzt sind in dem Hause Jehovas, werden blühen [O. Gepflanzt in werden sie blühen] in den Vorhöfen unseres Gottes.
They are planted in the house of the Lord; they thrive in the courts of our God.
14 Noch im Greisenalter treiben sie, sind saftvoll und grün,
Even when they are old they will still produce fruit, staying fresh and green.
15 Um zu verkünden, daß Jehova gerecht [Eig. gerade] ist. Er ist mein Fels, und kein Unrecht ist in ihm.
They will declare, “The Lord does what is right! He is my rock! There is no wrong in him!”
