Psalm 128

1 [Ein Stufenlied.] Glückselig ein jeder, der Jehova fürchtet, der da wandelt in seinen Wegen!

A Song of degrees. Blessed is every one that feareth Jehovah, that walketh in his ways.

2 Denn essen wirst du die Arbeit deiner Hände; glückselig wirst du sein, und es wird dir wohlgehen.

For thou shalt eat the labour of thy hands; happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.

3 Dein Weib wird gleich einem fruchtbaren Weinstock sein im Innern deines Hauses, deine Söhne gleich Ölbaumsprossen rings um deinen Tisch.

Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine in the inner part of thy house; thy children like olive-plants round about thy table.

4 Siehe, also wird gesegnet sein der Mann, der Jehova fürchtet.

Behold, thus shall the man be blessed that feareth Jehovah.

5 Segnen wird dich Jehova von Zion aus, und du wirst das Wohl Jerusalems schauen [O. Es segne dich, und mögest du schauen] alle Tage deines Lebens,

Jehovah will bless thee out of Zion; and mayest thou see the good of Jerusalem all the days of thy life,

6 Und sehen deiner Kinder Kinder. -Wohlfahrt über Israel!

And see thy children's children. Peace be upon Israel!
