Hosea 9
1 Freue dich nicht, Israel, bis zum Frohlocken, wie die Völker; denn du hast von deinem Gott weg gehurt, hast Buhlerlohn geliebt auf allen Korntennen.
Rejoice not, O Israel, for gladness, as other people; for thou art gone astray, unfaithful to thy God: thou hast loved the wages of sin upon every corn-filled threshing-floor.
2 Tenne und Kelter werden sie nicht ernähren, und der Most wird sie täuschen.
The threshing-floor and the wine-press shall not feed them, and the new wine shall deceive them.
3 Sie werden nicht im Lande Jehovas bleiben, sondern Ephraim wird nach Ägypten zurückkehren, und sie werden Unreines essen in Assyrien.
They shall not dwell in the land of the Lord; but Ephraim shall return to Egypt, and in Assyria will they eat unclean things.
4 Sie werden Jehova keinen Wein spenden, und ihre Schlachtopfer werden ihm nicht angenehm sein: wie Trauerspeise [d. h. wie die bei Leichenmahlzeiten genossene Speise] wird es ihnen sein; alle, die davon essen, werden sich verunreinigen; denn für ihren Hunger [And. üb.: für sie selbst. W. für ihre Seele] wird ihre Speise sein, in das Haus Jehovas wird sie nicht kommen.
They shall not pour out wine to the Lord, and [their offerings] shall not be pleasing unto him; their sacrifices shall be unto them as the bread of mourners; all that eat thereof shall be polluted: for this their food can only be for themselves, it shall not come into the house of the Lord.
5 Was werdet ihr tun am Tage der Feier und am Tage des Festes Jehovas?
What will ye do on the day of the appointed festival, and on the day of the feast of the Lord?
6 Denn siehe, sie sind weggezogen wegen der Zerstörung; Ägypten wird sie sammeln, Moph [Memphis] sie begraben; ihre Kostbarkeiten an Silber werden die Nesseln in Besitz nehmen, Dornen werden in ihren Zelten sein.
For, lo, they are gone forth because of the desolation: Egypt will gather them up, Moph will bury them: the pleasant chambers for their silver, —these shall nettles take possession of; thorns shall [grow] in their tents.
7 Gekommen sind die Tage der Heimsuchung, gekommen die Tage der Vergeltung; Israel wird es erfahren [O. erkennen.] Der Prophet wird närrisch, der Mann des Geistes [d. h. der mit dem Geiste Gottes erfüllt ist] wahnsinnig, wegen der Größe deiner Ungerechtigkeit und der großen Feindseligkeit.
Come are the days of the visitation, come are the days of thy recompense; this shall Israel experience: a fool was the prophet, mad the inspired man, because of the greatness of thy iniquity, and the great hatefulness.
8 Ephraim schaut nach Offenbarungen aus neben meinem Gott; der Prophet-eines Vogelstellers Schlinge ist auf allen seinen Wegen, Feindseligkeit ist im Hause seines Gottes.
The watchman of Ephraim with my God, the prophet, was a snare of the fowler on all his ways, a hateful thing in the house of his god.
9 Tief haben sie sich verderbt [O. Sie sind tief [od. weit] gegangen im Verderbthandeln] wie in den Tagen von Gibea [Vergl. Richt. 19 usw.] Er wird ihrer Ungerechtigkeit gedenken, er wird ihre Sünden heimsuchen.
They are deeply corrupt, as in the days of Gib'ah: he will remember their iniquity, he will visit their sins.
10 Ich fand Israel wie Trauben in der Wüste; wie eine Frühfrucht am Feigenbaum, in seinem ersten Triebe [Eig. in seiner ersten Zeit, ] ersah ich eure Väter. Sie aber gingen nach Baal-Peor und weihten sich der Schande, [Vergl. Jer. 3,24] und sie wurden Greuel wie ihr Buhle.
Like grapes in the wilderness had I found Israel; as the first ripe fruit on the fig-tree in the first of the season had I seen your fathers; but they too went to Ba'al-pe'or: and devoted themselves unto that shameful idol, and became abominations as those they loved.
11 Ephraim-dem Vogel gleich wird ihre Herrlichkeit wegfliegen. Kein Gebären und keine Schwangerschaft und keine Empfängnis:
As for Ephraim, their glory shall fly away like a bird: there is no more birth, and no pregnancy, and no conception.
12 ja, wenn sie auch ihre Söhne groß ziehen, so werde ich sie doch derselben berauben, so daß kein Mann mehr bleibt; denn wehe ihnen [Eig. ja ihnen, od eben ihnen, ] wenn ich von ihnen weichen werde!
But though they were to bring up their children, yet would I bereave them, that there should be no man: yea, woe also to themselves, when I depart from them!
13 Ephraim, wie ich hinschaute, war ein Tyrus [And.: eine Palme; der hebräische Text ist schwer verständlich, ] auf der Aue gepflanzt; aber Ephraim muß [And. üb.: Ephraim-gleichwie ich es zu einem Tyrus ersehen hatte, so soll Ephraim] seine Söhne zum Würger hinausbringen.
Ephraim, as I have seen him like Tyre, planted in a pleasant meadow, —yet this Ephraim shall lead forth to the murderer his children.
14 Gib ihnen, Jehova; was wirst du ihnen geben? Gib ihnen einen unfruchtbaren Mutterleib und trockene Brüste!
Give them, O Lord, what thou wilt give! give them a miscarrying womb and dried-up breasts.
15 Alle ihre Bosheit ist zu Gilgal, denn daselbst habe ich sie gehaßt. Wegen der Bosheit ihrer Handlungen werde ich sie aus meinem Hause vertreiben; ich werde sie nicht mehr lieben; alle ihre Fürsten sind Abtrünnige.
All their wickedness is in Gilgal; for there I [learnt to] hate them; for the wickedness of their doings will I drive them out of my house: I will love them no farther; all their princes are rebels.
16 Ephraim ist geschlagen: ihre Wurzel ist verdorrt, sie werden keine Frucht bringen; selbst wenn sie gebären, werde ich die Lieblinge ihres Leibes töten.
Smitten is Ephraim, their root is dried up, they shall bear no fruit; yea, though they should bring forth, yet would I slay the beloved fruit of their body.
17 Mein Gott verwirft sie, weil sie nicht auf ihn gehört haben; und sie sollen Flüchtlinge sein unter den Nationen.
My God will reject them, because they did not hearken unto him: and they shall be wanderers among the nations.
