Lukas 5
1 Eines Tages stand er am Ufer des Sees Genezaret. Das Volk umringte ihn, um Gottes Wort zu hören.
And it came to pass, while the multitude was pressing upon him, and was hearing the word of God, that, he, was standing near the lake of Gennesaret;
2 Da sah er zwei Boote am Ufer liegen; die Fischer aber waren ausgestiegen und reinigten ihre Hochseenetze.
and he saw two boats placed near the lake, and, the fishers, having gone away, from them, were washing their nets.
3 Er trat in eins der Boote und bat Simon, dem es gehörte, eine kleine Strecke in den See hinauszurudern. Dann setzte er sich in dem Boot nieder und lehrte von da aus die Leute.
And, entering into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, he requested him, to put off from the land, a little; and, taking a seat, out of the boat, began he teaching the multitudes.
4 Als er seine Rede beendet hatte, sprach er zu Simon: "Fahr mitten in den See und werft dort eure Netze zum Fangen aus!"
And, when he ceased speaking, he said unto Simon—Put off into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.
5 Simon antwortete ihm: "Meister, wir haben uns die ganze Nacht gemüht und nichts gefangen; doch auf dein Wort will ich die Netze auswerfen."
And Simon, answering, said—Master! although through the whole night we toiled, we took, nothing; howbeit, at thy bidding, I will let down the nets.
6 Sie taten es und fingen eine solche Menge Fische, daß ihre Netze reißen wollten.
And, when this they had done, they enclosed a very large number of fishes, and their nets began to break.
7 Da winkten sie ihren Genossen im anderen Boot, sie möchten kommen und ihnen helfen. Sie kamen, und nun füllte man beide Boote, so daß sie zu sinken drohten. Als Simon Petrus das sah, fiel er vor Jesus nieder und rief aus:
And they made signs to their partners in the other boat, to come and help them; and they came, and filled both the boats, —so that they began to sink.
8 "Herr, gehe weg von mir; ich bin ein sündiger Mensch!"
And Simon, beholding, fell down at the knees of Jesus, saying—Depart from me! Because, a sinful man, am I, O Lord!
9 Denn über diesen Fang, den sie gemacht, waren er und alle seine Gefährten verwundert und entsetzt.
For, amazement, overcame him, and all them who were with him, on account of the draught of the fishes which they had taken;
10 Ebenso ging es Jakobus und Johannes, des Zebedäus Söhnen, die Simons Gehilfen waren. Doch Jesus sprach zu Simon: "Sei ohne Furcht! Von nun an sollst du Menschen fangen."
likewise also, both James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon—Do not fear! henceforth, shall thou be taking, men, that they may, live.
11 Da brachten sie ihre Boote ans Land, verließen alles und folgten ihm. Ein andermal weilte Jesus in einer Stadt.
And, bringing the boats down on to the land, they left all, and followed him.
12 Da war ein Mann voller Aussatz. Als der Jesus sah, fiel er vor ihm auf sein Antlitz nieder und bat ihn: "Herr, wenn du willst, so kannst du mich reinigen."
And it came to pass, while he was in one of the cities, that lo! there was a man full of leprosy; and, seeing Jesus, he fell on his face, and entreated him, saying—Lord! if thou be willing, thou canst cleanse me.
13 Jesus streckte seine Hand aus, rührte ihn an und sprach: "Ich will es, sei gereinigt!" Sofort wich der Aussatz von ihm.
And, stretching forth the hand, he touched him, saying—I am willing: Be cleansed! And, straightway, the leprosy departed from him.
14 Jesus gebot ihm, kein Wort davon zu reden. "Doch", so fügte er hinzu, "geh hin, zeige dich dem Priester und bring für deine Reinigung das Opfer, wie es Mose vorgeschrieben hat, zum Zeugnis für die Leute!"
And, he, charged him to tell, no one, —but, departing, Show thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing, according as Moses enjoined, for a witness unto them.
15 Das Gerücht von ihm verbreitete sich aber immer weiter, und die Leute eilten in großen Scharen herbei, um ihn zu hören und sich von ihren Krankheiten heilen zu lassen.
But the report concerning him the more went abroad, and many multitudes were coming together, to hear, and be getting cured from their infirmities;
16 Doch er hielt sich in der Einsamkeit verborgen, um dort zu beten.
howbeit, he, was retiring in the deserts, and engaging in prayer.
17 Als er eines Tages lehrte, waren die Pharisäer und Gesetzeslehrer zugegen, die aus allen Orten Galiläas und Judäas und aus Jerusalem gekommen waren. Des Herrn Kraft war gerade wirksam, daß er Kranke heilte,
And it came to pass, on one of the days, that, he, was teaching, and there were sitting Pharisees and Teachers of the law, who had come out of every village of Galilee and Judaea and Jerusalem; and, the power of the Lord, was there, that he might heal.
18 als einige Männer einen Gelähmten auf einem Tragbett brachten. Den suchten sie in das Haus zu bringen und vor Jesus niederzusetzen.
And lo! men bearing, upon a couch, one who was paralyzed, and they were seeking to bring him in, and lay him before him.
19 Aber der vielen Menschen wegen war es ihnen unmöglich, ihn hineinzutragen. Deshalb stiegen sie auf das Dach und ließen ihn samt dem Bett durch die Ziegel mitten unter die Leute unmittelbar vor Jesus nieder.
And, not finding by what means they might bring him in, because of the multitude, going up on the house-top, through the tiling, let they him down, with the little-couch, into the midst before Jesus.
20 Als Jesus ihren Glauben sah, sprach er: "Mensch, deine Sünden sind dir vergeben!"
And, beholding their faith, he said—O man! thy sins are forgiven thee.
21 Da begannen die Schriftgelehrten und die Pharisäer bei sich zu denken: "Was ist das für eine Mann? Er lästert ja Gott! Wer kann Sünden vergeben als Gott allein?"
And the Scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying—Who is this that speaketh profanities? Who can forgive, sins, save, God alone?
22 Jesus aber durchschaute ihre Gedanken und sprach zu ihnen:
And Jesus, taking note of their reasonings, answering, said unto them—Why are ye reasoning in your hearts?
23 "Was denkt ihr da in euern Herzen? Was ist leichter, zu sagen: 'Deine Sünden sind dir vergeben' oder das Wort zu sprechen: 'Steh auf und wandle'?
Which is easier, To say—Thy sins are forgiven thee; or to say—Arise and be walking?
24 Ihr sollt aber sehen, daß der Menschensohn die Vollmacht hat, auf Erden Sünden zu vergeben." Nun wandte er sich zu dem Gelähmten und sprach: "Ich sage dir: Steh auf, nimm dein Bett und geh nach Hause!"
But, that ye may know that, the Son of Man, hath, authority, upon the earth to forgive sins—he said to the paralyzed man—To thee, I say, Arise, and, taking up thy couch, be going thy way unto thy house.
25 Sofort stand er vor ihren Augen auf, nahm sein Bett, worauf er gelegen, und ging Gott preisend in sein Haus zurück.
And, instantly arising before them, he took up that whereon he had been lying, and departed unto his house, glorifying God.
26 Von Staunen ergriffen, priesen alle Gott und, von heiliger Scheu erfüllt, bekannten sie: "Wir haben heute wunderbare Dinge erlebt!"
And, astonishment, seized one and all, and they began glorifying God, and were filled with fear, saying—We have seen unaccountable things, to-day!
27 Dann verließ Jesus das Haus und sah einen Zöllner namens Levi vor seinem Zollhaus sitzen. Zu dem sprach er: "Folge mir nach!"
And, after these things, he went forth, and looked upon a tax-collector, by name Levi, —presiding over the tax-office; and he said to him—Be following me!
28 Da stand er auf, verließ alles und folgte ihm.
And, forsaking all, he arose, and was following him.
29 Und Levi gab Jesus zu Ehren ein großes Festmahl in seinem Haus. Daran nahmen außer Jesus und seinen Jüngern auch viele Zöllner und andere Gäste teil.
And Levi made a great reception for him, in his house, and there was a great multitude of tax-collectors, and others, —who were with them reclining.
30 Darüber murrten die Pharisäer und die Schriftgelehrten, die ihrer Richtung angehörten, im Gespräch mit seinen Jüngern. "Warum", so fragten sie, "eßt und trinkt ihr denn mit solchen Zöllnern und Sündern?"
And the Pharisees and their Scribes began murmuring unto his disciples, saying—Wherefore, with the tax-collectors and sinners, are ye eating and drinking?
31 Jesus antwortete ihnen: "Die Gesunden bedürfen des Arztes nicht, sondern die Kranken.
And, answering, Jesus said unto them—No need, have, the whole, of a physician, but, they who are sick.
32 Ich bin nicht gekommen, um Gerechte zur Sinnesänderung zu rufen, sondern Sünder."
I have not come to call, righteous, men, but, sinners, unto repentance.
33 Weiter sprachen sie zu ihm: "Die Jünger des Johannes fasten so oft und beten, und ebenso die Jünger der Pharisäer; doch deine Jünger essen und trinken (ganz unbedenklich)."
But, they, said unto him—The disciples of John, do fast much, and, supplications, do make, —likewise also the disciples of the Pharisees; but, thine, do eat and drink!
34 Jesus sprach zu ihnen: "Könnt ihr denn die Hochzeitsgäste zum Fasten nötigen, solange der Bräutigam bei ihnen ist?
Jesus, however, said unto them—Can, ye make, the sons of the bridechamber, fast, while the bridegroom is with them?
35 Aber es kommt die Zeit dafür: wenn ihnen der Bräutigam entrissen ist, dann werden sie fasten."
But there will come days, even when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, then, will they fast, in those days.
36 Er sagte ihnen auch ein Gleichnis: "Niemand schneidet einen Flicken von einem neue Kleid und setzt ihn auf ein altes. Sonst zerreißt er das neue Kleid, und zu dem alten paßt der Flicken vom neuen nicht.
Moreover, he went on to speak, a parable also, unto them—No one, rending a patch from a new mantle, patcheth it upon an old mantle; otherwise, at least, both, the new, he will rend, and, with the old, the patch which is from the new, will not agree.
37 Es gießt auch niemand neuen Wein in alte Schläuche. Sonst zerreißt der neue Wein die Schläuche: dann fließt er aus, und die Schläuche sind verloren.
And, no one, poureth new wine into old skins; otherwise, at least, the new wine, will burst the skins, and will, itself, be poured out, and the skins be destroyed.
38 Man muß vielmehr neuen Wein in neue Schläuche gießen.
But, new wine, into unused skins, must be poured.
39 Und niemand, der alten Wein getrunken hat, mag neuen. Denn er sagt: der alte ist besser."
[No one, having drunk old, desireth new; for he saith, The old, is, mellow.]
