1 Johannes 1
1 Was von Anfang war, was wir gehört und mit Augen gesehen, was wir geschaut und mit Händen betastet haben, das berichten wir von dem Wort des Lebens.
What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we looked upon, and our hands touched, concerning the Word of life
2 Ja, das Leben ist erschienen, und jenes ewige Leben, das bei dem Vater war und uns offenbar geworden ist, das haben wir gesehen, das bezeugen und verkünden wir euch. (aiōnios g166)
(and the life was made known, and we have seen, and testify, and declare to you the eternal life that was with the Father, and was made known to us), (aiōnios g166)
3 Was wir gesehen und gehört, das verkündigen wir auch euch, damit auch ihr mit uns Gemeinschaft habt. Aber diese Gemeinschaft mit uns ist auch eine Gemeinschaft mit dem Vater und mit seinem Sohn Jesus Christus.
what we have seen and heard we also declare to you, so that ye also may have fellowship with us. Even also our fellowship with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
4 Dies schreiben wir, damit unsere Freude vollkommen sei.
And we write these things to you, so that our joy may be made full.
5 Dies ist die Botschaft, die wir von ihm gehört und euch verkünden: "Gott ist Licht, und in ihm ist keine Finsternis."
And this is the message that we have heard from him and declare to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
6 Behaupten wir, wir haben Gemeinschaft mit ihm, und wandeln trotzdem in der Finsternis, so lügen wir und betätigen die Wahrheit nicht.
If we say that we have fellowship with him and walk in the darkness, we lie, and do not the truth.
7 Wandeln wir aber im Licht, wie er im Licht ist, so haben wir Gemeinschaft miteinander, und das Blut Jesu, seines Sohnes, reinigt uns von jeder Sünde.
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from every sin.
8 Behaupten wir: wir haben keine Sünde, so betrügen wir uns selbst, und die Wahrheit wohnt nicht in uns.
If we say that we have no sin, we lead ourselves astray, and the truth is not in us.
9 Bekennen wir aber unsere Sünden, dann ist er treu und gerecht, so daß er uns die Sünden erläßt und uns reinigt von jeglichem Unrecht.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous so that he will forgive us our sins, and cleanse us from every unrighteousness.
10 Behaupten wir: wir haben nicht gesündigt, so machen wir ihn zum Lügner, und sein Wort wohnt nicht in uns.
If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
