Jeremia 36
1 Und es geschah im vierten Jahre Jojakims, des Sohnes Josias, des Königs von Juda, da geschah dieses Wort von seiten Jehovas zu Jeremia also:
And it came to pass in the fourth year of Jehoyakim the son of Josiah the king of Judah, that this word came unto Jeremiah from the Lord, saying,
2 Nimm dir eine Buchrolle und schreibe darauf alle die Worte, welche ich zu dir geredet habe über Israel und über Juda und über alle Nationen, von dem Tage an, da ich zu dir geredet habe, von den Tagen Josias an bis auf diesen Tag.
Take thee a roll-book, and write therein all the words that I have spoken unto thee against Israel, and against Judah, and against all the nations, from the day that I spoke unto thee, from the days of Josiah, even until this day.
3 Vielleicht wird das Haus Juda auf all das Böse hören, welches ich ihnen zu tun gedenke, damit sie umkehren, ein jeder von seinem bösen Wege, und ich ihre Missetat [O. Schuld] und ihre Sünde vergebe. -
Peradventure it be that the house of Judah will hear all the evil which I purpose to do unto them: in order that they may return every man from his evil way; that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin.
4 Und Jeremia rief Baruk, den Sohn Nerijas; und Baruk schrieb aus dem Munde Jeremias auf eine Buchrolle alle die Worte Jehovas, welche er zu ihm geredet hatte.
Then did Jeremiah call Baruch the son of Neriyah: and Baruch wrote from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the Lord, which he had spoken unto him, upon a roll-book.
5 Und Jeremia gebot Baruk und sprach: Ich bin verhindert, ich kann nicht in das Haus Jehovas gehen;
And Jeremiah commanded Baruch, saying, I am shut up; I am not able to enter into the house of the Lord:
6 so gehe du hin und lies aus der Rolle, was du aus meinem Munde aufgeschrieben hast, die Worte Jehovas, vor den Ohren des Volkes im Hause Jehovas am Tage des Fastens; und du sollst sie auch vor den Ohren aller Juden [Eig. von ganz Juda] lesen, die aus ihren Städten kommen.
Therefore go thou, and read in the roll, which thou hast written from my mouth, the words of the Lord before the ears of the people in the house of the Lord on the fast-day; and also before the ears of all Judah that come out of their cities shalt thou read them.
7 Vielleicht wird ihr Flehen vor Jehova kommen [Eig. niederfallen, weil der Anbeter vor Gott niederfiel; so auch Kap. 37,20;42,2.9,] so daß sie umkehren, ein jeder von seinem bösen Wege; denn groß ist der Zorn und der Grimm, den Jehova über dieses Volk ausgesprochen hat.
Perhaps it may be that they will humbly present their supplication before the Lord, and will return every one from his evil way; for great are the anger and the fury that the Lord hath decreed against this people.
8 Und Baruk, der Sohn Nerijas, tat nach allem, was der Prophet Jeremia ihm geboten hatte, indem er aus dem Buche die Worte Jehovas im Hause Jehovas vorlas.
And Baruch the son of Neriyah did in accordance with all that Jeremiah the prophet had commanded him, to read in the book the words of the Lord in the house of the Lord.
9 Und es geschah im fünften Jahre Jojakims, des Sohnes Josias, des Königs von Juda, im neunten Monat, da rief man ein Fasten aus vor Jehova allem Volke in Jerusalem und allem Volke, das aus den Städten Judas nach Jerusalem kam.
And it came to pass in the fifth year of Jehoyakim the son of Josiah the king of Judah, in the ninth month, that they proclaimed a fast before the Lord for all the people in Jerusalem, and for all the people that came from the cities of Judah unto Jerusalem.
10 Und Baruk las aus dem Buche die Worte Jeremias im Hause Jehovas, in der Zelle Gemarjas, des Sohnes Schaphans, des Schreibers, im oberen Vorhof, im Eingang des neuen Tores des Hauses Jehovas, vor den Ohren des ganzen Volkes.
And Baruch read in the book the words of Jeremiah in the house of the Lord, in the chamber of Gemaryahu the son of Shaphan the scribe, in the upper court, at the entrance of the new gate of the Lord's house, before the ears of all the people.
11 Und Mikaja, der Sohn Gemarjas, des Sohnes Schaphans, hörte alle Worte Jehovas aus dem Buche,
And when Michayhu the son of Gemaryahu, the son of Shaphan, had heard all the words of the Lord out of the book:
12 und er ging zum Hause des Königs hinab in das Gemach des Schreibers; und siehe, daselbst saßen alle Fürsten [d. h. die Obersten von Jerusalem]: Elischama, der Schreiber, und Delaja, der Sohn Schemajas, und Elnathan, der Sohn Akbors, und Gemarja, der Sohn Schaphans, und Zedekia, der Sohn Hananjas, und alle Fürsten.
He went down into the king's house, into the scribe's chamber; and, lo, all the princes were sitting there, even Elishama' the scribe, and Delayahu the son of Shema'yahu, and Elnathan the son of 'Achbor, and Gemaryahu the son of Shaphan, and Zedekiah the son of Chananyahu, and all the princes.
13 Und Mikaja berichtete ihnen alle die Worte, die er gehört hatte, als Baruk vor den Ohren des Volkes aus dem Buche las.
And Michayhu told unto them all the words which he had heard, when Baruch read in the book before the ears of the people.
14 Da sandten alle Fürsten Jehudi, den Sohn Nethanjas, des Sohnes Schelemjas, des Sohnes Kuschis, zu Baruk und ließen ihm sagen: Die Rolle, aus welcher du vor den Ohren des Volkes gelesen hast, nimm sie in deine Hand und komm! Und Baruk, der Sohn Nerijas, nahm die Rolle in seine Hand und kam zu ihnen.
Thereupon sent all the princes Jehudi the son of Nethanyahu, the son of Shelemyahu, the son of Cushi, unto Baruch, saying, The roll wherein thou hast read before the ears of the people, —this take in thy hand, and come. So Baruch the son of Neriyahu took the roll in his hand, and came unto them.
15 Und sie sprachen zu ihm: Setze dich doch und lies sie vor unseren Ohren. Und Baruk las vor ihren Ohren.
And they said unto him, Sit down, we pray thee, and read it before our ears. So Baruch read it before their ears.
16 Und es geschah, als sie alle die Worte hörten, sahen sie einander erschrocken an und sprachen zu Baruk: Wir müssen dem König alle diese Worte berichten.
Now it came to pass, when they heard all the words, they looked terrified at each other, and they said unto Baruch, We will surely tell the king of all these words.
17 Und sie fragten Baruk und sprachen: Teile uns doch mit, wie du alle diese Worte aus seinem Munde aufgeschrieben hast.
And they asked Baruch, saying, Do tell us, How didst thou write down all these words from his mouth?
18 Und Baruk sprach zu ihnen: Aus seinem Munde sagte er mir alle diese Worte vor, und ich schrieb sie mit Tinte in das Buch.
Then said Baruch unto them, With his mouth did he utter clearly all these words unto me, and I wrote them in the book with ink.
19 Und die Fürsten sprachen zu Baruk: Geh, verbirg dich, du und Jeremia, daß niemand wisse, wo ihr seid. -
Then said the princes unto Baruch, Go, hide thyself, thou with Jeremiah; and let no man know where ye are.
20 Und sie gingen zu dem König in den Hof [d. h. den inneren Hof des königlichen Palastes; ] die Rolle aber hatten sie in dem Gemach Elischamas, des Schreibers, niedergelegt; und sie berichteten alle die Worte vor den Ohren des Königs.
And they went in to the king into the court, but the roll they had put in safe keeping in the chamber of Elishama' the scribe; and they told before the ears of the king all the words.
21 Da sandte der König den Jehudi, um die Rolle zu holen; und er holte sie aus dem Gemach Elischamas, des Schreibers; und Jehudi las sie vor den Ohren des Königs und vor den Ohren aller Fürsten, die um den König standen.
But the king sent Jehudi to fetch the roll; and he took it out of the chamber of Elishama' the scribe. And Jehudi read it before the ears of the king, and before the ears of all the princes who stood around the king.
22 Der König aber saß im Winterhause, im neunten Monat, und der Kohlentopf war vor ihm angezündet.
Now the king was sitting in the winter-house in the ninth month: and a pan of coals was burning before him.
23 Und es geschah, sooft Jehudi drei oder vier Spalten vorgelesen hatte, zerschnitt sie der König [W. er] mit dem Schreibermesser und warf sie in das Feuer, das im Kohlentopf war, bis die ganze Rolle in dem Feuer des Kohlentopfes vernichtet war.
And it came to pass, when Jehudi had read three or four pages, that he cut it with the writer's knife, and cast it into the fire that was in the coal-pan, until all the roll was consumed in the fire that was in the coal-pan.
24 Und der König und alle seine Knechte, welche alle diese Worte hörten, erschraken nicht und zerrissen nicht ihre Kleider.
Yet they were not terrified, nor did they rend their garments, either the king, or any of his servants that had heard all these words.
25 Und obwohl Elnathan und Delaja und Gemarja den König angingen, daß er die Rolle nicht verbrennen möchte, hörte er doch nicht auf sie.
And although Elnathan and Delayahu and Gemaryahu had also made intercession with the king that he might not burn the roll, he would not listen to them.
26 Und der König gebot Jerachmeel, dem Königssohne [d. h. einem Prinzen aus dem königl. Geschlecht; wie in 1. Kön. 22,26; 2. Kön. 11,2,] und Seraja, dem Sohne Asriels, und Schelemja, dem Sohne Abdeels, Baruk, den Schreiber, und Jeremia, den Propheten, zu greifen; aber Jehova hatte sie verborgen.
And the king commanded Yerachmeel the son of the king, and Serayahu the son of 'Azriel, and Shelemyahu the son of 'Abdeel, to seize on Baruch the scribe and Jeremiah the prophet; but the Lord hid them.
27 Und das Wort Jehovas geschah zu Jeremia, nachdem der König die Rolle und die Worte, welche Baruk aus dem Munde Jeremias aufgeschrieben, verbrannt hatte, also:
Then came the word of the Lord to Jeremiah, after the king had burnt the roll, and the words which Baruch had written down from the mouth of Jeremiah, saying,
28 Nimm dir wieder eine andere Rolle und schreibe darauf alle die vorigen Worte, die auf der vorigen Rolle waren, welche Jojakim, der König von Juda, verbrannt hat.
Take thee again another roll, and write on it all the former words that have been on the first roll, which Jehoyakim the king of Judah hath burnt.
29 Und über Jojakim, den König von Juda, sollst du sprechen: So spricht Jehova: Du hast diese Rolle verbrannt, indem du sprachst: "Warum hast du darauf geschrieben: Der König von Babel wird gewißlich kommen und dieses Land verderben und Menschen und Vieh daraus vertilgen?"
And concerning Jehoyakim the king of Judah shalt thou say, Thus hath said the Lord, Thou hast indeed burnt this roll, saying, Why hast thou written therein, saying, The king of Babylon shall certainly come and destroy this land, and shall cause to cease therefrom man and beast!
30 Darum spricht Jehova also über Jojakim, den König von Juda: Er wird niemand haben, der auf dem Throne Davids sitze; und sein Leichnam wird hingeworfen sein der Hitze bei Tage und der Kälte bei Nacht [Vergl. Kap. 22,19.]
Therefore thus hath said the Lord concerning Jehoyakim the king of Judah, He shall have no one to sit upon the throne of David; and his dead body shall be cast out to the heat in the day, and to the cold in the night.
31 Und ich will an ihm und an seinem Samen und an seinen Knechten ihre Missetat [O. Schuld] heimsuchen, und will über sie und über die Bewohner von Jerusalem und über die Männer von Juda all das Unglück bringen, welches ich über sie geredet habe; aber sie haben nicht gehört. -
And I will visit on him and on his seed and on his servants their iniquity; and I will bring over them, and over the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and against the men of Judah, all the evil that I have spoken against them, while they did not hearken.
32 Und Jeremia nahm eine andere Rolle und gab sie Baruk, dem Sohne Nerijas, dem Schreiber. Und er schrieb darauf aus dem Munde Jeremias alle Worte des Buches, welche Jojakim, der König von Juda, im Feuer verbrannt hatte. Und es wurden noch viele Worte gleichen Inhalts [W. gleich jenen] hinzugefügt.
And Jeremiah took another roll, and gave it to Baruch the son of Neriyahu the scribe; who wrote thereon from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the book which Jehoyakim the king of Judah had burnt in the fire: and there were yet added unto them many words like them.
