Jesaja 54

1 Juble, du Unfruchtbare, die nicht geboren, brich in Jubel aus und jauchze, die keine Wehen gehabt hat! denn der Kinder der Vereinsamten sind mehr als der Kinder der Vermählten, spricht Jehova.

Sing, O barren one, that thou hast not born: break forth into song, and rejoice aloud, that thou hast not travailed; for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the Lord.

2 Mache weit den Raum deines Zeltes, und man spanne aus die Behänge deiner Wohnstätte; [Eig. deiner Wohnstätten, d. h. deiner geräumigen Wohnung] wehre nicht! [O. spare nicht] Mache deine Seile lang, und deine Pflöcke stecke fest!

Enlarge the space of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thy habitations, —spare not: lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes;

3 Denn du wirst dich ausbreiten zur Rechten und zur Linken; und dein Same wird die Nationen in Besitz nehmen, und wird die verödeten Städte bevölkern.

For to the right and to the left shalt thou spread forth; and thy seed shall drive out nations, desolate cities shall they repeople.

4 Fürchte dich nicht, denn du wirst nicht beschämt werden, und schäme dich nicht, denn du wirst nicht zu Schanden werden; sondern du wirst der Schmach deiner Jugend vergessen und der Schande deiner Witwenschaft nicht mehr gedenken.

Fear not, for thou shalt not be made ashamed; and be not confounded, for thou shalt not be put to the blush; for the shame of thy youth shalt thou forget, and the reproach of thy widowhood shalt thou not remember any more.

5 Denn der dich gemacht hat, ist dein Mann, -Jehova der Heerscharen ist sein Name-und der Heilige Israels ist dein Erlöser: er wird der Gott der ganzen Erde genannt werden.

For thy husband is thy Maker, the Lord of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel, “The God of all the earth,” shall he be called.

6 Denn wie ein verlassenes und im Geiste betrübtes Weib ruft dich Jehova, und wie ein Weib der Jugend, wenn sie verstoßen ist, spricht dein Gott.

For as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit did the Lord call thee back, and as a wife of youth, that was rejected, saith thy God.

7 Einen kleinen Augenblick habe ich dich verlassen, aber mit großem Erbarmen will ich dich sammeln; [O. aufnehmen]

But for a brief moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I again receive thee.

8 im Zorneserguß habe ich einen Augenblick mein Angesicht vor dir verborgen, aber mit ewiger Güte werde ich mich deiner erbarmen, spricht Jehova, dein Erlöser.

In a little wrath did I hide my face for a moment from thee; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith thy Redeemer the Lord.

9 Denn dieses soll mir sein wie die Wasser Noahs, als ich schwur, daß die Wasser Noahs die Erde nicht mehr überfluten sollten; so habe ich geschworen, daß ich nicht mehr über dich ergrimmen, noch dich schelten werde.

For as the waters of Noah is this unto me; as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more pass over the earth: so have I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee.

10 Denn die Berge mögen weichen und die Hügel wanken, aber meine Güte wird [O. wenn auch die Berge wichen, so wird doch usw.] nicht von dir weichen und mein Friedensbund nicht wanken, spricht Jehova, dein Erbarmer.

For the mountains may depart, and the hills may be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith he that hath mercy on thee, the Lord.

11 Du Elende, Sturmbewegte, Ungetröstete! siehe, ich lege deine Steine in Bleiglanz [Eig. Stibium, womit die orientalischen Frauen ihre Augenlider schwarz färbten, um den Glanz der Augen zu erhöhen; hier als Mörtel gedacht] und gründe dich mit Saphiren;

O thou afflicted, tossed by the tempest, and not comforted, behold, I will lay thy stones with fair colors, and lay thy foundations with sapphires.

12 und ich mache deine Zinnen aus Rubinen und deine Tore von Karfunkeln und dein ganzes Gebiet von Edelsteinen.

And I will make of rubies thy battlements, and thy gates into carbuncle-stones, and all thy borders into precious stones.

13 Und alle deine Kinder werden von Jehova gelehrt, und der Friede deiner Kinder wird groß sein.

And all thy children shall be disciples of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children.

14 Durch Gerechtigkeit wirst du befestigt werden. Sei fern von Angst, denn du hast dich nicht zu fürchten, und von Schrecken, denn er wird dir nicht nahen.

In righteousness shalt thou be established: keep far from oppression, for thou shalt not fear; and from terror, for it shall not come near unto thee.

15 Siehe, wenn man sich auch rottet, so ist es nicht von mir aus; wer sich wider dich rottet, der wird um deinetwillen fallen.

Behold, they that assemble together, are nothing without me: whatsoever assembleth together against thee shall fall under thy power.

16 Siehe, ich habe den Schmied geschaffen, der das Kohlenfeuer anbläst und die Waffe hervorbringt, seinem Handwerk gemäß; und ich habe den Verderber geschaffen, um zu zerstören.

Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have also created the waster to destroy.

17 Keiner Waffe, die wider dich gebildet wird, soll es gelingen; und jede Zunge, die vor Gericht wider dich aufsteht, wirst du schuldig sprechen. [Eig. als schuldig erweisen] Das ist das Erbteil der Knechte Jehovas und ihre Gerechtigkeit von mir aus, [O. mit veränderter Interpunktion: und ihre Gerechtigkeit ist aus mir] spricht Jehova.

No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that will rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their due reward from me, saith the Lord.
