Psalm 126

1 [Ein Stufenlied.] Als Jehova die Gefangenen [Eig. die Heimkehrenden] Zions zurückführte, waren wir wie Träumende.

A Song of Ascents. When Yahweh brought back the captives of Zion, we were like them who dream:

2 Da ward unser Mund voll Lachens, und unsere Zunge voll Jubels; da sagte man unter den Nationen: Jehova hat Großes an ihnen [Eig. diesen] getan!

Then, was our mouth, filled with laughter, and our tongue with a shout of triumph, —Then, said they among the nations, Yahweh, hath done great things, with these!

3 Jehova hat Großes an uns getan: wir waren fröhlich!

Yahweh, hath done great things with us, we are full of joy!

4 Führe unsere Gefangenen zurück, Jehova, gleich Bächen im Mittagslande!

Bring thou back, O Yahweh, our captives, like channels in the South.

5 Die mit Tränen säen, werden mit Jubel ernten.

They who are sowing with tears, with shouting, shall reap:

6 Er geht weinend hin, tragend den Samen zum Säen; er kommt heim mit Jubel, tragend seine Garben.

He that, doth indeed go forth, and weep, bearing seed enough to trail along, doth, surely come in, with shouting, bringing his sheaves.
