Philipper 2
1 Wenn es nun irgend eine Ermunterung gibt in Christo, wenn irgend einen Trost der Liebe, wenn irgend eine Gemeinschaft des Geistes, wenn irgend innerliche Gefühle und Erbarmungen,
If, then, any exhortation [is] in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of [the] Spirit, if any yearnings and mercies,
2 so erfüllet meine Freude, daß ihr einerlei gesinnt seid, dieselbe Liebe habend, einmütig, eines Sinnes,
fulfill my joy, that you may mind the same thing—having the same love—of one soul—minding the one thing,
3 nichts aus Parteisucht [O. Streitsucht] oder eitlem Ruhm tuend, sondern in der Demut einer den anderen höher achtend als sich selbst;
nothing in rivalry or vainglory, but in humility of mind counting one another more excellent than yourselves—
4 ein jeder nicht auf das Seinige sehend, sondern ein jeder auch auf das der anderen.
do not each look to your own, but each also to the things of others.
5 Denn diese Gesinnung sei in [O. unter] euch, die auch in Christo Jesu war,
For let this mind be in you that [is] also in Christ Jesus,
6 welcher, da er in Gestalt Gottes war, es nicht für einen Raub achtete, Gott gleich zu sein,
who, being in the form of God, thought [it] not something to be seized to be equal to God,
7 sondern sich selbst zu nichts machte [W. sich selbst entäußerte oder entleerte] und Knechtsgestalt annahm, indem er in Gleichheit der Menschen geworden ist,
but emptied Himself, having taken the form of a servant, having been made in the likeness of men,
8 und, in seiner Gestalt [O. Haltung, äußere Erscheinung] wie ein Mensch erfunden, sich selbst erniedrigte, indem er gehorsam ward bis zum Tode, ja, zum Tode am Kreuze.
and having been found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself, having become obedient to death—even death of a cross,
9 Darum hat Gott ihn auch hoch erhoben und ihm einen [O. nach and. Les.: den] Namen gegeben, der über jeden Namen ist,
for this reason, also, God highly exalted Him, and gave to Him a Name that [is] above every name,
10 auf daß in dem Namen Jesu jedes Knie sich beuge, der Himmlischen und Irdischen und Unterirdischen,
that in the Name of Jesus every knee may bow—of heavenlies, and earthlies, and what are under the earth—
11 und jede Zunge bekenne, daß Jesus Christus Herr ist, zur Verherrlichung Gottes, des Vaters.
and every tongue may confess that Jesus Christ [is] LORD, to the glory of God the Father.
12 Daher, meine Geliebten, gleichwie ihr allezeit gehorsam gewesen seid, nicht allein als in meiner Gegenwart, sondern jetzt vielmehr in meiner Abwesenheit, bewirket [O. wirket aus, vollführet] eure eigene Seligkeit [O. Errettung, Heil] mit Furcht und Zittern;
So that, my beloved, as you always obey, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling,
13 denn Gott ist es, der in euch wirkt sowohl das Wollen als auch das Wirken, nach seinem Wohlgefallen.
for it is God who is working in you both to will and to work for His good pleasure.
14 Tut alles ohne Murren und zweifelnde Überlegungen,
Do all things without murmurings and deliberations,
15 auf daß ihr tadellos und lauter [O. einfältig] seid, unbescholtene Kinder Gottes, inmitten eines verdrehten und verkehrten Geschlechts, unter welchem ihr scheinet [Eig. erscheinet, aufgehet] wie Lichter [O. Himmelslichter] in der Welt,
that you may become blameless and pure children of God, unblemished in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as luminaries in the world,
16 darstellend das Wort des Lebens, mir zum Ruhm auf den Tag Christi, daß ich nicht vergeblich gelaufen bin, noch auch vergeblich gearbeitet habe.
holding forth the word of life, for rejoicing to me in regard to [the] Day of Christ, that I did not run in vain, nor did I labor in vain;
17 Wenn ich aber auch als Trankopfer über das Opfer [Eig. Schlachtopfer] und den Dienst eures Glaubens gesprengt werde, so freue ich mich und freue mich mit euch allen.
but if I also am poured forth on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I rejoice and am glad with you all,
18 Gleicherweise [O. Desselbigen] aber freuet auch ihr euch und freuet euch mit mir.
because of this you also rejoice and are glad with me.
19 Ich hoffe aber in dem Herrn Jesus, Timotheus bald zu euch zu senden, auf daß auch ich gutes Mutes sei, wenn ich eure Umstände weiß.
And I hope, in the Lord Jesus, to send Timotheus to you quickly, that I also may be of good spirit, having known the things concerning you,
20 Denn ich habe niemand gleichgesinnt, der von Herzen [O. redlich, aufrichtig] für das Eure [Eig. das euch Betreffende, eure Umstände; wie v 19] besorgt sein wird;
for I have no one like-minded, who will sincerely care for the things concerning you,
21 denn alle suchen das Ihrige, nicht das, was Jesu Christi ist.
for the whole seek their own things, not the things of Christ Jesus,
22 Ihr kennet aber seine Bewährung, daß er, wie ein Kind dem Vater, mit mir gedient hat an dem Evangelium.
and you know his proof, that as a child [serves] a father, he served with me in regard to the good news;
23 Diesen nun hoffe ich sofort zu senden, wenn ich gesehen haben werde, wie es um mich steht.
I indeed hope to send him, when I may see through the things concerning me—immediately;
24 Ich vertraue aber im Herrn, daß auch ich selbst bald kommen werde.
and I trust in the LORD that I will also come quickly myself.
25 Ich habe es aber für nötig erachtet, Epaphroditus, meinen Bruder und Mitarbeiter und Mitstreiter, aber euren Abgesandten und Diener meiner Notdurft, zu euch zu senden;
And I thought [it] necessary to send to you Epaphroditus—my brother and fellow-workman and fellow-soldier, and your apostle and servant to my need,
26 sintemal ihn sehnlich nach euch allen verlangte, und er sehr bekümmert war, weil ihr gehört hattet, daß er krank war.
seeing he was longing after you all, and in heaviness, because you heard that he ailed,
27 Denn er war auch krank, dem Tode nahe; [Eig. gleich] aber Gott hat sich über ihn erbarmt, nicht aber über ihn allein, sondern auch über mich, auf daß ich nicht Traurigkeit auf Traurigkeit hätte.
for he also ailed near to death, but God dealt kindly with him, and not with him only, but also with me, that I might not have sorrow on sorrow.
28 Ich habe ihn nun desto eilender gesandt, auf daß ihr, wenn ihr ihn sehet, wieder froh werdet, und ich weniger betrübt sei.
The more eagerly, therefore, I sent him, that having seen him again you may rejoice, and I may be less sorrowful;
29 Nehmet ihn nun auf im Herrn mit aller Freude und haltet solche in Ehren;
receive him, therefore, in the LORD, with all joy, and hold such in honor,
30 denn um des Werkes willen ist er dem Tode nahe gekommen, indem er sein Leben wagte, auf daß er den Mangel in eurem Dienste gegen mich ausfüllte.
because on account of the work of the Christ he drew near to death, having hazarded life that he might fill up your deficiency of service to me.
