2 Chronik 35

1 Und [2. Kön. 23,21] Josia feierte dem Jehova Passah zu Jerusalem; und man schlachtete das Passah am Vierzehnten des ersten Monats.

And Josiah kept a Passover to the Lord in Jerusalem; on the fourteenth day of the first month they put the Passover lamb to death.

2 Und er stellte die Priester in ihre Ämter und ermutigte sie zum Dienst des Hauses Jehovas.

And he gave the priests their places, making them strong for the work of the house of God.

3 Und er sprach zu den Leviten, welche ganz Israel unterwiesen, die Jehova geheiligt waren: Setzet die heilige Lade in das Haus, welches Salomo, der Sohn Davids, der König von Israel, gebaut hat; ihr habt sie nicht mehr auf der Schulter zu tragen. Dienet nunmehr Jehova, eurem Gott, und seinem Volke Israel;

And he said to the Levites, the teachers of all Israel, who were holy to the Lord, See, the holy ark is in the house which Solomon, the son of David, king of Israel, made; it will no longer have to be transported on your backs: now be the servants of the Lord your God and his people Israel,

4 und bereitet euch nach euren Vaterhäusern, in euren Abteilungen, nach der Schrift Davids, des Königs von Israel, und nach der Schrift seines Sohnes Salomo;

And make yourselves ready in your divisions, by your families, as it is ordered in the writings of David, king of Israel, and of Solomon his son;

5 und stellet euch im Heiligtum auf nach den [O. für die] Klassen der Vaterhäuser eurer Brüder, der Kinder des Volkes, und zwar je eine Abteilung eines Vaterhauses der Leviten;

And take your positions in the holy place, grouped in the families of your brothers, the children of the people, and for every division let there be a part of a family of the Levites.

6 und schlachtet das Passah, und heiliget euch und bereitet es für eure Brüder, daß ihr tuet nach dem Worte Jehovas durch Mose.

And put the Passover lamb to death, and make yourselves holy, and make it ready for your brothers, so that the orders given by the Lord through Moses may be done.

7 Und Josia schenkte [S. die Anm. zu Kap. 30,24] den Kindern des Volkes an Kleinvieh: Lämmer und Ziegenböcklein, -alles zu den Passahopfern für alle, die sich vorfanden-30000 an der Zahl, und 3000 Rinder; das war von der Habe des Königs.

And Josiah gave lambs and goats from the flock as Passover offerings for all the people who were present, to the number of thirty thousand, and three thousand oxen: these were from the king's private property.

8 Und seine Obersten schenkten [S. die Anm. zu Kap. 30,24] freiwillig für das Volk, für die Priester und für die Leviten. Hilkija und Sekarja und Jechiel, die Fürsten [O. Oberaufseher] des Hauses Gottes, gaben den Priestern zu den Passahopfern 2600 Stück Kleinvieh und 300 Rinder.

And his captains freely gave an offering to the people, the priests, and the Levites. Hilkiah and Zechariah and Jehiel, the rulers of the house of God, gave to the priests for the Passover offerings two thousand, six hundred small cattle and three hundred oxen.

9 Und Konanja, und Schemanja und Nethaneel, seine Brüder, und Haschabja und Jeghiel und Josabad, die Obersten der Leviten, schenkten [S. die Anm. zu Kap. 30,24] den Leviten zu den Passahopfern 5000 Stück Kleinvieh und 500 Rinder.

And Conaniah and Shemaiah and Nethanel, his brothers, and Hashabiah and Jeiel and Jozabad, the chiefs of the Levites, gave to the Levites for the Passover offerings five thousand small cattle and five hundred oxen.

10 Und der Dienst wurde eingerichtet; und die Priester standen an ihrer Stelle und die Leviten in ihren Abteilungen, nach dem Gebote des Königs.

So everything was made ready and the priests took their places with the Levites in their divisions, as the king had said.

11 Und sie schlachteten das Passah; und die Priester sprengten das Blut aus ihrer Hand, und die Leviten zogen die Haut ab.

And they put the Passover lambs to death, the blood being drained out by the priests when it was given to them, and the Levites did the skinning.

12 Und sie taten die Brandopfer beiseite, um sie den Klassen der Vaterhäuser der Kinder des Volkes zu geben, um sie Jehova darzubringen, wie im Buche Moses geschrieben steht; und ebenso taten sie mit den Rindern.

And they took away the burned offerings, so that they might give them to be offered to the Lord for the divisions of the families of the people, as it is recorded in the book of Moses. And they did the same with the oxen.

13 Und sie brieten das Passah am Feuer nach der Vorschrift; und die geheiligten Dinge kochten sie in Töpfen und in Kesseln und in Schüsseln, und verteilten sie eilends an alle Kinder des Volkes.

And the Passover lamb was cooked over the fire, as it says in the law; and the holy offerings were cooked in pots and basins and vessels, and taken quickly to all the people.

14 Und danach bereiteten sie für sich und für die Priester; denn die Priester, die Söhne Aarons, waren mit dem Opfern der Brandopfer und der Fettstücke bis zur Nacht beschäftigt; und so bereiteten die Leviten für sich und für die Priester, die Söhne Aarons.

And after that, they made ready for themselves and for the priests; for the priests, the sons of Aaron, were offering the burned offerings and the fat till night; so the Levites made ready what was needed for themselves and for the priests, the sons of Aaron.

15 Und die Sänger, die Söhne Asaphs, waren an ihrer Stelle, nach dem Gebote Davids und Asaphs und Hemans und Jeduthuns, des Sehers des Königs; und die Torhüter waren an jedem Tore: sie hatten nicht nötig, von ihrem Dienste zu weichen, weil ihre Brüder, die Leviten, für sie bereiteten.

And the sons of Asaph, the makers of melody, were in their places, as ordered by David and Asaph and Heman and Jeduthun, the king's seer; and the door-keepers were stationed at every door: there was no need for them to go away from their places, for their brothers the Levites made ready for them.

16 Und so wurde der ganze Dienst Jehovas an jenem Tage eingerichtet, um das Passah zu feiern und die Brandopfer auf dem Altar Jehovas zu opfern, nach dem Gebote des Königs Josia.

So everything needed for the worship of the Lord was made ready that same day, for the keeping of the Passover and the offering of burned offerings on the altar of the Lord, as King Josiah had given orders.

17 Und die Kinder Israel, die sich vorfanden, feierten das Passah zu selbiger Zeit, und das Fest der ungesäuerten Brote sieben Tage lang.

And all the children of Israel who were present kept the Passover and the feast of unleavened bread at that time for seven days.

18 Und es war kein solches Passah in Israel gefeiert worden wie dieses, seit den Tagen Samuels, des Propheten; und alle Könige von Israel hatten kein Passah gefeiert wie dasjenige, welches Josia feierte und die Priester und die Leviten und ganz Juda und Israel, das sich vorfand, und die Bewohner von Jerusalem.

No Passover like it had been kept in Israel from the days of Samuel the prophet; and not one of the kings of Israel had ever kept a Passover like the one kept by Josiah and the priests and the Levites and all those of Judah and Israel who were present, and the people of Jerusalem.

19 Im achtzehnten Jahre der Regierung Josias ist dieses Passah gefeiert worden.

In the eighteenth year of the rule of Josiah this Passover was kept.

20 Nach allem diesem, als Josia das Haus eingerichtet hatte, zog Neko, der König von Ägypten, hinauf, um wider [O. zu] Karchemis am Phrat zu streiten; und Josia zog aus, ihm entgegen.

After all this, and after Josiah had put the house in order, Neco, king of Egypt, went up to make war at Carchemish by the river Euphrates; and Josiah went out against him.

21 Da sandte er Boten zu ihm und ließ ihm sagen: Was haben wir miteinander zu schaffen, König von Juda? Nicht wider dich komme ich heute, sondern wider das Haus, mit dem ich Krieg führe; und Gott hat gesagt, daß ich eilen sollte. Stehe ab von Gott, der mit mir ist, daß er dich nicht verderbe!

But he sent representatives to him, saying, What have I to do with you, O king of Judah? I have not come against you this day, but against those with whom I am at war; and God has given me orders to go forward quickly: keep out of God's way, for he is with me, or he will send destruction on you.

22 Aber Josia wandte sein Angesicht nicht von ihm ab, sondern verkleidete sich, um wider ihn zu streiten; und er hörte nicht auf die Worte Nekos, die aus dem Munde Gottes kamen. Und er kam in das Tal [Eig. die Talebene, Niederung] Megiddo, um zu streiten.

However, Josiah would not go back; but keeping to his purpose of fighting against him, and giving no attention to the words of Neco, which came from God, he went forward to the fight in the valley of Megiddo.

23 Und die Schützen schossen auf den König Josia. Da sprach der König zu seinen Knechten: Bringet mich hinweg, denn ich bin schwer verwundet!

And the bowmen sent their arrows at King Josiah, and the king said to his servants, Take me away, for I am badly wounded.

24 Und seine Knechte brachten ihn von dem Wagen hinweg und setzten ihn auf den zweiten Wagen, den er hatte, und führten ihn nach Jerusalem. Und er starb und wurde in den Gräbern seiner Väter begraben; und ganz Juda und Jerusalem trauerten um Josia.

So his servants took him out of the line of war-carriages, and put him in his second carriage and took him to Jerusalem, where he came to his end, and they put his body in the resting-place of his fathers. And in all Judah and Jerusalem there was great weeping for Josiah.

25 Und Jeremia stimmte ein Klagelied über Josia an. Und alle Sänger und Sängerinnen haben in ihren Klageliedern von Josia geredet bis auf den heutigen Tag; und man machte sie zu einem Gebrauch in Israel. Und siehe, sie sind geschrieben in den Klageliedern.

And Jeremiah made a song of grief for Josiah; and to this day Josiah is named by all the makers of melody, men and women, in their songs of grief; they made it a rule in Israel; and the songs are recorded among the songs of grief.

26 Und das Übrige der Geschichte Josias und seine guten [Eig. frommen] Taten, nach dem, was im Gesetz Jehovas geschrieben steht,

Now the rest of the acts of Josiah, and the good he did, in keeping with what is recorded in the law of the Lord,

27 und seine Geschichte, die erste und die letzte, siehe, sie ist geschrieben in dem Buche der Könige von Israel und Juda.

And all his acts, first and last, are recorded in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah.
