Jeremia 1
1 Worte Jeremias, des Sohnes Hilkijas, von den Priestern, die zu Anathoth waren im Lande Benjamin,
The words of Jeremiah the son of Chilkiyahu, one of the priests that were in 'Anathoth in the land of Benjamin;
2 zu welchem das Wort Jehovas geschah in den Tagen Josias, des Sohnes Amons, des Königs von Juda, im dreizehnten Jahre seiner Regierung;
To whom the word of the Lord came in the days of Josiah the son of Amon the king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign,
3 und es geschah auch in den Tagen Jojakims, des Sohnes Josias, des Königs von Juda, bis zum Ende des elften Jahres Zedekias, des Sohnes Josias, des Königs von Juda, bis zur Wegführung Jerusalems im fünften Monat.
And who continued [prophet] in the days of Jehoyakim the son of Josiah the king of Judah, until the end of the eleventh year of Zedekiah the son of Josiah the king of Judah, until the carrying away into exile of Jerusalem in the fifth month.
4 Und das Wort Jehovas geschah zu mir also:
And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
5 Ehe ich dich im Mutterleibe bildete, habe ich dich erkannt, und ehe du aus dem Mutterschoße hervorkamst, habe ich dich geheiligt: zum Propheten an die Nationen habe ich dich bestellt [Eig. eingesetzt.]
Before yet I had formed thee in thy mother's body I knew thee; and before thou wast yet come forth out of the womb I sanctified thee: a prophet unto the nations did I ordain thee.
6 Und ich sprach: Ach, Herr, Jehova! Siehe, ich weiß nicht zu reden, denn ich bin jung [Eig. ein Knabe.]
And I said, Ah, Lord Eternal! behold, I know not how to speak; for I am [but] a lad.
7 Da sprach Jehova zu mir: Sage nicht: Ich bin jung [Eig. ein Knabe; ] denn zu allen, wohin ich dich senden werde, sollst du gehen, und alles, was ich dir gebieten werde, sollst du reden.
And the Lord said unto me, Say not, I am [but] a lad; but to whomsoever I may send thee shalt thou go, and whatsoever I may command thee shalt thou speak.
8 Fürchte dich nicht vor ihnen; denn ich bin mit dir, um dich zu erretten, spricht Jehova [Eig. ist der Spruch Jehovas; so öfter.]
Be not afraid because of them; for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord.
9 Und Jehova streckte seine Hand aus und rührte meinen Mund an, und Jehova sprach zu mir: Siehe, ich lege meine Worte in deinen Mund.
And the Lord stretched forth his hand, and touched [me] therewith on my mouth; and the Lord said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.
10 Siehe, ich bestelle dich an diesem Tage über die Nationen und über die Königreiche, um auszurotten und niederzureißen und zu zerstören und abzubrechen, um zu bauen und um zu pflanzen.
See, I have appointed thee this day over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down: to build up, and to plant.
11 Und das Wort Jehovas geschah zu mir also: Was siehst du, Jeremia? Und ich sprach: Ich sehe einen Mandelstab [Der Mandelbaum, welcher vor allen anderen Bäumen zu blühen beginnt, heißt im Hebr. der Wachsame [Vergl. V. 12].]
And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, What seest thou, Jeremiah? And I said, A staff of all almond-tree do I see.
12 Und Jehova sprach zu mir: Du hast recht gesehen; denn ich werde über mein Wort wachen, es auszuführen.
And the Lord said unto me, Thou hast well seen; for I am watching over my word to perform it.
13 Und das Wort Jehovas geschah zu mir zum zweiten Male also: Was siehst du? Und ich sprach: Ich sehe einen siedenden Topf, dessen Vorderteil gegen Süden gerichtet ist [Eig. von Norden her ist.]
And the word of the Lord came unto me the second time, saying, What seest thou? And I said, A seething pot do I see; and the front thereof is turned from the north.
14 Und Jehova sprach zu mir: Von Norden her wird das Unglück losbrechen über alle Bewohner des Landes.
And the Lord said unto me, Out of the north shall the evil break forth over all the inhabitants of the land,
15 Denn siehe, ich rufe allen Geschlechtern der Königreiche gegen Norden, spricht Jehova, daß sie kommen und ein jeder seinen Thron stellen an den Eingang der Tore Jerusalems und wider alle seine Mauern ringsum, und wider alle Städte Judas.
For, lo, I will call unto all the families of the kingdoms of the north, saith the Lord; and they shall come, and they shall set every one his throne at the entrance of the gates of Jerusalem, and upon all its walls round about, and upon [those of] all the cities of Judah.
16 Und ich werde meine Gerichte über sie sprechen wegen all ihrer Bosheit, daß sie mich verlassen und anderen Göttern geräuchert und vor den Werken ihrer Hände sich niedergebeugt haben.
And I will call them to account touching all their wickedness, in that they have forsaken me, and have burnt incense unto other gods, and have bowed down unto the works of their own hands.
17 Du aber gürte deine Lenden und mache dich auf, und rede zu ihnen alles, was ich dir gebieten werde; verzage nicht vor ihnen, damit ich dich nicht vor ihnen verzagt mache.
But do thou gird up thy loins, and arise, and speak unto them all that I may command thee; be not discouraged because of them, lest I humble thee before them.
18 Und ich, siehe, ich mache dich heute zu einer festen Stadt und zu einer eisernen Säule und zu einer ehernen Mauer wider das ganze Land, sowohl wider die Könige von Juda als auch dessen Fürsten, dessen Priester und das Volk des Landes.
But I, behold, I have made of thee this day a fortified city, and an iron pillar, and brazen walls over the whole land, against the kings of Judah, against its princes, against its priests, and against the people of the land.
19 Und sie werden gegen dich streiten, aber dich nicht überwältigen; denn ich bin mit dir, spricht Jehova, um dich zu erretten.
And [although] they fight against thee, they shall not prevail against thee; for with thee am I saith the Lord, to deliver thee.
