Markus 12
1 Und er fing an, in Gleichnissen zu ihnen zu reden: Ein Mensch pflanzte einen Weinberg und setzte einen Zaun um denselben und grub einen Keltertrog und baute einen Turm; und er verdingte ihn an Weingärtner [Eig. Ackerbauer; so auch v 2 usw.] und reiste außer Landes.
And he gave them teaching in the form of stories. A man had a vine-garden planted, and put a wall about it, and made a place for crushing out the wine, and put up a tower, and let it out to field-workers, and went into another country.
2 Und er sandte zur bestimmten Zeit einen Knecht [O. Sklaven; so auch nachher] zu den Weingärtnern, auf daß er von den Weingärtnern von der Frucht des Weinbergs empfinge.
And when the time came, he sent a servant to get from the workmen some of the fruit of the garden.
3 Sie aber nahmen ihn, schlugen ihn und sandten ihn leer fort.
And they took him, and gave him blows, and sent him away with nothing.
4 Und wiederum sandte er einen anderen Knecht zu ihnen; und den verwundeten sie durch Steinwürfe am Kopf und sandten ihn entehrt fort.
And again he sent to them another servant; and they gave him wounds on the head, and were very cruel to him.
5 Und wiederum sandte er einen anderen, und den töteten sie; und viele andere: die einen schlugen sie, die anderen töteten sie.
And he sent another; and they put him to death: and a number of others, whipping some, and putting some to death.
6 Da er nun noch einen geliebten Sohn hatte, sandte er auch ihn, den letzten, zu ihnen, indem er sprach: Sie werden sich vor meinem Sohne scheuen.
He still had one, a dearly loved son: he sent him last to them, saying, They will have respect for my son.
7 Jene Weingärtner aber sprachen zueinander: Dieser ist der Erbe; kommt, laßt uns ihn töten, und das Erbe wird unser sein.
But those workmen said among themselves, This is he who will one day be the owner of the property; come, let us put him to death, and the heritage will be ours.
8 Und sie nahmen ihn und töteten ihn und warfen ihn zum Weinberg hinaus.
And they took him and put him to death, pushing his body out of the garden.
9 Was wird nun der Herr des Weinbergs tun? Er wird kommen und die Weingärtner umbringen und den Weinberg anderen geben.
What then will the master of the garden do? He will come and put the workmen to death, and will give the garden into the hands of others.
10 Habt ihr nicht auch diese Schrift gelesen: "Der Stein, den die Bauleute verworfen haben, dieser ist zum Eckstein [W. zum Haupt der Ecke] geworden;
Have you not seen this which is in the Writings: The stone which the builders put on one side, the same was made the chief stone of the building:
11 von dem Herrn [S. die Anm. zu Mat. 1,20] ist dies geschehen, [Eig. ist er dieser geworden] und ist [O. und er ist] wunderbar in unseren Augen"? [Ps. 118,22-23]
This was the Lord's doing, and it is a wonder in our eyes?
12 Und sie suchten ihn zu greifen, und sie fürchteten die Volksmenge; denn sie erkannten, daß er das Gleichnis auf sie geredet hatte. Und sie ließen ihn und gingen hinweg.
And they made attempts to take him; but they were in fear of the people, because they saw that the story was against them; and they went away from him.
13 Und sie senden etliche der Pharisäer und die Herodianer zu ihm, auf daß sie ihn in der Rede fingen.
Then they sent to him certain of the Pharisees and the Herodians, so that they might make use of his words to take him by a trick.
14 Sie aber kommen und sagen zu ihm: Lehrer, wir wissen, daß du wahrhaftig bist und dich um niemanden kümmerst; denn du siehst nicht auf die Person [O. das Äußere] der Menschen, sondern lehrst den Weg Gottes in Wahrheit; ist es erlaubt, dem Kaiser Steuer zu geben oder nicht? Sollen wir sie geben, oder sollen wir sie nicht geben?
And when they had come, they said to him, Master, we are certain that you are true, and have no fear of anyone: you have no respect for a man's position, but you are teaching the true way of God: Is it right to give taxes to Caesar or not?
15 Da er aber ihre Heuchelei kannte, sprach er zu ihnen: Was versuchet ihr mich? Bringet mir einen Denar, auf daß ich ihn sehe.
Are we to give or not to give? But he, conscious of their false hearts, said to them, Why do you put me to the test? give me a penny, so that I may see it.
16 Sie aber brachten ihn. Und er spricht zu ihnen: Wessen ist dieses Bild und die Überschrift? Und sie sprachen zu ihm: Des Kaisers.
And they gave him one. And he said to them, Whose is this image and name on it? And they said to him, Caesar's.
17 Und Jesus antwortete und sprach zu ihnen: So gebet dem Kaiser, was des Kaisers ist, und Gott, was Gottes ist. Und sie verwunderten sich über ihn.
And Jesus said to them, Give to Caesar the things which are Caesar's, and to God the things which are God's. And they were full of wonder at him.
18 Und es kommen Sadducäer zu ihm, welche sagen, es gebe keine Auferstehung; und sie fragten ihn und sprachen:
And there came to him Sadducees, who say there is no coming back from the dead; and they put a question to him, saying,
19 Lehrer, Moses hat uns geschrieben: Wenn jemandes Bruder stirbt und hinterläßt ein Weib und hinterläßt keine Kinder, daß sein Bruder sein Weib nehme und seinem Bruder Samen erwecke.
Master, in the law Moses says, If a man's brother comes to his end, and has a wife still living and no child, it is right for his brother to take his wife, and get a family for his brother.
20 Es waren sieben Brüder. Und der erste nahm ein Weib; und als er starb, hinterließ er keinen Samen;
There were seven brothers: and the first took a wife, and at his death there were no offspring;
21 und der zweite nahm sie und starb, und auch er hinterließ keinen Samen; und der dritte desgleichen.
And the second took her, and at his death there were no offspring; and the third the same:
22 Und die sieben nahmen sie und hinterließen keinen Samen. Am letzten von allen starb auch das Weib.
And all the seven had no seed. Last of all the woman herself came to her death.
23 In der Auferstehung, wenn sie auferstehen werden, wessen Weib von ihnen wird sie sein? denn die sieben haben sie zum Weibe gehabt.
In the future life, when they come back from the dead, whose wife will she be? for the seven had her for a wife.
24 Und Jesus antwortete und sprach zu ihnen: Irret ihr deshalb nicht, indem [O. weil] ihr die Schriften nicht kennet, noch die Kraft Gottes?
Jesus said to them, Is not this the reason for your error, that you have no knowledge of the holy Writings or of the power of God?
25 Denn wenn sie aus den Toten auferstehen, heiraten sie nicht, noch werden sie verheiratet, sondern sie sind wie Engel in den Himmeln.
When they come back from the dead, they do not get married, but are like the angels in heaven.
26 Was aber die Toten betrifft, daß sie auferstehen, habt ihr nicht in dem Buche Moses gelesen, "in dem Dornbusch", wie Gott zu ihm redete und sprach: "Ich bin der Gott Abrahams und der Gott Isaaks und der Gott Jakobs"? [2. Mose 3,6]
But as to the dead coming back to life; have you not seen in the book of Moses, about the burning thorn-tree, how God said to him, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?
27 Er ist nicht der Gott der Toten, [O. Gott ist nicht ein Gott der Toten] sondern der Lebendigen. Ihr irret also sehr.
He is not the God of the dead, but of the living: you are greatly in error.
28 Und einer der Schriftgelehrten, der gehört hatte, wie sie sich befragten, trat herzu, und als er wahrnahm, daß er ihnen gut geantwortet hatte, fragte er ihn: Welches Gebot ist das erste von allen?
And one of the scribes came, and hearing their argument together, and seeing that he had given them a good answer, put the question to him, Which law is the first of all?
29 Jesus aber antwortete ihm: Das erste Gebot von allen ist: "Höre, Israel: der Herr, unser Gott, ist ein einiger Herr;
Jesus said in answer, The first is, Give ear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord;
30 und du sollst den Herrn, deinen Gott, lieben aus deinem ganzen Herzen und aus deiner ganzen Seele und aus deinem ganzen Verstande [O. Gemüt] und aus deiner ganzen Kraft". [5. Mose 6,4-5] Dies ist das erste Gebot.
And you are to have love for the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.
31 Und das zweite, ihm gleiche, ist dieses: "Du sollst deinen Nächsten lieben wie dich selbst". [3. Mose 19,18] Größer als diese ist kein anderes Gebot.
The second is this, Have love for your neighbour as for yourself. There is no other law greater than these.
32 Und der Schriftgelehrte sprach zu ihm: Recht, Lehrer, du hast nach der Wahrheit geredet; denn [O. daß] er ist ein einiger Gott, und da ist kein anderer außer ihm;
And the scribe said to him, Truly, Master, you have well said that he is one, and there is no other but he:
33 und ihn lieben aus ganzem Herzen und aus ganzem Verständnis und aus ganzer Seele und aus ganzer Kraft, und den Nächsten lieben wie sich selbst, ist mehr als alle Brandopfer und Schlachtopfer.
And to have love for him with all the heart, and with all the mind, and with all the strength, and to have the same love for his neighbour as for himself, is much more than all forms of offerings.
34 Und als Jesus sah, daß er verständig geantwortet hatte, sprach er zu ihm: Du bist nicht fern vom Reiche Gottes. Und hinfort wagte niemand ihn zu befragen.
And when Jesus saw that he gave a wise answer, he said to him, You are not far from the kingdom of God. And every man after that was in fear of questioning him any more.
35 Und Jesus hob an und sprach, als er im Tempel [die Gebäude] lehrte: Wie sagen die Schriftgelehrten, daß der Christus Davids Sohn sei?
And Jesus, when he was teaching in the Temple, said, How do the scribes say that the Christ is the Son of David?
36 Denn David selbst hat in dem Heiligen Geiste gesagt: "Der Herr sprach zu meinem Herrn: Setze dich zu meiner Rechten, bis ich deine Feinde lege zum Schemel deiner Füße". [Ps. 110,1]
David himself said in the Holy Spirit, The Lord said to my Lord, Be seated at my right hand, till I put those who are against you under your feet.
37 David selbst also nennt ihn Herr, und woher ist er sein Sohn? -Und die große Menge des Volkes hörte ihn gern.
David himself gives him the name of Lord; and how then is he his son? And the common people gave ear to him gladly.
38 Und er sprach zu ihnen in seiner Lehre: Hütet euch vor den Schriftgelehrten, die in langen Gewändern einhergehen wollen und die Begrüßungen auf den Märkten lieben
And in his teaching he said, Be on your watch against the scribes, whose pleasure it is to go about in long robes and be respected in the market-places,
39 und die ersten Sitze in den Synagogen und die ersten Plätze bei den Gastmählern;
And to have the chief seats in the Synagogues and the first places at feasts;
40 welche die Häuser der Witwen verschlingen und zum Schein [O. Vorwand] lange Gebete halten. Diese werden ein schwereres Gericht empfangen.
Who take away the property of widows, and before the eyes of men make long prayers; these will be judged more hardly.
41 Und Jesus setzte sich dem Schatzkasten gegenüber und sah, wie die Volksmenge Geld in den Schatzkasten legte; und viele Reiche legten viel ein.
And he took a seat by the place where the money was kept, and saw how the people put money into the boxes: and a number who had wealth put in much.
42 Und eine arme Witwe kam und legte zwei Scherflein [W. zwei Lepta] ein, das ist ein Pfennig. [W. Quadrans, der vierte Teil eines As; s. die Anm. zu Mat. 10,29]
And there came a poor widow, and she put in two little bits of money, which make a farthing.
43 Und er rief seine Jünger herzu und sprach zu ihnen: Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Diese arme Witwe hat mehr eingelegt als alle, die in den Schatzkasten eingelegt haben.
And he made his disciples come to him, and said to them, Truly I say to you, This poor widow has put in more than all those who are putting money into the box:
44 Denn alle haben von ihrem Überfluß eingelegt; diese aber hat von ihrem Mangel, alles was sie hatte, eingelegt, ihren ganzen Lebensunterhalt.
Because they all put in something out of what they had no need for; but she out of her need put in all she had, even all her living.
