Nehemia 12

1 Und dies sind die Priester und die Leviten, welche mit Serubbabel, dem Sohne Schealtiels, und Jeschua hinaufzogen: Seraja, Jeremia, Esra,

And these are the priests and the Levites that came up with Zerubbabel the son of Shealthiel, and Jeshua': Serayah, Jeremiah, 'Ezra,

2 Amarja, Malluk, Hattusch,

Amaryah, Malluch, Chattush,

3 Schekanja, Rechum, [in v 15 Harim; wahrsch. ein Schreibfehler] Meremoth,

Shechanyah, Rechum, Meremoth,

4 Iddo, Ginnethoi, Abija,

'Iddo, Ginnethoy, Abiyah,

5 Mijamin, Maadja, Bilga,

Miyamin, Ma'adyah, Bilgah,

6 Schemaja, und Jojarib, Jedaja,

Shema'yah, and Joyarib, Jed'ayah,

7 Sallu, Amok, Hilkija, Jedaja. Das waren die Häupter der Priester und ihrer Brüder in den Tagen Jeschuas. -

Sallu, 'Amok, Chilkiyah, Jed'ayah. These were the chiefs of the priests and of their brethren in the days of Jeshua'.

8 Und die Leviten: Jeschua, Binnui, Kadmiel, Scherebja, Juda, Mattanja; er und seine Brüder waren über den Lobgesang;

And the Levites: Jeshua', Binnui, Kadmiel, Sherebyah, Judah, and Matthaniah, who was over the songs of thanksgiving, he and his brethren;

9 und Bakbukja und Unni, ihre Brüder, standen ihnen gegenüber, den Dienstabteilungen gemäß.

And Bakbukyah and 'Unni, their brethren, were opposite to them in the watches.

10 Und Jeschua zeugte Jojakim, und Jojakim zeugte Eljaschib, und Eljaschib zeugte Jojada,

And Jeshua' begat Joyakim, and Joyakim begat Elyashib, and Elyashib begat Joyada'.

11 und Jojada zeugte Jonathan, [Wahrsch. ein Schreibfehler für Jochanan; vergl. v 22 und 23] und Jonathan zeugte Jaddua.

And Joyada' begat Jonathan, and Jonathan begat Jaddua'.

12 Und in den Tagen Jojakims waren Priester, Häupter der Väter: von Seraja: Meraja; von Jeremia: Hananja;

And in the days of Joyakim were priests, as chiefs of the divisions: Of Serayah, Merayah; of Jeremiah, Chananyah;

13 von Esra: Meschullam; von Amarja: Jochanan;

Of 'Ezra, Meshullam; of Amaryah, Jehochanan;

14 von Meluki: Jonathan; von Schebanja: Joseph;

Of Mellchu, Jonathan; of Shebanyah, Joseph;

15 von Harim: Adna; von Merajoth: Helkai;

Of Charim, 'Adna; of Merayoth, Chelkai;

16 von Iddo: Sacharja; von Ginnethon: Meschullam;

Of 'Iddo, Zechariah; of Ginnethon, Meshullam;

17 von Abija: Sikri; von Minjamin; von Moadja: Piltai;

Of Abiyah, Zichri; of Minyamin, of Mo'adyah, Piltai;

18 von Bilga: Schammua; von Schemaja: Jonathan;

Of Bilgah, Shammua'; of Shem'ayah, Jehonathan;

19 und von Jojarib: Mattenai; von Jedaja: Ussi;

And of Joyarib, Matthenai; of Jeda'yah, 'Uzzi;

20 von Sallai: Kallai; von Amok: Heber; [O. Eber]

Of Sallai, Kallai; of 'Amok, 'Eber;

21 von Hilkija: Haschabja; von Jedaja: Nethaneel. -

Of Chilkiyah, Chashabyah; of Jeda'yah, Nethanel.

22 Von den Leviten wurden in den Tagen Eljaschibs, Jojadas und Jochanans und Jadduas die Häupter der Väter eingeschrieben, und von den Priestern, unter der Regierung Darius, des Persers. [Darius II., der Nachfolger Artaxerxes I., Langhand]

Of the Levites in the days of Elyashib, Yoyada', and Yochanan, and Jaddua', are written down the chiefs of the divisions: also those of the priests to the reign of Darius the Persian.

23 Die Söhne Levis, die Häupter der Väter, sind in dem Buche der Chronika eingeschrieben, und zwar bis auf die Tage Jochanans, des Sohnes Eljaschibs. -

The sons of Levi, the chiefs of the divisions were written down in the book of the chronicles, even until the days of Jochanan the son of Elyashib.

24 Und die Häupter der Leviten waren Haschabja, Scherebja und Jeschua, der Sohn des Kadmiel, [Wahrsch. ist zu lesen: Jeschua, Bani [od. Binnui], Kadmiel usw. Vergl. v 8. und Kap. 8,7;9,4;10,9. 10] und ihre Brüder, die ihnen gegenüber standen, um zu loben und zu preisen, nach dem Gebote Davids, des Mannes Gottes, Abteilung gegenüber Abteilung. [Eig. Dienstabteilung neben Dienstabteilung]

And the chiefs of the Levites were: Chashabyah, Sherebyah, and Jeshua' the son of Kadmiel, with their brethren opposite to them, to praise and to give thanks, according to the command of David the man of God, section by section.

25 Mattanja und Bakbukja, Obadja, Meschullam, [Wahrsch. ist nach Kap. 11,17 zu lesen: Abteilung neben Abteilung: Mattanja Obadja. -Meschullam] Talmon, Akkub hielten als Torhüter Wache bei den Vorratskammern der Tore. -

Matthanyah, and Bakbukyah, 'Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon, 'Akkub, were watching gatekeepers on the watch at the thresholds of the gates.

26 Diese waren in den Tagen Jojakims, des Sohnes Jeschuas, des Sohnes Jozadaks, und in den Tagen Nehemias, des Landpflegers, und Esras, des Priesters, des Schriftgelehrten.

These were in the days of Joyakim, the son of Jeshua', the son of Jozadak, and in the days of Nehemiah the governor, and of 'Ezra the priest, the expounder.

27 Und bei der Einweihung der Mauer von Jerusalem suchte man die Leviten aus allen ihren Orten, daß man sie nach Jerusalem brächte, um die Einweihung zu feiern mit Freuden, und mit Lobliedern und mit Gesang, mit Cymbeln, Harfen und Lauten.

And at the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem they sought the Levites out of all their places, to bring them to Jerusalem, to celebrate the dedication with joy, with thanksgivings, and with singing, cymbals, psalteries, and with harps.

28 Da versammelten sich die Söhne der Sänger, sowohl aus dem Kreise [O. Jordankreise] in der Umgebung von Jerusalem als auch aus den Dörfern der Netophathiter

And there gathered themselves together the sons of the singers, both out of the district round about Jerusalem, and from the villages of Netophah;

29 und aus Beth-Gilgal und aus den Gefilden von Geba und Asmaweth; denn die Sänger hatten sich in der Umgebung von Jerusalem Dörfer gebaut.

Also from Beth-hagilgal, and out of the fields of Geba' and Azmaveth; for the singers had built themselves villages round about Jerusalem.

30 Und die Priester und die Leviten reinigten sich; und sie reinigten das Volk und die Tore und die Mauer.

And the priests and the Levites purified themselves, and then they purified the people, and the gates, and the wall.

31 Und ich ließ die Obersten von Juda oben auf die Mauer steigen; und ich stellte zwei große Dankchöre und Züge auf. Der eine zog zur Rechten, [d. h. südlich] oben auf der Mauer, zum Misttore hin.

Then brought I up the princes of Judah upon the wall, and stationed two great companies for thanksgiving, and trains to walk on the right hand upon the wall by the dung-gate;

32 Und hinter ihnen [d. h. dem ersten Chore] her gingen Hoschaja und die Hälfte der Obersten von Juda,

And after them walked Hosha'yah, and half of the princes of Judah,

33 und zwar Asarja, Esra und Meschullam,

And 'Azaryah, 'Ezra, and Meshullam,

34 Juda und Benjamin, und Schemaja und Jeremia;

Judah, and Benjamin, and Shema'yah, and Jeremiah;

35 und von den Söhnen der Priester mit Trompeten: Sekarja, der Sohn Jonathans, des Sohnes Schemajas, des Sohnes Mattanjas, des Sohnes Mikajas, des Sohnes Sakkurs, des Sohnes Asaphs;

And of the sons of priests' with trumpets, Zechariah the son of Jonathan, the son of Shema'yah, the son of Matthanyah, the son of Michayah, the son of Zaccur, the son of Assaph;

36 und seine Brüder: Schemaja und Asarel, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Nethaneel und Juda, Hanani, mit den Musikinstrumenten Davids, des Mannes Gottes; und Esra, der Schriftgelehrte, vor ihnen her.

And his brethren, Shema'yah, and 'Azarel, Milalai, Gilalai, Ma'ai, Nethanel, and Judah, Chanani, with the musical instruments of David the man of God; and 'Ezra the expounder walked before them.

37 Und sie zogen zum Quelltore; und sie stiegen gerade vor sich hin auf den Stufen der Stadt Davids den Aufgang der Mauer hinauf, und zogen an dem Hause Davids vorüber und bis an das Wassertor gegen Osten.

And over the fountain-gate, and straight before them, they went up by the stairs of the city of David, at the ascent of the wall, above the house of David, even as far as the water-gate, eastward.

38 Und der zweite Dankchor zog nach der entgegengesetzten Seite, [Eig. gegenüber] und ich und die Hälfte des Volkes ging hinter ihm her, ober auf der Mauer, an dem Ofenturm vorüber und bis an die breite Mauer;

And the other company for thanksgiving that walked in the opposite direction to them, —this one did I follow, and the half of the people upon the wall, from beyond the tower of the ovens even as far as the broad wall;

39 und an dem Tore Ephraim und dem Tore der alten Mauer und dem Fischtore und dem Turme Hananeel und dem Turme Mea vorüber und bis an das Schaftor; und sie blieben beim Gefängnistore stehen.

And above the gate of Ephraim, and above the old gate, and above the fish-gate, and the tower of Chananel, and the tower of Meah, even as far as the sheep-gate; and they halted at the prison-gate.

40 Und beide Dankchöre stellten sich am Hause Gottes auf; und ich und die Hälfte der Vorsteher mit mir,

So did the two companies for thanksgiving place themselves in the house of God, and I, and the half of the rulers with me.

41 und die Priester Eljakim, Maaseja, Minjamin, Mikaja, Eljoenai, Sekarja, Hananja, mit Trompeten;

And the priests, Elyakim, Ma'asseyah, Minyamin, Michayah, Elyo'enai, Zechariah, and Chananiah, with trumpets;

42 und Maaseja und Schemaja und Eleasar und Ussi und Jochanan und Malkija und Elam und Eser. Und die Sänger ließen ihre Stimme erschallen, und Jisrachja war ihr Vorsteher.

And Ma'asseyah, and Shema'yah, and El'azar, and 'Uzzi, and Jehochanan, and Malkiyah, and 'Elam, and 'Ezer. And the singers sang aloud, with Yisrachyah as their overseer.

43 Und sie opferten an selbigem Tage große Schlachtopfer und freuten sich, denn Gott hatte ihnen große Freude gegeben; und auch die Weiber und die Kinder freuten sich. Und die Freude Jerusalems wurde bis in die Ferne hin gehört.

And they sacrificed on that day great sacrifices, and rejoiced; for God had caused them to rejoice with great joy; and also the women and the children rejoiced: so that the [shout of] joy of Jerusalem was heard even at a great distance off.

44 Und es wurden an selbigem Tage [d. h. zu jener Zeit; so auch Kap. 13,1] Männer bestellt über die Vorratskammern für die Hebopfer, für die Erstlinge und für die Zehnten, um von den Feldern [Eig. nach den Feldern; d. h. je nach ihrer Größe] der Städte die gesetzlichen Teile für die Priester und für die Leviten darein zu sammeln; denn Juda hatte Freude an den Priestern und an den Leviten, welche dastanden. [d. h. im Dienste]

And there were appointed at that day certain men as superintendents over the chambers for the treasuries, for the heave-offerings, for the first-fruits, and for the tithes, to gather into them out of the fields of the cities the portions according to the law for the priests and the Levites; for Judah had joy on the priests and on the Levites that stood there,

45 Und sie warteten der Hut ihres Gottes und der Hut der Reinigung; [d. h. sie beobachteten, was in Bezug auf ihren Gott und in Bezug auf die Reinigung zu beobachten war] und so auch die Sänger und die Torhüter, nach dem Gebote Davids und seines Sohnes Salomo.

And kept the charge of their God, and the charge of the purification, and as singers and gatekeepers, according to the command of David, [and] of Solomon his son.

46 Denn vor alters, in den Tagen Davids und Asaphs, gab es Häupter der Sänger, und Preis- und Lobgesänge [O. Danklieder] für Gott.

For in the days of David and Assaph of old there were chiefs of the singers, and songs of praise and thanksgiving unto God.

47 Und ganz Israel gab in den Tagen Serubbabels und in den Tagen Nehemias die Teile der Sänger und der Torhüter, den täglichen Bedarf; das Geheiligte aber gaben sie den [Eig. heiligten sie für die, d. h. sie entrichteten als heilige Gabe den Zehnten; vergl. Kap. 10,38] Leviten, und die Leviten gaben das Geheiligte den [Eig. heiligten sie für die, d. h. sie entrichteten als heilige Gabe den Zehnten; vergl. Kap. 10,38] Söhnen Aarons.

And all Israel in the days of Zerubbabel, and in the days of Nehemiah, gave the portions of the singers and the gatekeeper, what was required for every day on its day; and they sanctified things for the Levites: and the Levites sanctified [the portion due] for the children of Aaron.
