2 Chronik 27
1 Fünfundzwanzig [2. Kön. 15,32] Jahre war Jotham alt, als er König wurde, und er regierte sechzehn Jahre zu Jerusalem; und der Name seiner Mutter war Jeruscha, die Tochter Zadoks.
Twenty and five years old was Jotham when he became king, and sixteen years did he reign in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Yerushah, the daughter of Zadok.
2 Und er tat, was recht war in den Augen Jehovas, nach allem, was sein Vater Ussija getan hatte; nur ging er nicht in den Tempel Jehovas. Aber das Volk handelte noch verderbt.
And he did what is right in the eyes of the Lord, in accordance with all that his father 'Uzziyahu had done: only he entered not into the temple of the Lord. But the people acted still corruptly.
3 Er baute das obere Tor des Hauses Jehovas; auch an der Mauer des Ophel [d. h. Hügel; ein Stadtteil am südöstlichen Abhang des Tempelberges] baute er viel.
He it was that built the upper gate of the house of the Lord, and on the wall of the hill-fort he built much.
4 Und er baute Städte im Gebirge Juda; und in den Wäldern baute er Burgen und Türme.
Moreover he built cities in the mountain of Judah, and in the forests he built castles and towers.
5 Und er stritt mit dem König der Kinder Ammon und überwand sie; und die Kinder Ammon gaben ihm in selbigem Jahre 1000 Talente Silber und 10000 Kor Weizen und 10000 Kor Gerste. Das entrichteten ihm die Kinder Ammon auch im zweiten und im dritten Jahre.
And he likewise fought with the king of the sons of 'Ammon, and prevailed against them. And the children of 'Ammon gave him in that same year one hundred talents of silver, and ten thousand kors of wheat, and ten thousand of barley. So much did the children of 'Ammon pay unto him again, both in the second year, and in the third.
6 Und Jotham erstarkte; denn er richtete seine Wege vor dem Angesicht Jehovas, seines Gottes.
So Jotham became strong; because he directed his ways before the Lord his God.
7 Und das Übrige der Geschichte Jothams, und alle seine Kriege und seine Wege, siehe, sie sind geschrieben in dem Buche der Könige von Israel und Juda.
And the rest of the acts of Jotham, and all his wars, and his ways, lo, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah.
8 Jahre war er alt, als er König wurde, und er regierte sechzehn Jahre zu Jerusalem.
Five and twenty years old was he when he became king, and sixteen years did he reign in Jerusalem.
9 Und Jotham legte sich zu seinen Vätern, und man begrub ihn in der Stadt Davids. Und Ahas, sein Sohn, ward König an seiner Statt.
And Jotham slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David: and Achaz his son became king in his stead.
