Psalm 101

1 [Von David; ein Psalm.] Von Güte und Recht will ich singen; dir, Jehova, will ich Psalmen singen.

A Psalm of David himself. I will sing mercy and judgment to you, O Lord. I will sing psalms.

2 Ich will weislich handeln auf vollkommenem Wege [O. achtsam sein auf den Weg der Vollkommenheit; ] -wann wirst du zu mir kommen? -im Innern meines Hauses will ich wandeln in Lauterkeit meines Herzens.

And I will have understanding within the immaculate way, when you will draw near to me. I wandered about in the innocence of my heart, in the midst of my house.

3 Ich will kein Belialsstück vor meine Augen stellen; das Tun der Abtrünnigen [O. Übertretungen zu begehen] hasse ich: es soll mir nicht ankleben.

I will not display any unjust thing before my eyes. I have hated those carrying out betrayals.

4 Ein verkehrtes Herz soll von mir weichen, den Bösen [O. das Böse] will ich nicht kennen.

The perverse heart did not adhere to me. And the malignant, who turned away before me, I would not recognize.

5 Wer seinen Nächsten heimlich verleumdet, den will ich vertilgen; wer stolzer Augen und hochmütigen [Eig. aufgeblasenen] Herzens ist, den will ich nicht dulden.

The one who secretly detracted his neighbor, this one I pursued. The one with an arrogant eye and an insatiable heart, with that one I would not eat.

6 Meine Augen werden gerichtet sein auf die Treuen im Lande, damit sie bei mir wohnen; wer auf vollkommenem Wege wandelt, der soll mir dienen.

My eyes looked toward the faithful of the earth, to sit with me. The one walking in the immaculate way, this one ministered to me.

7 Nicht soll wohnen im Innern meines Hauses, wer Trug übt; wer Lügen redet, soll nicht bestehen vor meinen Augen.

He who has acted arrogantly will not dwell in the midst of my house. He who has spoken iniquity was not guided with the sight of my eyes.

8 Jeden Morgen will ich vertilgen alle Gesetzlosen des Landes, um aus der Stadt Jehovas auszurotten alle, die Frevel tun.

In the morning, I executed all the sinners of the earth, so that I might scatter all the workers of iniquity from the city of the Lord.
