1 Hessafe guye godateth izas diza hara kiitanchay salope duge wodhdhishin beyadis. Iza boncho po7ope dendidayssan biittayka po7ides.
After these things I saw another angel coming down from Heaven, armed with great power. The earth shone with his splendor,
2 Izi qass dhoqa qaalan hizgi woossides “Gita Babilooneya kundadus! Kundadus! Kundadus! daydantha duussa so gidadus! tuna ayanatas aqoso gidadus! haariza iitta kapotas shempo so gidadus.
and with a mighty voice he cried out, saying, "Great Babylon has fallen, has fallen, and has become a home for demons and a stronghold for every kind of foul spirit and for every kind of foul and hateful bird.
3 Dere asa ubbaa mathoziza ba laymmatetha woyne cajeza ushshadus. Biitta bolla diza kawoti izira Laymmatida. Biitta bolla diza zal7anchati izis diza ishalo duussafe dendidayssan daro duretida”
For all the nations have drunk the wine of the anger provoked by her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have grown rich through her excessive luxury."
4 Qasseka hara qaalay salope hizigi shin siyadis “Ta dereto inte izira izi nagaran zupettontta malane izo gakkiza bochan inte izira gishshietti ekkontta mala izipe shaaketi kezite.
Then I heard another voice from Heaven, which said, "Come out of her, My people, that you may not become partakers in her sins, nor receive a share of her plagues.
5 Izi nagaray doorettidi pude salo gakkides. Xoossika izi mooroza akekides.
For her sins are piled up to the sky, and God has called to mind her unrighteous deeds.
6 Iza immidari gina izis kushe zaarite; iza ootho gishshishi izis nam7u kushe ciggite; izis nam7u kushe iziyssafe aathi walakite;
Give back to her as she has given; repay her in accordance with her doings, twice as much; in the bowl that she has mixed, mix twice as much for her.
7 Iza bees, ba bonchosine bees giigana mala immoyssa gina waayene muzoteth izis immite; iza ba wozinara (Tani kawo machi mala uttadis attin ami7i mala gidike. Tana muuzoteth muleka gakena” ga ceeqistataysu.
She has freely glorified herself and revelled in luxury; equally freely administer torment to her, and woe. For in her heart she boasts, saying, 'I sit enthroned as Queen: no widow am I: I shall never know sorrow.'
8 Hessa gishshi izi bolla bochay wurka issi gallas gakana. Hayqoy, muuzotethine gafay izo gakana; Iza taman xuugistana; Izi bolla pirdiza Goday Xoossi izi minokko.
"For this reason calamities shall come thick upon her on a single day--death and sorrow and famine--and she shall be burned to the ground. For strong is the Lord God who has judged her.
9 Izira laymmatishe ishalo duusu deyida ha biitta kawoti iza xuugetishin cuwatiza cuwa beyid izi gishshi waassid yeekana.
The kings of the earth who have committed fornication with her, and have revelled in luxury, shall weep aloud and lament over her when they see the smoke of her burning,
10 Izi waayezas babida gishshi hahon eqqidi “Hane gita katamaye! hane mino katamaye Babiloone! ne pirday mexi issi saate giddon yida gishshi nees wa! Wa!” gaana.
while they stand afar off because of their terror at her heavy punishment, and say, 'Alas, alas, thou great city, O Babylon, the mighty city! For in one short hour thy doom has come!'
11 Hayssafe guye istta markaben caanetidaz shammiza uray bayinda gishshi biitta bolla dizazal7anchati izis yeekanane kayotana.
And the merchants of the earth weep aloud and lament over her, because now there is no sale for their cargoes--
12 Istta markaben caanettiday worqa, bira, al7o shuchu inqqu, lee7e mayo, galal7o mala mayo, haare geetettiza mayo, zo7o mayone lo7o sawo sawiza wurso miith, dangarsa zaale, al7o miithafe, xarqimalape biratapene wiliwojofe oothetida miishi wurka
cargoes of gold and silver, of jewels and pearls, of fine linen, purple and silk, and of scarlet stuff; all kinds of rare woods, and all kinds of goods in ivory and in very costly wood, in bronze, steel and marble.
13 Qerefa, sawo, sawiza miith, karbe, exane, woyne caje, woyra zayte, dhiile, gistte, miizi, dorsata, parata, para gaareta, aylistane hara asatakko.
Also cinnamon and amomum; odors to burn as incense or for perfume; frankincense, wine, oil; fine flour, wheat, cattle and sheep; horses and carriages and slaves; and the lives of men.
14 Zal7anchati “Hane neni amottida lo7o miishati wurka neepe haaki bi gidida. Ne haaroyka ne geexeyka wurka dhayides. Hayssape guye neni heytantta muleka zaara demmaka” gaana
The dainties that thy soul longed for are gone from thee, and all thine elegance and splendor have perished, and never again shall they be found.
15 Heytantta wurs shami shamidi duretida. Zal7anchati izi bolla gakkida waayezas babidi hahon eqqana, yeekishene muuzetishe
Those who traded in these things, who grew wealthy through her, will stand afar off, struck with terror at her punishment,
16 Kase lee7e mayone galal7o mayo qasseka zo7o mayo mayzaris, worqanine boncho shuchan, inqunka phollida gita katamayss wo! wo!
weeping aloud and sorrowing, and saying, 'Alas, alas, for this great city, which was brilliantly arrayed in fine linen, and purple and scarlet stuff, and beautified with gold, jewels and pearls;
17 Hessa mala haaroy issi saate garisan dhayides” gaana. Markabe azazizayti wuri markaben bizayti wuri markaben giddon oothizayti wurikka abba giddon zal7anchati wurka haahon eqqana.
because in one short hour all this great wealth has been laid waste!' And every shipmaster and every passenger by sea and the crews and all who ply their trade on the sea,
18 Iza xuugetishin cuwaza cuwa beyid “Hanno ha gita katamayo milatiza katamay haray awan dandee? gishe waassida.
stood afar off, and cried aloud when they saw the smoke of her burning. And they said, 'What city is like this great city?'
19 Be hu7en gudula qolidi yekkishene muuzotishe hizgi waassida “Abba bolla markabey dizayti wurka izi miishen duretidayti, hinna gita katamaya issi saate garsan mulera dhayida gishshi izis wo! wo!
And they threw dust upon their heads, and cried out, weeping aloud and sorrowing. 'Alas, alas,' they said, 'for this great city, in which, through her vast wealth, the owners of all the ships on the sea have grown rich; because in one short hour she has been laid waste!'
20 Salozo izi geedon ne ufa7ista; Xoossi inte gishshi izi bolla pirdida gishshi inte geeshati, hawaretine nabetika ufa7ettite.
Rejoice over her, O Heaven, and you saints and Apostles and Prophets; for God has taken vengeance upon her because of you."
21 Hessafe guye issi mino kiitanchay wolqama woxa shuchu milatiza issi shuchu denthidi hizgishe duge abba giddo yeggides “Gita katamaya Baabilona hessathoka wolqara sugettada kundana. Hayssafe guye muleka beettuku.
Then a single angel of great strength took a stone which resembled a huge millstone, and hurled it into the sea, saying, "So shall Babylon, that great city, be violently hurled down and never again be found.
22 Diith miza bagana geetettizayssa shoccizaytine yethi yexxizayta yetha susul7o susul7iza asayne dinke punnizayta giirethi nam7antho nenan siyettena. Ay aynateka kushe hiilateth oothiza era asi hayssafe guye nenan bettena. Woxa giirethi hayssafe guye nenan siyettena.
No harp or song, no flute or trumpet, shall ever again be heard in thee; no craftsman of any kind shall ever again be found in thee; nor shall the grinding of the mill ever again be heard in thee.
23 Tama po7oy hayssafe guye nenan po7ana. Addane macca mishira qaalay hayssape guye nenan siyettana. Ne zal7anchati kase alamen erettidaytakko. Neni qass asa ubbaa muurunon balethadasa.
Never again shall the light of a lamp shine in thee, and never again shall the voice of a bridegroom or of a bride be heard in thee. For thy merchants were the great men of the earth, and with the magic which thou didst practise all nations were led astray.
24 “Izi giddon nabeta suuthi, geeshata suuthine biitta bolla asa kushen hayqidayta wursota suuthi beettides”
And in her was found the blood of Prophets and of God's people and of all who had been put to death on the earth."
