Offenbarung 21
1 Dann sah ich einen neuen Himmel und eine neue Erde. Denn der erste Himmel und die erste Erde waren nicht mehr da, und das Meer war verschwunden.
And I saw a new Heaven and a new earth; for the first Heaven and the first earth were gone, and the sea no longer exists.
2 Darauf sah ich die heilige Stadt, ein neues Jerusalem, von Gott aus dem Himmel niedersteigen, so herrlich wie eine für ihren Bräutigam geschmückte Braut.
And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of Heaven from God and made ready like a bride attired to meet her husband.
3 Auch hörte ich eine laute Stimme von dem Thron her rufen: / Gottes Hütte ist jetzt bei den Menschen! Er wird bei ihnen wohnen, und sie sind sein Volk. Er selbst wird unter ihnen weilen als ihr Gott
And I heard a loud voice, which came from the throne, say, "God's dwelling place is among men and He will dwell among them and they shall be His peoples. Yes, God Himself will be among them.
4 und wird von ihren Augen alle Tränen wischen. Es wird kein Tod mehr sein, kein Trauern, keine Klage und kein Leid. Denn was einst war, ist nun vergangen."
He will wipe every tear from their eyes. Death shall be no more; nor sorrow, nor wail of woe, nor pain; for the first things have passed away."
5 Der auf dem Thron saß, sprach: "Ich mache jetzt alles neu." Dann fuhr er fort: "Schreib diese Worte nieder, denn sie sind zuverlässig und wahrhaftig!"
Then He who was seated on the throne said, "I am re-creating all things." And He added, "Write down these words, for they are trustworthy and true."
6 Weiter sprach er zu mir: "Es ist geschehen! Ich bin das A und das O, der Anfang und das Ende. Umsonst will ich dem Durstigen zu trinken geben von dem Quell des Lebenswassers.
He also said, "They have now been fulfilled. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To those who are thirsty I will give the privilege of drinking from the well of the Water of Life without payment.
7 Wer siegt, soll dies ererben: ich will sein Gott sein, und er soll mein Sohn sein.
All this shall be the heritage of him who overcomes, and I will be his God and he shall be one of My sons.
9 Da kam einer von den sieben Engeln, die vorher die sieben Schalen mit den letzten sieben Plagen hatten, und sprach zu mir: "Komm, ich will dir die Braut, das Weib des Lammes zeigen!"
Then there came one of the seven angels who were carrying the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues. "Come with me," he said, "and I will show you the Bride, the Lamb's wife."
10 Im Geist führte er mich nun auf einen großen, hohen Berg und zeigte mir die heilige Stadt Jerusalem, wie sie von Gott aus dem Himmel herabstieg,
So in the Spirit he carried me to the top of a vast, lofty mountain, and showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of Heaven from God,
11 erfüllt mit Gottes Herrlichkeit. Ihr Glanz strahlte wie köstlicher Edelstein, wie durchsichtiger Jaspis.
and bringing with it the glory of God. It shone with a radiance like that of a very precious stone--such as a jasper, bright and transparent.
12 Sie hatte eine große, hohe Mauer mit zwölf Toren. An den Toren standen zwölf Engel, und (in den Toren) waren Namen eingegraben: die Namen der zwölf Stämme der Kinder Israel.
It has a wall, massive and high, with twelve large gates, and in charge of the gates were twelve angels. And overhead, above the gates, names were inscribed which are those of the twelve tribes of the descendants of Israel.
13 Drei Tore lagen nach Osten, drei nach Norden, drei nach Süden und drei nach Westen.
There were three gates on the east, three on the north, three on the south, and three on the west.
14 Die Mauer der Stadt hatte zwölf Grundsteine; darauf standen zwölf Namen: die Namen der zwölf Apostel des Lammes.
The wall of the city had twelve foundation stones, and engraved upon them were twelve names--the names of the twelve Apostles of the Lamb.
15 Der Engel, der mit mir redete, hatte ein goldenes Meßrohr, um die Stadt, ihre Tore und ihre Mauer damit zu messen.
Now he who was speaking to me had a measuring-rod of gold, with which to measure the city and its gates and its wall.
16 Die Stadt bildete ein Viereck, und ihre Länge war so groß wie ihre Breite. Er maß die Stadt mit seinem Rohr: das Ergebnis war dreihundert Meilen. Die Länge, die Breite und die Höhe der Stadt waren gleich.
The plan of the city is a square, the length being the same as the breadth; and he measured the city furlong by furlong, with his measuring rod--it is twelve hundred miles long, and the length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.
17 Dann maß er ihre Mauer: das Ergebnis war hundertvierundvierzig Ellen, und zwar gemessen nach Menschenmaß, das auch das Maß des Engels war.
And he measured the wall of it--a wall of a hundred and forty-four cubits, according to human measure, which was also that of the angel.
18 Die Mauer war ganz aus Jaspis und die Stadt selbst aus lauterem Gold, das durchsichtig war wie reines Glas.
The solid fabric of the wall was jasper; and the city itself was made of gold, resembling transparent glass.
19 Die Grundsteine der Stadtmauer waren mit allerlei köstlichen Edelsteinen geziert. Der erste Grundstein war aus Jaspis, der zweite aus Saphir, der dritte aus Chalzedon, der vierte aus Smaragd,
As for the foundation-stones of the city wall, which were beautified with various kinds of precious stones, the first was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald, the fifth sardonyx, the sixth sardius,
20 der fünfte aus Sardonyx, der sechste aus Sarder, der siebente aus Chrysolith, der achte aus Beryll, der neunte aus Topas, der zehnte aus Chrysopras, der elfte aus Hyazinth, der zwölfte aus Amethyst.
the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, the twelfth amethyst.
21 Die zwölf Tore waren zwölf Perlen; jedes Tor bestand aus einer einzigen Perle. Der Marktplatz der Stadt war aus lauterem Gold (und glänzte) wie Spiegelglas.
And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; each of them consisting of a single pearl. And the main street of the city was made of pure gold, resembling transparent glass.
22 Ich sah keinen Tempel in der Stadt; denn Gott der Herr, der Allgewaltige, ist ihr Tempel und das Lamm.
I saw no sanctuary in the city, for the Lord God, the Ruler of all, is its Sanctuary, and so is the Lamb.
23 Die Stadt braucht nicht Sonnenlicht, nicht Mondlicht; denn die Herrlichkeit Gottes strahlt in ihr, und ihre Leuchte ist das Lamm.
Nor has the city any need of the sun or of the moon, to give it light; for the glory of God has shone upon it and its lamp is the Lamb.
24 In ihrem Licht werden die Völker wandeln, und die Könige der Erde werden ihr die herrlichsten Geschenke bringen.
The nations will live their lives by its light; and the kings of the earth are to bring their glory into it.
25 Tagsüber — denn Nacht wird's dort nicht geben — sollen ihre Tore nie geschlossen werden,
And in the daytime (for there will be no night there) the gates will never be closed;
26 so daß man fort und fort die kostbaren Schätze der Völker in ihre Mauern bringen kann.
and the glory and honor of the nations shall be brought into it.
27 Doch nie darf in sie eingehen irgend etwas Unreines, besonders keiner, der Greuel übt und Lügen redet. Nur solche finden Einlaß, die in des Lammes Lebensbuch verzeichnet sind.
And no unclean thing shall ever enter it, nor any one who is guilty of base conduct or tells lies, but only they whose names stand recorded in the Lamb's Book of Life.
