Johannes 21
1 Danach offenbarte sich Jesus nochmals seinen Jüngern. Das geschah an dem See Tiberias. Er offenbarte sich aber so:
After this, Jesus shewed himself again to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias. And he shewed himself after this manner.
2 Simon Petrus, Thomas, mit dem Beinamen "Zwilling", Nathanael aus Kana in Galiläa, die Söhne des Zebedäus und zwei andere seiner Jünger waren beisammen.
There were together Simon Peter, and Thomas, who is called Didymus, and Nathanael, who was of Cana of Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two others of his disciples.
3 Da sprach Simon Petrus zu ihnen: "Ich will fischen gehen." Die anderen sagten: "Wir kommen mit." Sie gingen hinaus (an den See) und stiegen in ihr Boot. Aber in jener Nacht fingen sie nichts.
Simon Peter saith to them: I go a fishing. They say to him: We also come with thee. And they went forth, and entered into the ship: and that night they caught nothing.
4 Bei Tagesanbruch stand Jesus am Ufer. Doch die Jünger wußten nicht, daß es Jesus war.
But when the morning was come, Jesus stood on the shore: yet the disciples knew not that it was Jesus.
5 Da fragte sie Jesus: "Kinder, habt ihr nichts zu essen?" "Nein!" war ihre Antwort.
Jesus therefore said to them: Children, have you any meat? They answered him: No.
6 Da fuhr er fort: "Werft euer Netz rechts vom Boot aus, dann macht ihr einen Fang!" Sie warfen es aus und konnten es nicht mehr emporziehen, so voll war es von Fischen.
He saith to them: Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and you shall find. They cast therefore; and now they were not able to draw it, for the multitude of fishes.
7 Da sprach der Jünger, den Jesus liebte, zu Petrus: "Es ist der Herr!" Als Simon Petrus hörte, es sei der Herr, da warf er, weil er nackt war, sein kurzes Hemd über und sprang ins Wasser.
That disciple therefore whom Jesus loved, said to Peter: It is the Lord. Simon Peter, when he heard that it was the Lord, girt his coat about him, (for he was naked, ) and cast himself into the sea.
8 Die anderen Jünger kamen in dem kleinen Boot — denn sie waren nur noch etwa zweihundert Ellen vom Land entfernt — und schleppten das Netz mit den Fischen hinter sich her.
But the other disciples came in the ship, (for they were not far from the land, but as it were two hundred cubits, ) dragging the net with fishes.
9 Wie sie nun ans Land stiegen, sahen sie ein Kohlenfeuer brennen; darauf briet Fisch, und es lag Brot dabei.
As soon then as they came to land, they saw hot coals lying, and a fish laid thereon, and bread.
10 Jesus sprach zu ihnen: "Bringt von den Fischen, die ihr eben gefangen habt!"
Jesus saith to them: Bring hither of the fishes which you have now caught.
11 Da stieg Petrus in das Boot und zog das Netz ans Land: es war voll großer Fische, im ganzen einhundertunddreiundfünfzig. Aber trotz dieser großen Menge war das Netz nicht zerrissen.
Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land, full of great fishes, one hundred and fifty-three. And although there were so many, the net was not broken.
12 Nun forderte sie Jesus auf: "Kommt her und eßt!" Keiner aber von den Jüngern wagte ihn zu fragen: "Wer bist du?" Denn sie wußten, es war der Herr.
Jesus saith to them: Come, and dine. And none of them who were at meat, durst ask him: Who art thou? knowing that it was the Lord.
13 Jesus kam nun, nahm das Brot und gab es ihnen, ebenso auch die Fische.
And Jesus cometh and taketh bread, and giveth them, and fish in like manner.
14 Dies war nun schon das dritte Mal, daß sich Jesus nach seiner Auferstehung von den Toten seinen Jüngern offenbarte.
This is now the third time that Jesus was manifested to his disciples, after he was risen from the dead.
15 Nach diesem Mahl sprach Jesus zu Simon Petrus: "Simon, des Johannes Sohn, liebst du mich mehr als diese hier?" Er antwortete ihm: "Ja, Herr, du weißt, daß ich dich liebhabe." Jesus sprach zu ihm: "Weide meine Lämmer!"
When therefore they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter: Simon son of John, lovest thou me more than these? He saith to him: Yea, Lord, thou knowest that I love thee. He saith to him: Feed my lambs.
16 Dann fragte er ihn zum zweitenmal: "Simon, des Johannes Sohn, liebst du mich?" Er antwortete ihm: "Ja, Herr, du weißt, daß ich dich liebhabe." Jesus sprach zu ihm: "Leite meine Schafe!"
He saith to him again: Simon, son of John, lovest thou me? He saith to him: Yea, Lord, thou knowest that I love thee. He saith to him: Feed my lambs.
17 Dann fragte er ihn zum drittenmal: "Simon, des Johannes Sohn, hast du mich lieb?" Petrus war betrübt, daß er ihn zum drittenmal fragte: "Hast du mich lieb?" und er antwortete ihm: "Herr, du weißt alles; du siehst: ich habe dich lieb!" Jesus sprach zu ihm: "Weide meine Schafe!
He said to him the third time: Simon, son of John, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved, because he had said to him the third time: Lovest thou me? And he said to him: Lord, thou knowest all things: thou knowest that I love thee. He said to him: Feed my sheep.
18 Wahrlich, wahrlich, ich sage dir: Als du noch jünger warst, pflegtest du dich selbst zu gürten und nach eigener Wahl umherzugehen. Doch bist du einst ein alter Mann, so wirst du deine Hände ausstrecken, und andere werden dich gürten und dich zu einer Stätte führen, die du dir nicht gewählt hast."
Amen, amen I say to thee, when thou wast younger, thou didst gird thyself, and didst walk where thou wouldst. But when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and lead thee whither thou wouldst not.
19 - Mit diesen Worten wollte er andeuten, durch welchen Tod er Gott verherrlichen sollte. — Dann fuhr er fort: "Komm mit mir!"
And this he said, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when he had said this, he saith to him: Follow me.
20 Petrus wandte sich um und sah, wie auch der Jünger mitkam, den Jesus liebhatte — derselbe, der sich auch bei dem bekannten Mahl an seine Brust gelehnt und ihn gefragt hatte: "Herr, wer ist denn dein Verräter?" —
Peter turning about, saw that disciple whom Jesus loved following, who also leaned on his breast at supper, and said: Lord, who is he that shall betray thee?
21 Als Petrus ihn erblickte, sprach er zu Jesus: "Herr, wie wird es ihm ergehen?"
Him therefore when Peter had seen, he saith to Jesus: Lord, and what shall this man do?
22 Jesus erwiderte ihm: "Wenn es mein Wille ist, daß er am Leben bleibe, bis ich komme, was geht es dich an? Komm du jetzt mit mir!"
Jesus saith to him: So I will have him to remain till I come, what is it to thee? follow thou me.
23 Daher verbreitete sich unter den Brüdern das Gerücht: Dieser Jünger stirbt nicht. Aber Jesus hat nicht zu ihm gesagt: "Er stirbt nicht", sondern: "Wenn es mein Wille ist, daß er am Leben bleibe, bis ich komme..."
This saying therefore went abroad among the brethren, that that disciple should not die. And Jesus did not say to him: He should not die; but, So I will have him to remain till I come, what is it to thee?
24 Dies ist der Jünger, der das, was hier berichtet wird, bezeugt, und der auch dieses Buch geschrieben hat. Und wir wissen, daß sein Zeugnis wahr ist.
This is that disciple who giveth testimony of these things, and hath written these things; and we know that his testimony is true.
25 Es gibt aber noch vieles andere, was Jesus getan hat. Wollte man das alles einzeln niederschreiben, ich glaube, nicht einmal die ganze Welt hätte für die Bücher Raum, die dann geschrieben werden müßten.
But there are also many other things which Jesus did; which, if they were written every one, the world itself, I think, would not be able to contain the books that should be written.
