1 Mose 10
1 Und dies sind die Geschlechter der Söhne Noahs, Sem, Ham und Japhet: es wurden ihnen Söhne geboren nach der Flut.
And these [are] the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth: and sons are born to them after the flood.
2 Die Söhne Japhets: Gomer und Magog und Madai und Jawan und Tubal und Mesech und Tiras.
Sons of Japheth [are] Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.
3 Und die Söhne Gomers: Askenas und Riphat und Togarma.
And sons of Gomer [are] Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.
4 Und die Söhne Jawans: Elisa und Tarsis, die Kittim und die Dodanim.
And sons of Javan [are] Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.
5 Von diesen aus verteilten sich die Bewohner der Inseln [O. Küstengebiete. Das hebräische Wort bezeichnet überall im Alten Testament die Inseln und Küstengebiete des Mittelländischen Meeres von Kleinasien bis Spanien] der Nationen in ihren Ländern, eine jede nach ihrer Sprache, nach ihren Familien, in ihren Nationen.
By these the islands of the nations have been parted in their lands, each by his tongue, by their families, in their nations.
6 Und die Söhne Hams: Kusch und Mizraim und Put [Äthiopien und Ägypten und Mauretanien] und Kanaan.
And sons of Ham [are] Cush, and Mitzraim, and Phut, and Canaan.
7 Und die Söhne Kuschs: Seba und Hawila und Sabta und Raghma und Sabteka. Und die Söhne Raghmas: Scheba und Dedan.
And sons of Cush [are] Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabtechah; and sons of Raamah [are] Sheba and Dedan.
8 Und Kusch zeugte Nimrod; der fing an, ein Gewaltiger zu sein auf der Erde.
And Cush has begotten Nimrod;
9 Er war ein gewaltiger Jäger vor Jehova; darum sagt man: Wie Nimrod, ein gewaltiger Jäger vor Jehova!
he has begun to be a hero in the land; he has been a hero in hunting before YHWH; therefore it is said, “As Nimrod the hero [in] hunting before YHWH.”
10 Und der Anfang seines Reiches war Babel und Erek und Akkad und Kalne im Lande Sinear.
And the first part of his kingdom is Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar;
11 Von diesem Lande zog er aus nach Assur [And. üb.: Von diesem Lande ging Assur aus] und baute Ninive und Rechobot-Ir und Kalach,
from that land he has gone out to Asshur, and builds Nineveh, even the broad places of the city, and Calah,
12 und Resen zwischen Ninive und Kalach: das ist die große Stadt. -
and Resen, between Nineveh and Calah; it [is] the great city.
13 Und Mizraim zeugte die Ludim und die Anamim und die Lehabim und die Naphtuchim
And Mitzraim has begotten the Ludim, and the Anamim, and the Lehabim, and the Naphtuhim,
14 und die Pathrusim und die Kasluchim [von welchen die Philister [H. Pelischtim] ausgegangen sind, ] und die Kaphtorim.
and the Pathrusim, and the Casluhim (from where have come out Philistim), and the Caphtorim.
15 Und Kanaan zeugte Zidon, seinen Erstgeborenen, und Heth,
And Canaan has begotten Sidon his firstborn, and Heth,
16 und den Jebusiter und den Amoriter und den Girgasiter,
and the Jebusite, and the Amorite, and the Girgashite,
17 und den Hewiter und den Arkiter und den Siniter,
and the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite,
18 und den Arwaditer und den Zemariter und den Hamathiter. Und nachher haben sich die Familien der Kanaaniter zerstreut.
and the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite; and afterward the families of the Canaanite have been scattered.
19 Und das Gebiet der Kanaaniter erstreckte sich von Zidon nach Gerar hin, [W. wenn du nach kommst und gehst: eine stehende Redensart. So auch v 19 am Ende, v 30; Kap. 13,10;25,18] bis Gasa; nach Sodom und Gomorra und Adama und Zeboim hin, bis Lescha. -
And the border of the Canaanite is from Sidon, [in] your coming toward Gerar, to Gaza; [in] your coming toward Sodom, and Gomorrah, and Admah, and Zeboim, to Lasha.
20 Das sind die Söhne Hams nach ihren Familien, nach ihren Sprachen, in ihren Ländern, in ihren Nationen.
These [are] sons of Ham, by their families, by their tongues, in their lands, in their nations.
21 Und dem Sem, dem Vater aller Söhne Hebers, dem Bruder Japhets, des [O. dem] ältesten, auch ihm wurden Söhne geboren.
As for Shem, father of all sons of Eber, the older brother of Japheth, he has also begotten.
22 Die Söhne Sems: Elam und Assur und Arpaksad und Lud und Aram.
Sons of Shem [are] Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram.
23 Und die Söhne Arams: Uz und Hul und Gether und Masch.
And sons of Aram [are] Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash.
24 Und Arpaksad zeugte Schelach, und Schelach zeugte Heber.
And Arphaxad has begotten Salah, and Salah has begotten Eber.
25 Und dem Heber wurden zwei Söhne geboren: der Name des einen war Peleg, [Teilung] denn in seinen Tagen wurde die Erde verteilt; [O. verteilte sich die Bevölkerung der Erde] und der Name seines Bruders war Joktan.
And two sons have been born to Eber; the name of the first [is] Peleg (for in his days the earth has been divided), and his brother’s name [is] Joktan.
26 Und Joktan zeugte Almodad und Scheleph und Hazarmaweth und Jerach
And Joktan has begotten Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah,
27 und Hadoram und Usal und Dikla
and Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah,
28 und Obal und Abimael und Scheba
and Obal, and Abimael, and Sheba,
29 und Ophir und Hawila und Jobab; diese alle waren Söhne Joktans.
and Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab; all these [are] sons of Joktan;
30 Und ihr Wohnsitz war von Meschar nach Sephar hin, dem Gebirge des Ostens. -
and their dwelling is from Mesha, [in] your coming toward Sephar, a mountain of the east.
31 Das sind die Söhne Sems nach ihren Familien, nach ihren Sprachen, in ihren Ländern, nach ihren Nationen.
These [are] sons of Shem, by their families, by their tongues, in their lands, by their nations.
32 Das sind die Familien der Söhne Noahs nach ihren Geschlechtern, in ihren Nationen; und von diesen aus haben sich nach der Flut die Nationen auf der Erde verteilt.
These [are] families of the sons of Noah, by their generations, in their nations, and by these the nations have been parted in the earth after the flood.
