Maatosa 5
1 Daro derey shiiqidaysa beyida wode Yesusay pude zuma bolla kezidi utides, iza kaalizaytika izakko yida.
And seeing the multitudes, he went up into the mountain: and when he had sat down, his disciples came unto him:
2 Izikka ista hizigidi tamarso oykides.
and he opened his mouth and taught them, saying,
3 ayanan bena kawushizayti anjetidayta ays gikko salo kawothi istasa.
Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 qadhetizayti anjetidayta ays gikko isti ministana.
Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
5 ashketi anjetidayta ays gikko isti biitta latana.
Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
6 xiloteth gafetizaytine saamotizayti anjetidayta ays gikko isti kalana.
Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
7 asas lo7o othizayti anjetidayta ays gikko istikka lo7oy othistana??
Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
8 wozana xilloti anjtidayta ays gikko isti Xoos beyana.
Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
9 saroteth oothizayti anjetidayta ays gikko isti xoosa nayta geeteti xeygistana.
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called sons of God.
10 xillotetha gish goodetizayti anjetidayta ays gikko salo kawotethi istasa.
Blessed are they that have been persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 Ta gedon asay intena cayikko, goodikonne iita yo wordora inte bolla haasa7ikko inte anjetidayta.
Blessed are ye when [men] shall reproach you, and persecute you, and say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
12 Inte salon demana waagay keehi gita gidida gish ufaysan guppitte. Ays gikko intefe kase nabetakka hessaththo gooddida.
Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
13 inte ha biita asas maxine mala. Maxiney ba mal7otetha yediza gidiko zaridi demanas danda7ize? gede kare yegetidi yedheteespe atin.
Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost its savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out and trodden under foot of men.
14 Inte deres po7o. Zuma bola diza katamaya qotistanas danda7uku.
Ye are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hid.
15 Asi xoomppe oythidi kethan diza asa wursos po7ana mala dhoqason wothetes atin gema son wothi eretena.
Neither do [men] light a lamp, and put it under the bushel, but on the stand; and it shineth unto all that are in the house.
16 Hesathokka asay inte lo7o otho beydi inte salon diza inte aawa bonchana mala inte po7oy asa sinthan po7o.
Even so let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
17 Tani Musse wogane nabeta qaala sharana yida intes milatopo; polanas yadis atin sharanas yabeykke.
Think not that I came to destroy the law or the prophets: I came not to destroy, but to fulfill.
18 Ta intess tumu gays, saloyne bitay adhana gakanas Musse wogay wuri polistana atin wogappe isi pidaleykka woykko issi qerinakka shaaretuku.
For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass away from the law, till all things be accomplished.
19 Hessa gish onikka ha azazoyntafe guxizaro gidikokka othonta yegi adhikko, hankoytakka yedhi adhana mala tamarsikko salo kawotethan he uray guth geteti xeygistana. Gido atin hayta azazota othi polishe hankoyta polana mala tamarsikko izi salo kawotethan gta getistana.
Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
20 Ta intes gays, inte xillotethi Parsawistapene Musse woga tamarsizayta xillotethafe aadhonta agikko salo kawoteth gelana danda7ekista.
For I say unto you, that except your righteousness shall exceed [the righteousness] of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no wise enter into the kingdom of heaven.
21 Kasse asatas wodhopa, wodhida ura bolla pirdistana getetidaysa inte siydista.
Ye have heard that it was said to them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
22 Ta qasse intes gizay ba isha bolla wogay baynda hanqetiza ura bolla pirdistana, onikka ba isha napay gizadey dere dulata sinthan oychistana, eya giza ura ganame tama pirday naages. (Geenna g1067)
but I say unto you, that every one who is angry with his brother shall be in danger of the judgment; and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council; and whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of the hell of fire. (Geenna g1067)
23 Hessa gish neni yarsho shishizason Xoossas yarshana gishin ne ishay ne bolla michetidazi nes qofetikko,
If therefore thou art offering thy gift at the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath aught against thee,
24 ne yarshizaysa hen yarshoson aga gada koyro bada ne ishara giga, hessafe guye simada ne yarshoza Xoossas shisha.
leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way, first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
25 nena kasasida ne morkey ne bolla pirdsonta mala pirdiza danay qachizaysas nena athi imonta mala qasho kethan ne wodhontamala buro ogge bolla dashe ne morkke urara elela giga gida.
Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art with him in the way; lest haply the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.
26 Ta nes tumu gays izi pirdisi wursida gidikko wusetha isi santimiyo qanxana gakans qashoppe birshistakka.
Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou have paid the last farthing.
27 laymatoppa gizaysa inte siydista
Ye have heard that it was said, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
28 Tani gidikko intena hiz gays macasha amo ayferra xelida uray wuri ba wozinan izira laymatadess.
but I say unto you, that every one that looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
29 Nagara othans ne oshacha ayfey nes gaso gidiko neppe kessa wora yega, ne asatethay kumeth gede ganame taman yegistanape ne asatethafe isay pacikko lo7o. (Geenna g1067)
And if thy right eye causeth thee to stumble, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not thy whole body be cast into hell. (Geenna g1067)
30 Ne oshacha kushey nagara othos gaso gidiko neppe qanxa diga ne asatethay kumeth ganamen yegistanaysafe ne asatethafe issi bilitey ness pace gidiko lo7o. (Geenna g1067)

31 machcho anjizadey anjida firma waraqata izis imana beses getetidees.
It was said also, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:
32 Tani qasse intena hizgays hara urara laymatishin beyonta dishe ba maco anjizadey wuri iza laymatana mala othes. Hesathokka anjetizaro ekizadeykka laymatida mala qodetes.
but I say unto you, that every one that putteth away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, maketh her an adulteress: and whosoever shall marry her when she is put away committeth adultery.
33 kasse asatas wordo caqofa; Xoossa sinthan ne caqidaysa naga getetidaysa inte siyidista.
Again, ye have heard that it was said to them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:
34 Ta qass intena aykkokka caqofite gays saloy Xoossa wonbara gidida gish salon caqofite.
but I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by the heaven, for it is the throne of God;
35 Bitay Xoossa soy shempizaso gidida gish bitankka caqopite woga kawo katama gidida gish Yerusalamenkka caqopite.
nor by the earth, for it is the footstool of his feet; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.
36 Inte hu7enikka caqopite inte hu7e iskistappe issineyokka bothu woykko kareth histanas danda7ekista.
Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, for thou canst not make one hair white or black.
37 hessa gish inte inte garsan hasa7etishin inte hasa7ay E ganaz E gite akkay ganas akkay gite, hessappe kare gididay wuri ita urappe yizaza.
But let your speech be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: and whatsoever is more than these is of the evil [one].
38 Ayfe gishas ayfe acha gishas acha getetidaysa inte siyidista
Ye have heard that it was said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:
39 Ta kass intes gizay ita othida urara eqetofite gido attin nes oshacha shagala baqizades hankoysakka yusha bessa.
but I say unto you, Resist not him that is evil: but whosoever smiteth thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
40 Issi uray ne garsara maydaysa neppe ekkanas nena motikko bolara maydaysakka gujada izas imma
And if any man would go to law with thee, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also.
41 Issi ass nena issi sate ooge ne bana mala wolqathikko issippe nam7u dakko gidana ogge iza bays.
And whosoever shall compel thee to go one mile, go with him twain.
42 Nena wosizades imma, neppe tal7e ekkanas koyzades zokko zaroppa.
Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.
43 Ne lagge siqa, ne morke siqa getetidaysa siyidista
Ye have heard that it was said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy:
44 Ta qass intena inte morketa dosite, intena godizaytas wosite gays.
but I say unto you, Love your enemies, and pray for them that persecute you;
45 Inte hessaththo othikko inte salo awas nayta gidana. Izi awa arshe itatasine lo7otas issi bola omo imess irakka xilotasine nagaranchatas issi bola bukises.
that ye may be sons of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sendeth rain on the just and the unjust.
46 Intena dosizayta xalala inte dosikko intes aza wagay dize? Qaraxa ekizayti hessaththo othetene?
For if ye love them that love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
47 Inte ishata xala inte sarothikko hankoytappe azan lo7eti? amnontaytikka hessaththo othetes.
And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more [than others]? do not even the Gentiles the same?
48 hessa gish inte salo away wothoy bayndade gidida mala intekka wothoy bayndade gidite.
Ye therefore shall be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
