Apostelgeschichte 1
1 In meinem ersten Buch, lieber Theophilus, habe ich einen Bericht über Jesu gesamtes Wirken und Lehren gegeben,
The former account, indeed, I made concerning all things, O Theophilus, that Jesus began both to do and to teach,
2 und zwar von seinem ersten Auftreten an bis zu dem Tag seiner Himmelfahrt. Vorher erteilte er seinen Aposteln, die er sich durch den Heiligen Geist auserwählt hatte, bestimmte Aufträge.
until the day in which, having given command through the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom He chose out, He was taken up,
3 Schon gleich nach seinem Leiden stellte er sich ihnen lebendig dar und gab ihnen viele untrügliche Beweise von seiner Auferstehung; denn vierzig Tage hindurch erschien er ihnen und belehrte sie über Gottes Königreich.
to whom He also presented Himself alive after His suffering, in many certain proofs, being seen by them through forty days, and speaking the things concerning the Kingdom of God.
4 Als er nun einst mit ihnen aß, gebot er ihnen, Jerusalem nicht zu verlassen, sondern dort auf die vom Vater verheißene Gabe zu warten. "Darüber", so fuhr er fort, "habt ihr ja schon von mir gehört.
And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, “Which you heard from Me;
5 Denn Johannes hat mit Wasser getauft, ihr aber sollt mit dem Heiligen Geist getauft werden: und bis dahin sind nur noch wenig Tage."
because John, indeed, immersed in water, but you will be immersed in the Holy Spirit not many days after these.”
6 Als sie wieder versammelt waren, fragten sie ihn: "Herr, stellst du jetzt in dieser Zeit das Königreich für Israel von neuem her?"
They, therefore, indeed, having come together, were questioning Him, saying, “Lord, do You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?”
7 Er antwortete ihnen: "Ihr braucht nicht Zeit oder Stunde zu kennen, die der Vater in seiner Machtvollkommenheit bestimmt hat.
And He said to them, “It is not yours to know times or seasons that the Father appointed in His own authority;
8 Aber ihr sollt Kraft empfangen, wenn der Heilige Geist auf euch herabkommt, und dann sollt ihr meine Zeugen sein in Jerusalem und in ganz Judäa und Samaria, ja bis ans Ende der Erde."
but you will receive power at the coming of the Holy Spirit on you, and you will be witnesses for Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
9 Nach diesen Worten ward er vor ihren Augen aufgehoben, und eine Wolke entzog ihn ihren Blicken.
And having said these things—they beholding—He was taken up, and a cloud received Him up from their sight;
10 Wie sie nun bei seinem Weggang unverwandt zum Himmel sahen, standen plötzlich zwei Männer in weißen Gewändern bei ihnen,
and as they were looking steadfastly to the sky in His going on, then, behold, two men stood by them in white clothing,
11 die sprachen: "Ihr Galiläer, was steht ihr da und seht zum Himmel? Dieser selbe Jesus, der jetzt aus eurer Mitte in den Himmel aufgenommen ist, wird ganz in der gleichen Weise wiederkommen, wie ihr ihn habt in den Himmel fahren sehen."
who also said, “Men, Galileans, why do you stand gazing into the sky? This Jesus who was received up from you into Heaven, will so come in what manner you saw Him going on to Heaven.”
12 Danach kehrten sie von dem sogenannten Ölberg nach Jerusalem zurück. Dieser Berg ist nur einen Sabbatweg von der Stadt entfernt.
Then they returned to Jerusalem from [that] called the Mount of Olives, that is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath’s journey;
13 Nach ihrer Ankunft in der Stadt begaben sie sich in den Obersaal, wo sie sich zu versammeln pflegten. Es waren aber da: Petrus und Johannes, Jakobus und Andreas, Philippus und Thomas, Bartholomäus und Matthäus, Jakobus, des Alphäus Sohn, und Simon der Eiferer und Judas, des Jakobus Sohn.
and when they came in, they went up into the upper room, where were abiding both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James, of Alphaeus, and Simon the Zealot, and Judas, of James;
14 Diese alle waren einmütig und beharrlich zum Gebet vereinigt; auch waren noch zugegen einige Frauen, namentlich Maria, die Mutter Jesu, und ferner seine Brüder.
these were all continuing with one accord in prayer and supplication, with women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.
15 An einem dieser Tage erhob sich Petrus inmitten der Brüder — es waren etwa 120 versammelt — und sprach:
And in these days, Peter having risen up in the midst of the disciples, said (also the multitude of the names at the same place was, as it were, one hundred and twenty),
16 "Ihr Männer, liebe Brüder, erfüllen mußte sich die Weissagung in dem Schriftwort, das der Heilige Geist durch Davids Mund geredet hat von Judas, der Jesu Häschern ein Führer gewesen ist;
“Men, brothers, it was necessary [for] this Writing to be fulfilled that the Holy Spirit spoke beforehand through the mouth of David, concerning Judas, who became guide to those who took Jesus,
17 er gehörte ja zu unserer Zahl und hatte dasselbe Amt empfangen wie wir.
because he was numbered among us, and received the share in this ministry.
18 Der hat sich für seinen Verbrecherlohn ein Grundstück erworben; aber er ist kopfüber gefallen und mitten entzweigeborsten, so daß alle seine Eingeweide herausgetreten sind.
(This one, indeed, then, purchased a field out of the reward of unrighteousness, and falling headlong, burst apart in the midst, and all his bowels gushed forth,
19 Dies ist allen Bewohnern Jerusalems so gut bekannt, daß jenes Grundstück in ihrer Sprache den Namen Akeldamach trägt, das heißt, Blutacker.
and it became known to all those dwelling in Jerusalem, insomuch that this place is called, in their proper dialect, Aceldama, that is, Field of Blood.)
20 Im Psalmbuch steht nämlich geschrieben: Sein Gehöft werde wüste, und niemand wohne dort! und: Seinen Dienst übernehme ein anderer!
For it has been written in [the] Scroll of Psalms: Let his lodging-place become desolate, and let no one be dwelling in it, and let another take his oversight.
21 Darum muß nun einer von den Männern, die mit uns zusammengewesen sind während der ganzen Zeit, wo der Herr Jesus bei uns ein- und ausgegangen ist,
It is necessary, therefore, of the men who went with us during all the time in which the Lord Jesus went in and went out among us,
22 und zwar von der Taufe des Johannes an bis zu dem Tag, da er von uns schied und (in den Himmel) aufgenommen wurde, dazu erwählt werden, seine Auferstehung mit uns zu bezeugen."
beginning from the immersion of John, to the day in which He was received up from us, one of these to become with us a witness of His resurrection.”
23 Nun stellten sie zwei auf: Josef, genannt Barsabbas, mit dem Beinamen Justus, und Matthias.
And they set two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias,
24 Dann beteten sie: "Herr, der du aller Herzen kennst, mache du kund, wen du dir von diesen beiden auserkoren hast,
and having prayed, they said, “You, LORD, who are knowing the heart of all, show which one You chose of these two,
25 um die Stelle in diesem Dienst und Apostelamt einzunehmen, die Judas freventlich verlassen hat, damit er an die Stätte gehe, die ihm gebührt."
to receive the share of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas, by transgression, fell, to go on to his proper place”;
26 Darauf warf man das Los über sie. Es fiel auf Matthias, und der wurde nun den elf Aposteln zugezählt.
and they gave their lots, and the lot fell on Matthias, and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
