Jeremia 29
1 Und dies sind die Worte des Briefes, welchen der Prophet Jeremia von Jerusalem an die übriggebliebenen Ältesten der Weggeführten und an die Priester und an die Propheten und an das ganze Volk sandte, welches Nebukadnezar von Jerusalem nach Babel weggeführt hatte
And these are the words of the letter that Jeremiah the prophet sent from Jerusalem unto the residue of the elders of the exiles, and to the priests, and to the prophets, and to all the people whom Nebuchadnezzar had carried away into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon;
2 [nachdem der König Jekonja und die Königin, und die Kämmerer, die Fürsten von Juda und Jerusalem, und die Werkleute und die Schlosser aus Jerusalem weggezogen waren],
(After king Jechonyah and the queen-mother, and the court-officers, the princes of Judah and Jerusalem, and the carpenters, and the locksmiths, were departed from Jerusalem; )
3 durch Eleasar, den Sohn Schaphans, und Gemarja, den Sohn Hilkijas, welche Zedekia, der König von Juda, nach Babel zu Nebukadnezar, dem König von Babel, sandte:
By the hand of El'assah the son of Shaphan, and Gemaryah the son of Chilkiyah, [whom Zedekiah the king of Judah sent unto Babylon to Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, ] saying,
4 So spricht Jehova der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels, zu allen Weggeführten, die ich von Jerusalem nach Babel weggeführt habe:
Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, unto all the exiles, whom I have caused to be carried into exile from Jerusalem unto Babylon,
5 Bauet Häuser und bewohnet sie, und pflanzet Gärten und esset ihre Frucht.
Build ye houses, and dwell therein; and plant gardens, and eat their fruit;
6 Nehmet Weiber und zeuget Söhne und Töchter, und nehmet Weiber für eure Söhne, und eure Töchter gebet Männern, damit sie Söhne und Töchter gebären; und mehret euch daselbst, und mindert euch nicht.
Take ye wives, and beget sons and daughters; and take wives for your sons, and give your daughters to husbands, that they may bear sons and daughters; that ye may multiply there, and not be diminished.
7 Und suchet den Frieden [O. die Wohlfahrt] der Stadt, wohin ich euch weggeführt habe, und betet für sie zu Jehova; denn in ihrem Frieden werdet ihr Frieden haben.
And seek the welfare of the city whither I have banished you, and pray in its behalf unto the Lord; for in its welfare shall ye fare well.
8 Denn so spricht Jehova der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels: Laßt euch von euren Propheten, die in eurer Mitte sind, und von euren Wahrsagern nicht täuschen; und höret nicht auf eure Träume, die ihr euch träumen lasset.
For thus hath said the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, Let not your prophets, that are in the midst of you, and your diviners, deceive you, and do not hearken to your dreams which ye cause to be dreamt;
9 Denn sie weissagen euch falsch in meinem Namen; ich habe sie nicht gesandt, spricht Jehova.
For with falsehood do they prophesy unto you in my name: I have not sent them, saith the Lord.
10 Denn so spricht Jehova: Sobald siebzig Jahre für Babel voll sind [Vergl. Kap. 25,11 usw., ] werde ich mich eurer annehmen und mein gutes Wort an euch erfüllen, euch an diesen Ort zurückzubringen.
For thus hath said the Lord, Because only after the accomplishment of seventy years for Babylon, will I visit you, and fulfill respecting you my good word, in causing you to return to this place.
11 Denn ich weiß ja die Gedanken, die ich über euch denke, spricht Jehova, Gedanken des Friedens und nicht zum Unglück, um euch Ausgang [O. Zukunft] und Hoffnung zu gewähren.
For I alone know the thoughts that I entertain respecting you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you a [happy] future and hope.
12 Und ihr werdet mich anrufen und hingehen und zu mir beten, und ich werde auf euch hören.
And you will call upon me, and ye will go and will pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.
13 Und ihr werdet mich suchen und finden, denn ihr werdet nach mir fragen [Eig. trachten] mit eurem ganzen Herzen [Vergl. 5. Mose 4,29; Jer. 24,7;]
And ye will seek me, and shall find me, for ye will search for me with all your heart.
14 und ich werde mich von euch finden lassen, spricht Jehova. Und ich werde eure Gefangenschaft wenden und euch sammeln aus allen Nationen und aus allen Orten, wohin ich euch vertrieben habe, spricht Jehova; und ich werde euch an den Ort zurückbringen, von wo ich euch weggeführt habe.
And I will be found of you, saith the Lord; and I will bring back your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the Lord; and I will cause you to return unto the place whence I have banished you.
15 Wenn ihr saget: Jehova hat uns in Babel Propheten erweckt,
Because ye have said, The Lord hath raised us up prophets in Babylon.
16 ja, so spricht Jehova von dem König, der auf dem Throne Davids sitzt, und von dem ganzen Volke, das in dieser Stadt wohnt, euren Brüdern, welche nicht mit euch in die Gefangenschaft [in die Wegführung, Verbannung] weggezogen sind,
But thus hath said the Lord concerning the king that sitteth upon the throne of David, and concerning all the people that dwell in this city, your brethren that are not gone forth with you into exile;
17 so spricht Jehova der Heerscharen: Siehe, ich sende unter sie das Schwert, den Hunger und die Pest, und will sie machen wie die abscheulichen Feigen, die vor Schlechtigkeit nicht gegessen werden können [Vergl. Kap. 24,8.]
Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, Behold, I will send out against them the sword, the famine, and the pestilence; and I will render them like the detestable figs, that cannot be eaten, from being so bad.
18 Und ich will ihnen nachjagen mit dem Schwerte, mit dem Hunger und mit der Pest; und ich will sie zur Mißhandlung hingeben allen Königreichen der Erde, zum Fluch und zum Entsetzen und zum Gezisch und zum Hohn unter allen Nationen, wohin ich sie vertrieben habe:
And I will pursue after them with the sword, with the famine, and with the pestilence, and will make them a horror unto all the kingdoms of the earth, a curse, and an astonishment, and a derision, and a disgrace, among all the nations whither I have driven them;
19 darum, daß sie auf meine Worte nicht gehört haben, spricht Jehova, womit ich meine Knechte, die Propheten, zu ihnen sandte, früh mich aufmachend und sendend. Und auch ihr habt nicht gehört, spricht Jehova.
For the reason that they have not hearkened to my words, saith the Lord, since I sent unto them my servants the prophets, causing them to rise up early and sending them; but ye would not hear, saith the Lord.
20 Ihr nun, höret das Wort Jehovas, ihr Weggeführten alle, die ich von Jerusalem nach Babel weggeschickt habe!
But ye—hear ye the word of the Lord, all ye exiles whom I have sent away from Jerusalem to Babylon.
21 So spricht Jehova der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels, von Ahab, dem Sohne Kolajas, und von Zedekia, dem Sohne Maasejas, die euch Lügen weissagen in meinem Namen: Siehe, ich gebe sie in die Hand Nebukadrezars, des Königs von Babel, damit er sie vor euren Augen erschlage.
Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, concerning Achab the son of Kolayah, and of Zedekiah the son of Ma'asseyah, who prophesy unto you in my name falsehood, Behold, I will give them up into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon: and he shall smite them before your eyes.
22 Und von ihnen wird ein Fluch entnommen werden seitens aller Weggeführten Judas, die in Babel sind, so daß man sagen wird: Jehova mache dich wie Zedekia und wie Ahab, welche der König von Babel im Feuer braten ließ!
And a curse shall be derived from them for all the exiles of Judah who are in Babylon, saying, “May the Lord make thee like Zedekiah and like Achab, whom the king of Babylon roasted in the fire;”
23 Weil sie eine Ruchlosigkeit [Anderswo: Torheit, Gmeinheit] begangen in Israel und Ehebruch getrieben haben mit den Weibern ihrer Nächsten, und in meinem Namen Lügenworte geredet haben, was ich ihnen nicht geboten hatte; und ich, ich weiß es und bin Zeuge, spricht Jehova. -
Because they have done scandalous deeds in Israel, and have committed adultery with the wives of their neighbors, and have spoken in my name falsehood, which I had not commanded them; whereas I am the one that know, and am the witness, saith the Lord.
24 Und zu Schemaja, dem Nechelamiter, sollst du sprechen und sagen:
And to Shema'yahu the Nechelamite shalt thou say, as followeth,
25 So spricht Jehova der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels, und sagt: Weil du in deinem Namen Briefe gesandt hast an alles Volk, das in Jerusalem ist, und an den Priester Zephanja, den Sohn Maasejas, und an alle die Priester, und gesagt:
Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, saying, Because thou hast sent in thy name letters unto all the people that are at Jerusalem, and to Zephanyah the son of Ma'asseyah the priest, and to all the priests, saying,
26 "Jehova hat dich zum Priester gesetzt anstatt des Priesters Jojada, damit Aufseher seien im Hause Jehovas betreffs jedes Rasenden und Weissagenden, damit du ihn in den Stock und in das Halseisen legest.
The Lord hath appointed thee priest in the place of Jehoyada' the priest, that ye should be superintendents in the house of the Lord, for every man that is mad, and that prophesieth, that thou shouldst put him in the stocks, and in prison:
27 Und nun, warum hast du Jeremia, den Anathothiter, nicht gescholten, der euch weissagt?
And now, why hast thou not rebuked Jeremiah of 'Anathoth, who prophesieth to you?
28 da er ja zu uns nach Babel gesandt und gesagt hat [And. üb.: denn darum hat er gesagt]: Es wird lange dauern; bauet Häuser und bewohnet sie, und pflanzet Gärten und esset ihre Frucht."
For the reason that he hath sent unto us to Babylon saying, It will last a long time: build ye houses, and dwell therein; and plant gardens, and eat the fruit thereof.
29 [Und der Priester Zephanja hatte diesen Brief vor den Ohren des Propheten Jeremia gelesen.]
And Zephanyah the priest read the letter before the ears of Jeremiah the prophet.
30 Und das Wort Jehovas geschah zu Jeremia also:
Then came the word of the Lord unto Jeremiah, saying,
31 Sende hin zu allen Weggeführten und sprich: Also spricht Jehova von Schemaja, dem Nechelamiter: Weil Schemaja euch geweissagt, und ich ihn doch nicht gesandt habe, und er euch auf Lügen hat vertrauen lassen,
Send to all the exiles, saying, Thus hath said the Lord concerning Shema'yah the Nechlamite, Whereas Shema'yah hath prophesied unto you, while I have not sent him, and he hath caused you to rely on a falsehood:
32 darum spricht Jehova also: Siehe, ich will Schemaja, den Nechelamiter, und seinen Samen heimsuchen: Er soll niemanden haben, der inmitten dieses Volkes wohne, und er soll das Gute nicht sehen, welches ich meinem Volke tun werde, spricht Jehova; denn er hat Abfall geredet wider Jehova.
Therefore thus hath said the Lord, Behold, I will inflict punishment on Shema'yah the Nechlamite, and on his seed; he shall not have a man to dwell in the midst of this people; and he shall not behold the good that I am doing for my people, saith the Lord; because he hath spoken revolt against the Lord.
