Psalm 87

1 [Von den Söhnen Korahs, ein Psalm, ein Lied. [Eig. ein Lied-Psalm] ] Seine Gründung [d. h. das, was Jehova gegründet hat] ist auf den Bergen der Heiligkeit;

For the Sons of Korah. A Melody, a Song. His foundation, is in the holy mountains:

2 Jehova liebt die Tore Zions mehr als alle Wohnungen Jakobs.

Yahweh loveth the gates of Zion, More than all the dwellings of Jacob.

3 Herrliches ist von dir geredet, du Stadt Gottes. (Sela)

Glorious things, are to be spoken of thee, O city of God. (Selah)

4 Erwähnen will ich Rahabs [d. h. Ägyptens] und Babels bei denen, die mich kennen; siehe, Philistäa und Tyrus samt Äthiopien: dieser ist daselbst geboren.

I will mention Rahab and Babylon, to them who know me—Lo! Philistia and Tyre with Ethiopia, This one was born there.

5 Und von Zion wird gesagt werden: Der und der ist darin geboren; und der Höchste, er wird es befestigen.

But, of Zion, it shall be said—This man and that were born in her, And the Highest himself shall establish her.

6 Jehova wird schreiben beim Verzeichnen [O. aufzählen beim Einschreiben] der Völker: Dieser ist daselbst geboren. (Sela)

Yahweh, will record, when he enrolleth the peoples, This one was born there. (Selah)

7 Und singend und den Reigen tanzend werden sie sagen: Alle meine Quellen sind in dir!

As well the singers as the flute-players [are saying], —All my springs, are in thee!
