Matthaeus 19
1 Als Jesus diese Reden beendet hatte, verließ er Galiläa und zog durch das Ostjordanland in das Gebiet von Judäa.
When Jesus had finished these discourses, He removed from Galilee and came into that part of Judaea which lay beyond the Jordan.
2 Eine große Volksmenge begleitete ihn, deren Kranke er dort heilte.
And a vast multitude followed him, and He cured them there.
3 Da traten Pharisäer zu ihm; die wollten ihm eine Falle stellen und fragten ihn: "Darf jemand sein Weib aus jedem beliebigen Grund entlassen?"
Then came some of the Pharisees to Him to put Him to the proof by the question, "Has a man a right to divorce his wife whenever he chooses?"
4 Er antwortete: "Habt ihr nicht gelesen, daß der Schöpfer im Anfang die Menschen als Mann und Weib geschaffen hat?
"Have you not read," He replied, "that He who made them 'made them' from the beginning 'male and female,
5 Und er hat gesagt: Deshalb wird ein Mann Vater und Mutter verlassen und sich aufs engste mit seinem Weib verbinden, und beide werden eins sein.
and said, For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two shall be one'?
6 Sie sind als nicht mehr zwei, sondern eins. Was nun Gott vereinigt hat, das soll der Mensch nicht trennen!"
Thus they are no longer two, but 'one'! What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate."
7 Sie sprachen zu ihm: "Warum hat denn Mose geboten, der Mann solle der Frau einen Scheidebrief ausstellen und dürfe sie dann aus seinem Haus entlassen?"
"Why then," said they, "did Moses command the husband to give her 'a written notice of divorce,' and so put her away?"
8 Er antwortete ihnen: "Wegen eurer Herzenshärtigkeit hat euch Mose erlaubt, eure Frauen zu entlassen. Doch anfangs ist es nicht so gewesen.
"Moses," He replied, "in consideration of the hardness of your nature permitted you to put away your wives, but it has not been so from the beginning.
9 Ich sage euch aber: "Wer sein Weib aus einem anderen Grund entläßt als wegen Unzucht und eine andere heiratet, der ist ein Ehebrecher. Und wer eine (von ihrem Mann) entlassene Frau zum Weib nimmt, der ist auch ein Ehebrecher."
And I tell you that whoever divorces his wife for any reason except her unfaithfulness, and marries another woman, commits adultery."
10 Da sprachen die Jünger zu ihm: "Wenn es zwischen Mann und Weib so steht, dann ist es besser, nicht zu heiraten."
"If this is the case with a man in relation to his wife," said the disciples to Him, "it is better not to marry."
11 Er antwortete ihnen: "Nicht jeder ist dazu fähig, sonder der allein, dem es verliehen ist.
"It is not every man," He replied, "who can receive this teaching, but only those on whom the grace has been bestowed.
12 Es gibt Ehelose, die von Geburt an zur Ehe untüchtig sind, und es gibt Ehelose, denen durch Menschen die Fähigkeit zur Ehe genommen worden ist; aber es gibt auch Ehelose, die mit Rücksicht auf das Königreich der Himmel freiwillig auf die Ehe verzichtet haben. Wer dazu fähig ist, der tue es!"
There are men who from their birth have been disabled from marriage, others who have been so disabled by men, and others who have disabled themselves for the sake of the Kingdom of the Heavens. He who is able to receive this, let him receive it."
13 Dann brachte man kleine Kinder zu ihm, damit er ihnen unter Gebet die Hände auflege. Die Jünger aber fuhren die Leute mit rauhen Worten an.
Then young children were brought to Him for Him to put His hands on them and pray; but the disciples interfered.
14 Doch Jesus sprach: "Laßt die kleinen Kinder zu mir kommen und hindert sie nicht daran! Denn gerade ihnen ist das Himmelreich bestimmt."
Jesus however said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them; for it is to those who are childlike that the Kingdom of the Heavens belongs."
15 Dann legte er ihnen die Hände auf und verließ den Ort.
So He laid His hands upon them and went away.
16 Und siehe, einer trat an ihn heran und fragte: "Meister, was für ein gutes Werk muß ich tun, um das ewige Leben zu erlangen?" (aiōnios g166)
"Teacher," said one man, coming up to Him, "what that is good shall I do in order to win the Life of the Ages?" (aiōnios g166)
17 Er antwortete ihm: "Warum fragst du mich nach dem, was gut ist? Nur ein einziger ist gut. Willst du aber zum Leben eingehen, so halte die Gebote."
"Why do you ask me," He replied, "about what is good? There is only One who is truly good. But if you desire to enter into Life, keep the Commandments."
18 Er sprach zu ihm: "Welche?" Jesus erwiderte: "Diese: Du sollst nicht morden, nicht ehebrechen, nicht stehlen, nicht falsches Zeugnis ablegen!
"Which Commandments?" he asked. Jesus answered, "'Thou shalt not kill;' 'Thou shalt not commit adultery;' 'Thou shalt not steal;' 'Thou shalt not lie in giving evidence;'
19 Ehre Vater und Mutter! Und: du sollst deinen Nächsten lieben wie dich selbst."
'Honour thy father and thy mother'; and 'Thou shalt love thy fellow man as much as thyself.'"
20 Der Jüngling sprach zu ihm: "Dies alles habe ich treu erfüllt. Was fehlt mir noch?"
"All of these," said the young man, "I have carefully kept. What do I still lack?"
21 Da antwortete ihm Jesus: "Willst du vollkommen sein, so gehe hin, verkaufe deine Habe und gib das Geld den Armen: so wirst du einen Schatz im Himmel haben; dann komm und folge mir!"
"If you desire to be perfect," replied Jesus, "go and sell all that you have, and give to the poor, and you shall have wealth in Heaven; and come, follow me."
22 Als der Jüngling das hörte, ging er traurig weg, denn er hatte ein großes Vermögen.
On hearing those words the young man went away much cast down; for he had much property.
23 Da sprach Jesus zu seinen Jüngern: "Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Ein Reicher kommt nur schwer ins Königreich der Himmel.
So Jesus said to His disciples, "I solemnly tell you that it is with difficulty that a rich man will enter the Kingdom of the Heavens.
24 Ja ich sage euch: Ein Kamel kommt leichter durch ein Nadelöhr als ein Reicher in Gottes Königreich."
Yes, I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God."
25 Als die Jünger das hörten, erschraken sie sehr und sprachen: "Ja, wer kann dann überhaupt gerettet werden?"
These words utterly amazed the disciples, and they asked, "Who then can be saved?"
26 Jesus aber sah sie an und erwiderte: "Mit menschlicher Kraft ist das zwar nicht möglich; mit Gottes Hilfe aber ist alles möglich."
Jesus looked at them and said, "With men this is impossible, but with God everything is possible."
27 Da nahm Petrus das Wort und sprach zu ihm: "Sieh, wir haben alles aufgegeben und sind dir nachgefolgt. Welcher Lohn wird uns dafür?"
Then Peter said to Jesus, "See, we have forsaken everything and followed you; what then will be our reward?"
28 Jesus antwortete ihnen: "Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Wenn der Menschen zur Zeit der Wiedergeburt auf dem Thron seiner Herrlichkeit sitzt, dann sollt auch ihr, die ihr mir nachgefolgt seid, auf zwölf Thronen sitzen und die zwölf Stämme Israels als Herrscher leiten.
"I solemnly tell you," replied Jesus, "that in the New Creation, when the Son of Man has taken His seat on His glorious throne, all of you who have followed me shall also sit on twelve thrones and judge the twelve tribes of Israel.
29 Ja jeder, der Geschwister, Eltern, Weib und Kind oder Äcker und Häuser um meines Namens willen fahren läßt, der soll reichen Ersatz dafür empfangen und das ewige Leben als Erbe bekommen. (aiōnios g166)
And whoever has forsaken houses, or brothers or sisters, or father or mother, or children or lands, for my sake, shall receive many times as much and shall have as his inheritance the Life of the Ages. (aiōnios g166)
30 Doch in vielen Fällen werden die Ersten die Letzten und die Letzten die Ersten sein.
"But many who are now first will be last, and many who are now last will be first.
