Psalm 130

1 [Ein Stufenlied.] Aus den Tiefen rufe ich zu dir, Jehova!

A Song of the going up. Out of the deep have I sent up my cry to you, O Lord.

2 Herr, höre auf meine Stimme! laß deine Ohren aufmerksam sein auf die Stimme meines Flehens!

Lord, let my voice come before you: let your ears be awake to the voice of my prayer.

3 Wenn du, Jehova, [Hebr. Jah] merkst auf [O. behältst] die Ungerechtigkeiten: Herr, wer wird bestehen?

O Jah, if you took note of every sin, who would go free?

4 Doch bei dir ist Vergebung, [Eig. das Vergeben] damit du gefürchtet werdest.

But there is forgiveness with you, so that you may be feared.

5 Ich warte [O. hoffe hofft] auf Jehova, meine Seele wartet; [O. hoffe hofft] und auf sein Wort harre ich.

I am waiting for the Lord, my soul is waiting for him, and my hope is in his word.

6 Meine Seele harrt auf den Herrn, mehr als die Wächter auf den Morgen, die Wächter auf den Morgen.

My soul is watching for the Lord more than those who are watching for the morning; yes, more than the watchers for the morning.

7 Harre, Israel, auf Jehova! denn bei Jehova ist die Güte, und viel Erlösung bei ihm.

O Israel, have hope in the Lord; for with the Lord is mercy and full salvation.

8 Und er, er wird Israel erlösen von allen seinen Ungerechtigkeiten.

And he will make Israel free from all his sins.
