Johannes 5
1 Darauf war ein Fest der Juden, und Jesus zog hinauf nach Jerusalem.
After these things, there was a Judean [Person from Praise] festival, and Yeshua [Salvation] went up to Jerusalem [City of peace].
2 In Jerusalem liegt dicht bei dem Schaftor ein Teich, der heißt auf hebräisch Bethzatha und hat fünf Hallen.
Now in Jerusalem [City of peace] by the sheep gate, there is a pool with five porches, which is called in Hebrew [Immigrant], “Bethesda [House of mercy]”.
3 Darin lagen viele Kranke: Blinde, Lahme und Schwindsüchtige.
In these lay a great multitude of those who were sick, blind, lame, or paralyzed, waiting for the moving of the water;
for an angel went down at certain times into the pool, and stirred up the water. Whoever stepped in first after the stirring of the water was healed of whatever disease he had.
5 Nun war ein Mann da, der schon achtunddreißig Jahre an seiner Krankheit gelitten hatte.
A certain man was there, who had been sick for thirty-eight years.
6 Als Jesus den daliegen sah und erfuhr, daß er schon so lange leidend gewesen war, fragte er ihn: "Willst du gesund werden?"
When Yeshua [Salvation] saw him lying there, and knew that he had been sick for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to be made well?”
7 Der Kranke antwortete ihm: "Herr, ich habe keinen Menschen, der mich, wenn das Wasser in Bewegung kommt, schnell in den Teich hineinbringt. Während ich dann hingehe, steigt schon ein anderer vor mir hinab."
The sick man answered him, “Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, but while I’m coming, another steps down before me.”
8 Jesus sprach zu ihm: "Steh auf, nimm dein Bett und geh!"
Yeshua [Salvation] said to him, “Arise, take up your mat, and walk.”
9 Sofort ward der Mann gesund: er nahm sein Bett und konnte gehen. Dies geschah an einem Sabbat.
Immediately, the man was made well, and took up his mat and walked. Now it was the Sabbath ·To cease· on that day.
10 Da sprachen die Juden zu dem Geheilten: "Heute ist Sabbat; da darfst du nicht dein Bett tragen!"
So the Jews [Praisers] said to him who was cured, “It is the Sabbath ·To cease·! It is against Torah ·Teaching· for you to carry your mat!”
11 Er aber antwortete ihnen: "Der Mann, der mich gesund gemacht hat, der hat zu mir gesagt: 'Nimm dein Bett und geh!'"
He answered them, “He who made me well, the same said to me, ‘Take up your mat, and walk.’”
12 Da fragten sie ihn: "Wer ist der Mann, der zu dir gesagt hat: 'Nimm dein Bett und geh?'"
Then they asked him, “Who is the man who said to you, ‘Take up your mat, and walk’?”
13 Der Geheilte aber wußte nicht, wer es war. Denn Jesus hatte sich damals (um Aufsehen zu vermeiden) unbemerkt entfernt, weil viele Leute an dem Ort waren.
But he who was healed didn’t know who it was, for Yeshua [Salvation] had withdrawn, a crowd being in the place.
14 Später traf ihn Jesus im Tempel und sprach zu ihm: "Du bist jetzt gesund geworden; sündige nun nicht wieder, damit dir nicht noch Schlimmeres widerfahre!"
Afterward Yeshua [Salvation] found him in the temple, and said to him, “Behold, you are made well. Commit sin ·miss the mark and be without share· no more, so that nothing worse happens to you.”
15 Da ging der Mann hin und teilte den Juden mit, Jesus habe ihn gesund gemacht.
The man went away, and told the Jews [Praisers] that it was Yeshua [Salvation] who had made him well.
16 Weil Jesus solche Werke am Sabbat tat, begannen ihn die Juden zu verfolgen.
For this cause the Jews [Praisers] persecuted Yeshua [Salvation], and sought to kill him, because he did these things on the Sabbath ·To cease·.
17 Jesus aber sprach zu ihnen: "Mein Vater wirkt unaufhörlich, und ebenso wirke ich."
But Yeshua [Salvation] answered them, “'Avi [My Father] is still working, so I am working, too.”
18 Deshalb trachteten ihm die Juden noch viel mehr nach dem Leben, weil er nicht nur den Sabbat brach, sondern auch behauptete, Gott sei in besonderem Sinn sein Vater, und sich damit Gott gleichstelle.
For this cause therefore the Jews [Praisers] sought all the more to kill him, because he not only broke the Sabbath ·To cease·, but also called God 'Aviv ·his Father·, making himself equal with God.
19 Da nahm Jesus das Wort und sprach zu ihnen: "Wahrlich, wahrlich, ich sage euch: Der Sohn kann nichts aus eigener Vollmacht tun; er tut nur das, was er den Vater tun sieht. Denn was der tut, das tut der Sohn in gleicher Weise.
Yeshua [Salvation] therefore answered them, “Most certainly, I tell you, the Son can do nothing of himself, but what he sees Abba ·Father· doing. For whatever things he does, these the Son also does likewise.
20 Denn der Vater hat den Sohn lieb und zeigt ihm alles, was er selber tut. Ja größere Werke noch als diese wird er ihm zeigen, daß ihr euch wundern sollt.
For Abba ·Father· has phileo ·affectionate love, high regard· for the Son, and shows him all things that he himself does. He will show him greater works than these, that you may marvel.
21 Denn wie der Vater die Toten auferweckt und sie lebendig macht, so auch der Sohn: er macht lebendig, wen er will.
For as Abba ·Father· raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son also gives life to whom he desires.
22 Denn nicht der Vater ist's, der jemand richtet, er hat vielmehr das Richten ganz dem Sohn übertragen,
For the Abba ·Father· judges no one, but he has given all judgment to the Son,
23 damit alle ihn, den Sohn, so ehren, wie sie den Vater ehren. Wer den Sohn nicht ehrt, der ehrt auch nicht den Vater, der den Sohn gesandt.
that all may honor the Son, even as they honor haAbba ·the Father·. He who does not honor the Son does not honor haAbba ·the Father· who sent him.
24 Wahrlich, wahrlich, ich sage euch: Wer meinem Wort gehorcht und glaubt dem, der mich gesandt, der hat das ewige Leben und kommt in kein Gericht, er ist vielmehr vom Tod durchgedrungen in das Leben. (aiōnios g166)
“Most certainly I tell you, he who hears my word, and trusts him who sent me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life. (aiōnios g166)
25 Wahrlich, wahrlich, ich sage euch: Es kommt die Stunde, ja sie ist schon da, wo die Toten des Gottessohnes Stimme hören, und alle, die ihr folgen, sollen leben.
Most certainly, I tell you, the hour comes, and now is, when the dead will hear the Ben-Elohim ·Son of Elohim God·’s voice; and those who hear will live.
26 Denn wie der Vater Leben in sich trägt, so hat er auch dem Sohn verliehen, Leben in sich zu tragen.
For as Abba Father has life in himself, even so he gave to the Son also to have life in himself.
27 Ja, er hat ihm die Macht gegeben, Gericht zu halten; denn er ist Menschensohn.
He also gave him authority to execute judgment, because he is a son of man.
28 Seid nicht darob verwundert, daß die Stunde kommt, da alle in den Gräbern seine Stimme hören.
Don’t marvel at this, for the hour comes, in which all that are in the tombs will hear his voice,
29 Dann werden sie hervorgehen: Die da gut gehandelt haben, zu einer Auferstehung, die das Leben bringt, und die das Böse ausgeführt, zur Auferstehung des Gerichts.
and will come out; those who have done good, to the resurrection of life; and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of judgment.
30 Ich kann nichts eigenmächtig tun. So wie ich höre, richte ich, und dies mein Urteil ist gerecht, weil ich nicht meinen Willen auszuführen suche, vielmehr den Willen des, der mich gesandt.
I can of myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge, and my judgment is upright; because I don’t seek my own will, but the will of 'Avi ·my Father· who sent me.
31 Wenn ich nur zeugen wollte für mich selbst, mein Zeugnis hätte keine Gültigkeit.
“If I testify about myself, my witness is not valid.
32 Ein anderer ist's, der für mich zeugt. Ich weiß auch, daß das Zeugnis wahr ist, das er für mich ablegt.
It is another who testifies about me. I know that the testimony which he testifies about me is true.
33 Ihr sandtet zu Johannes, der hat gezeugt für die Wahrheit.
You have sent to John [Yah is gracious], and he has testified to the truth.
34 Ich aber nehme nicht von einem Menschen Zeugnis an. Ich rede nur davon, damit ihr Rettung findet.
But the testimony which I receive is not from man. However, I say these things that you may be saved.
35 Er war die Leuchte, die mit hellem Schein brannte, ihr aber wolltet euch nur eine Weile freuen an jenem Lichterglanz, den er strahlen ließ.
He was the burning and shining lamp, and you were willing to rejoice for a while in his light.
36 Das Zeugnis aber, das ich habe, steht höher als das Zeugnis des Johannes: Denn die Werke, die ich in meines Vaters Auftrag auszurichten habe, — die Werke, die ich tue —, die legen Zeugnis ab, daß mich der Vater hat gesandt.
But the testimony which I have is greater than that of John [Yah is gracious], for the works which Abba Father gave me to accomplish, the very works that I do, testify about me, that the Abba ·Father· has sent me.
37 Und auch der Vater selbst, der mich gesandt, hat Zeugnis für mich abgelegt. Des Vaters Stimme habt ihr nie gehört, sein Aussehen habt ihr nie geschaut.
Abba ·Father· himself, who sent me, has testified about me. You have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his form.
38 Sein Wort habt ihr nicht in euch wohnen; denn dem, den er gesandt, dem glaubt ihr nicht.
You don’t have his word living in you; because you don’t trust him whom he sent.
39 Ihr forscht wohl in den Schriften; denn ihr meint, schon darin hättet ihr das ewige Leben, und sie sind's auch, die von mir zeugen. (aiōnios g166)
“You search the Scriptures, because you think that in them you have eternal life; and these are they which testify about me. (aiōnios g166)
40 Trotzdem wollt ihr nicht zu mir kommen, damit ihr Leben habt.
Yet you will not come to me, that you may have life.
41 Ehre, die von Menschen kommt, die weise ich zurück.
I don’t receive glory from men.
42 Euch aber kenne ich genau und weiß, daß ihr die Gottesliebe nicht in euern Herzen habt.
But I know you, that you don’t have God’s agape ·unconditional love· in yourselves.
43 Ich bin in meines Vaters Namen aufgetreten, doch ihr nehmt mich nicht an. Tritt einst ein anderer auf in seinem eigenen Namen, den werdet ihr annehmen.
I have come in 'Avi ·my Father·’s name, and you don’t receive me. If another comes in his own name, you will receive him.
44 Wie könnt ihr zum Glauben kommen, wenn ihr euch ehren laßt von euresgleichen und nicht nach jener Ehre trachtet, die von dem einen Gott kommt?
How can you trust, who receive glory from one another, and you don’t seek the glory that comes from the only God?
45 Denkt nicht, ich wolle euch verklagen bei dem Vater. Es ist schon einer da, der euch verklagt: Mose, auf den ihr eure Hoffnung setzt.
“Don’t think that I will accuse you to Abba Father. There is one who accuses you, even Moses [Drawn out], on whom you have set your hope.
46 Denn wenn ihr Mose glaubtet, so glaubtet ihr auch mir. Von mir hat jener ja geschrieben.
For if you trusted Moses [Drawn out], you would trust me; for he wrote about me.
47 Glaubt ihr nun aber Moses Schriften nicht, wie werdet ihr da meinen Worten glauben?"
But if you don’t trust his writings, how will you trust my words?”
