Josua 14

1 Und dies ist es, was die Kinder Israel als Erbe im Lande Kanaan erhielten, was ihnen Eleasar, der Priester, und Josua, der Sohn Nuns, und die Häupter der Väter [d. h. Stamm- oder Familienhäupter; so auch Kap. 21,1 usw.] der Stämme der Kinder Israel ihnen als Erbe austeilten,

This `thing it is, which the sones of Israel weldiden in the lond of Canaan, which lond Eleazar the preest, and Josue, the sone of Nun, and the princes of meynees bi the lynagis of Israel yauen to hem,

2 durch das Los ihres Erbteils; so wie Jehova durch Mose geboten hatte betreffs der neun Stämme und des halben Stammes.

and departiden alle thingis bi lot, as the Lord comaundide in the hond of Moises, to nyne lynagis and the half lynage.

3 Denn das Erbteil der zwei Stämme und des halben Stammes hatte Mose jenseit des Jordan gegeben; den Leviten aber hatte er kein Erbteil in ihrer Mitte gegeben.

For Moises hadde youe to `the twey lynagis and to the half lynage `possessioun ouer Jordan; without the Leuytis, that token no thing of the lond among her britheren;

4 Denn die Söhne Josephs bildeten zwei Stämme, Manasse und Ephraim; und man gab den Leviten kein Teil im Lande, außer Städten zum Wohnen und deren Bezirken für ihr Vieh und für ihre Habe.

but the sones of Joseph weren departid in to twei lynagis, of Manasses and of Effraym, and `weren eiris in to the place of hem. And `the Leuytis token noon other part in the lond, no but citees to dwelle, and the subarbis of tho to werke beestis and her scheep to be fed.

5 So wie Jehova dem Mose geboten hatte, also taten die Kinder Israel, und sie teilten das Land.

As the Lord comaundide to Moises, so the sones of Israel diden, and departiden the lond.

6 Und die Kinder Juda traten in Gilgal zu Josua; und Kaleb, der Sohn Jephunnes, der Kenisiter, sprach zu ihm: Du kennst das Wort, welches Jehova zu Mose, dem Manne Gottes, meinet- und deinetwegen in Kades-Barnea geredet hat.

And so the sones of Juda neiyiden to Josue in Galgalis; and Caleph, the sone of Jephone, of Ceneth, spak to him, Thou knowist, what the Lord spak to Moises, the man of God, of me and of thee in Cades Barne.

7 Vierzig Jahre war ich alt, als Mose, der Knecht Jehovas, mich von Kades-Barnea aussandte, um das Land auszukundschaften; und ich brachte ihm Antwort, wie es mir ums Herz war.

Y was of fourti yeer, whanne Moises, `seruaunt of the Lord, sente me fro Cades Barne, that Y schulde biholde the lond, and Y teelde to hym that, that semyde soth to me.

8 Und meine Brüder, die mit mir hinaufgezogen waren, machten das Herz des Volkes verzagt; ich aber bin Jehova, meinem Gott, völlig nachgefolgt.

Forsothe my britheren, thats tieden with me, discoumfortiden the herte of the puple, and neuertheles Y suede my Lord God.

9 Da schwur Mose an selbigem Tage und sprach: Wenn nicht das Land, auf welches dein Fuß getreten ist, dir und deinen Söhnen zum Erbteil wird ewiglich! denn du bist Jehova, meinem Gott, völlig nachgefolgt.

And Moises swoor in that dai, and seide, The lond, which thi foot trad, schal be thi possessioun, and of thi sones withouten ende; for thou suedist thi Lord God.

10 Und nun siehe, Jehova hat mich am Leben erhalten, so wie er geredet hat, diese 45 Jahre, seitdem Jehova dieses Wort zu Mose geredet hat, als Israel in der Wüste umherwanderte; und nun siehe, ich bin heute 85 Jahre alt.

Sotheli the Lord grauntide lijf to me, as he bihiyte, `til in to present dai. Fourti yeer and fyue ben, sithen the Lord spak this word to Moises, whanne Israel yede bi the wildirnesse. To dai Y am of `foure scoor yeer and fyue,

11 Ich bin heute noch so stark wie an dem Tage, da Mose mich aussandte; wie meine Kraft damals, so ist meine Kraft jetzt zum Streite und um aus- und einzuziehen.

and Y am as myyti, as Y was myyti in that time, whanne Y was sent to aspie; the strengthe `of that tyme dwellith stabli in me `til to dai, as wel to fiyte, as to go.

12 Und nun gib mir dieses Gebirge, von welchem Jehova an jenem Tage geredet hat; denn du hast an jenem Tage gehört, daß die Enakim daselbst sind und große, feste Städte. Vielleicht ist Jehova mit mir, daß ich sie austreibe, so wie Jehova geredet hat.

Therfor yyue thou to me this hil, which the Lord bihiyte to me, while also thou herdist, in which hil ben Enachym, and grete `citees, and strengthid; if in hap the Lord is with me, and Y mai do hem awei, as he bihiyte to me.

13 Und Josua segnete ihn und gab dem Kaleb, dem Sohne Jephunnes, Hebron zum Erbteil.

And Josue blesside hym, and yaf to hym Ebron in to possessioun.

14 Daher ward Hebron dem Kaleb, dem Sohne Jephunnes, dem Kenisiter, zum Erbteil bis auf diesen Tag, weil er Jehova, dem Gott Israels, völlig nachgefolgt war.

And fro that tyme Ebron was to Caleph, sone of Jephone, of Cenez, `til in to present dai; for he suede the Lord God of Israel.

15 Der Name Hebrons war aber vordem: Stadt Arbas; [H. Kirjath-Arba; vergl. 1. Mose 23,2;35,27] er war der größte Mann unter den Enakim. -Und das Land hatte Ruhe vom Kriege.
