Psalm 96
1 Singet Jahwe ein neues Lied, / Singt Jahwe, all ihr Erdbewohner!
Sing to Yahweh, a song that is new, Sing to Yahweh, all the earth;
2 Singt Jahwe, preist seinen Namen, / Verkündet tagtäglich sein Heil!
Sing to Yahweh, bless ye his Name, —Tell the tidings, from day to day, of his salvation:
3 Erzählt auch unter den Heiden von seiner Herrlichkeit, / Unter allen Völkern von seinen Wundertaten!
Recount, Among the nations, his glory, Among all the peoples, his wonders.
4 Denn groß ist Jahwe und hoch zu preisen, / Mehr zu fürchten als alle Götter.
For great is Yahweh, and worthy to be mightily praised, To be revered is he above all gods;
5 Denn alle Götter der Völker sind nichtig, / Aber Jahwe hat die Himmel geschaffen.
For, all the gods of the peoples, are things of nought—But, Yahweh, made, the heavens.
6 Glanz und Pracht gehn vor ihm her, / Macht und Schmuck erfüllen sein Heiligtum.
Praise and majesty, are before him, Strength and beauty, are in his sanctuary.
7 Bringt Jahwe, ihr Völkergeschlechter, / Bringt Jahwe Ehre und Preis!
Give to Yahweh, ye families of the peoples, Give to Yahweh, glory and strength;
8 Bringt Jahwe dar seines Namens Ruhm, / Nehmt Opfergaben und kommt in seine Vorhöfe!
Give to Yahweh, the glory of his Name, Bring a present, and enter his courts;
9 Werft euch nieder vor Jahwe in heiligem Schmuck, / Erbebt vor ihm, alle Lande!
Bow down to Yahweh, in the adornment of holiness, Be in anguish at his presence, all the earth!
10 Ruft unter den Heiden: "Jahwe herrscht nun als König! / Auch wird der Erdkreis feststehn ohne Wanken; / Er wird die Völker gerecht regieren."
Say among the nations, Yahweh, hath become King, Surely he hath fixed the world, it shall not be shaken, He will judge the peoples with equity.
11 Drum mögen sich freuen die Himmel, / Die Erde frohlocke, / Es brause das Meer und was darin wohnt!
Let the heavens rejoice, and the earth exult, Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof;
12 Das Gefilde jauchze und was darauf lebt! / Dann sollen auch jubeln alle Bäume im Wald
Let the field, leap for joy, and all that is therein, Then, shall all the trees of the forest, shout in triumph,
13 Vor der Nähe Jahwes, wenn er nun kommt, / Wenn er kommt, um die Erde zu richten. / Richten wird er die Welt gerecht / Und die Völker nach seiner Treue.
Before Yahweh, for he is coming, For he is coming to judge the earth, —He will judge the world, in righteousness, And the peoples, in his faithfulness.
