1 Im [2. Chron. 28] 17. Jahre Pekachs, des Sohnes Remaljas, wurde Ahas König, der Sohn Jothams, des Königs von Juda.

In year seven-teen year of Pekah [the] son of Remaliah he became king Ahaz [the] son of Jotham [the] king of Judah.

2 Zwanzig Jahre war Ahas alt, als er König wurde, und er regierte sechzehn Jahre zu Jerusalem. Und er tat nicht, was recht war in den Augen Jehovas, seines Gottes, wie sein Vater David;

[was] a son of Twenty year[s] Ahaz when became king he and six-teen year[s] he reigned in Jerusalem and not he did the right in [the] eyes of Yahweh God his like David ancestor his.

3 sondern er wandelte auf dem Wege der Könige von Israel, und er ließ sogar seinen Sohn durchs Feuer gehen, nach den Greueln der Nationen, die Jehova vor den Kindern Israel ausgetrieben hatte;

And he walked in [the] way of [the] kings of Israel and also son his he made pass in the fire according to [the] abominations of the nations which he had dispossessed Yahweh them from before [the] people of Israel.

4 und er opferte und räucherte auf den Höhen und auf den Hügeln und unter jedem grünen Baume.

And he sacrificed and he made smoke at the high places and on the hills and under every tree luxuriant.

5 Damals zogen Rezin, der König von Syrien, und Pekach, der Sohn Remaljas, der König von Israel, nach Jerusalem hinauf zum Streit; und sie belagerten Ahas, aber sie vermochten nicht wider ihn zu streiten. [Vergl. Jes. 7,1]

Then he came up Rezin [the] king of Aram and Pekah [the] son of Remaliah [the] king of Israel Jerusalem for battle and they laid siege on Ahaz and not they were able to do battle.

6 Zu selbiger Zeit brachte Rezin, der König von Syrien, Elath wieder an Syrien und trieb die Juden aus Elath hinaus; und die Syrer kamen nach Elath, und sie haben dort gewohnt bis auf diesen Tag.

At the time that he restored Rezin [the] king of Aram Elath to Aram and he cleared out the Jews from Elath (and Edomites *Q(K)*) they came Elath and they have dwelt there until the day this.

7 Da sandte Ahas Boten an Tiglath-Pileser, den König von Assyrien, und ließ ihm sagen: Ich bin dein Knecht und dein Sohn; komm herauf und rette mich aus der Hand des Königs von Syrien und aus der Hand des Königs von Israel, die sich wider mich erhoben haben.

And he sent Ahaz messengers to Tiglath-pileser [the] king of Assyria saying [am] servant your and son your I come up and deliver me from [the] hand of [the] king of Aram and from [the] hand of [the] king of Israel who are rising up on me.

8 Und Ahas nahm das Silber und das Gold, das in dem Hause Jehovas und in den Schätzen des Königshauses sich vorfand, und sandte es als Geschenk an den König von Assyrien.

And he took Ahaz the silver and the gold which was found [the] house of Yahweh and in [the] treasuries of [the] house of the king and he sent [it] to [the] king of Assyria a gift.

9 Und der König von Assyrien hörte auf ihn; und der König von Assyrien zog hinauf wider Damaskus und nahm es ein und führte seine Einwohner [W. es] weg nach Kir; und Rezin tötete er.

And he listened to him [the] king of Assyria and he came up [the] king of Assyria to Damascus and he seized it and he took into exile it Kir towards and Rezin he put to death.

10 Und der König Ahas zog Tiglath-Pileser, dem König von Assyrien, entgegen, nach Damaskus. Und als er den Altar sah, der zu Damaskus war, da sandte der König Ahas dem Priester Urija das Gleichnis des Altars und dessen Abbild nach seiner ganzen Bauart. [W. Arbeit]

And he went the king Ahaz to meet Tiglath-pileser [the] king of Assyria Damascus and he saw the altar which [was] in Damascus and he sent the king Ahaz to Uriah the priest [the] likeness of the altar and pattern its for all work its.

11 Und der Priester Urija baute den Altar; nach allem, was der König Ahas von Damaskus gesandt hatte, also machte ihn der Priester Urija, bis der König Ahas von Damaskus kam.

And he built Uriah the priest the altar according to all that he had sent the king Ahaz from Damascus so he did Uriah the priest until came the king Ahaz from Damascus.

12 Und als der König von Damaskus kam, und der König den Altar sah, da trat der König an den Altar und opferte darauf;

And he came the king from Damascus and he saw the king the altar and he drew near the king to the altar and he offered up on it.

13 und er räucherte sein Brandopfer und sein Speisopfer, und goß sein Trankopfer aus, und sprengte das Blut seiner Friedensopfer an den Altar.

And he made smoke burnt offering his and grain offering his and he poured out drink offering his and he sprinkled [the] blood of the peace offerings which [belonged] to him on the altar.

14 Den ehernen Altar aber, der vor Jehova stand, den rückte er von der Vorderseite des Hauses weg, von der Stelle, zwischen seinem [W. dem] Altar und dem Hause Jehovas; und er setzte ihn an die Seite seines [W. des] Altars gegen Norden.

And the altar of bronze which [was] before Yahweh and he brought near from with [the] face of the house from between the altar and from between [the] house of Yahweh and he put it on [the] side of the altar north-ward.

15 Und der König Ahas gebot dem Priester Urija und sprach: Räuchere auf dem großen Altar das Morgen-Brandopfer und das Abendspeisopfer, und das Brandopfer des Königs samt seinem Speisopfer, und das Brandopfer des ganzen Volkes des Landes samt ihren Speisopfern und ihren Trankopfern; und alles Blut der Brandopfer und alles Blut der Schlachtopfer sollst du daran sprengen; und der eherne Altar soll für mich sein zum Erforschen. [O. zum Erwägen [d. h. was ich damit tun will]]

(And he commanded *Q(K)*) the king Ahaz Uriah the priest saying on the altar great make smoke [the] burnt offering of the morning and [the] grain offering of the evening and [the] burnt offering of the king and grain offering his and [the] burnt offering of all [the] people of the land and grain offering their and drink offerings their and all [the] blood of [the] burnt offering and all [the] blood of [the] sacrifice on it you will sprinkle and [the] altar of bronze it will belong to me to consult.

16 Und der Priester Urija tat nach allem, was der König Ahas geboten hatte.

And he did Uriah the priest according to all that he commanded the king Ahaz.

17 Und der König Ahas brach die Felder an den Gestellen ab und tat die Becken, die darauf waren, hinweg; [Vergl. 1. Kön. 7,27-39] und er ließ das Meer von den ehernen Rindern, die darunter waren, herabnehmen und auf eine Unterlage von Steinen setzen.

And he cut off the king Ahaz the rims of the stands and he removed from on them (*Q(K)*) the laver and the sea he took down from on the ox[en] the bronze which [were] under it and he put it on a pavement of stone.

18 Und den bedeckten Sabbathgang, den man am Hause gebaut hatte, und den äußeren Eingang des Königs veränderte er am Hause Jehovas wegen des Königs von Assyrien.

And ([the] covered structure of *Q(K)*) the sabbath which people had built in the house and [the] entrance of the king outer he removed [the] house of Yahweh because of [the] king of Assyria.

19 Und das Übrige der Geschichte Ahas, was er getan hat, ist das nicht geschrieben in dem Buche der Chronika der Könige von Juda?

And [the] rest of [the] matters of Ahaz which he did ¿ not [are] they written on [the] scroll of [the] matters of the days of [the] kings of Judah.

20 Und Ahas legte sich zu seinen Vätern, und er wurde begraben bei seinen Vätern in der Stadt Davids. Und Hiskia, sein Sohn, ward König an seiner Statt.

And he lay down Ahaz with ancestors his and he was buried with ancestors his in [the] city of David and he became king Hezekiah son his in place of him.
