1 Hessappe guye Xillo Ayanay Xala7en pacistana mala Yesusa duge bazo bita efidess.
Then, Jesus was led up into the wilderness, by the Spirit, to be tempted by the adversary;
2 Oydu tammu galasine oydu tammu qama xoomidappe guye Yesuusay gafidess.
and, fasting forty days and forty nights, —afterwards, he hungered.
3 Pacizaysi Yesusakko shiqidi “ne Xoossa na gidikko ane hayta shuchata uketh gidana mala azaza” gidess.
And, coming near, the tempter said to him, —If thou art God’s, Son, speak! that, these stones, may become, loaves.
4 Yesusaykka “‘assi Xoossa dunappe keziza qalanppe atin kaththan xala deenna’ getti xafetidess” gidi izas zaridess.
But, he, answering, said, It is written, —Not on bread alone, shall man live, but on every declaration coming forth through the mouth of God.
5 Kalethidikka Xala7ey yesusa gesha katamayo efidi meqidese ketha quste bola kesidi
Then, the adversary taketh him with him, unto the holy city, —and he set him upon the pinnacle of the temple;
6 “Ne Xoossa na gidikko ane hayssappe duge guppa, ays gikko ‘ne toy suchan dhuphetonta mala kitanchati ba kushra nena denthana mala ne gish Xoossi ba kitancha kiitana’ geteti xafetidess” gidess.
and saith to him—If thou art God’s, Son, cast thyself down, —for it is written, To his messengers, will he give charge concerning thee; and, on hands, will they bear thee up, lest once thou strike, against a stone, thy foot.
7 Yesusaykka “qasse maxafatan ‘ne Xoossa Godda paaccoppa’ geteti xafetidess” gidi zaridess.
Jesus said to him, Again, it is written, —Thou shalt not put to the test, the Lord thy God.
8 Qasekka Xala7ey Yesusa kehi dhoqqa zuma bola kesidi salo gufanthon diza kawotetha iza bonchora wursi ehi besidi
Again, the adversary taketh him with him, into an exceeding high mountain, —and pointeth out to him all the kingdoms of the world, and their glory;
9 “ne kundada tas goynikko hayssa ubbaa ta neess iimana” gides.
and said to him, All these things, will I give thee, —if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
10 Yesuusay hayso “Xala7e ta sintahppe hakka neni ne Godas Xossas goyna, izas Xalala goyna getetidi xafetidess” gidess.
Then saith Jesus unto him, Withdraw, Satan! for it is written, —The Lord thy God, shalt thou worship, and, to him alone, render divine service.
11 Hesappe Xala7ey iza agidi bidess, kiitanchatikka yiidi iza madida.
Then, the adversary leaveth him, —and lo! messengers came near, and began ministering unto him.
12 Yesusay Yansay qachetidaysa siyidi gede Galila simmidess.
And, hearing that, John, had been delivered up, he retired into Galilee;
13 Nazirete katama agidi Zabilone Niftaleme heran aba matan diza Qifirnahome kataman duus oykidess.
and, forsaking Nazareth, he came and fixed his dwelling in Capernaum, which was by the lake, —within the bounds of Zebulun and Naphtali:
14 Hesan Zabilonenine Niftaleme bitan, Yordanoseppe he pinthan aabba gaxxara ehaaththaiza ogge matan diza ayhuda gidonta Galila dere asay, dhuuman diza derey wolqama po7o be7idess, Hyqo kuwa garsan diza deress po7oy po7idess' getetidi nabe Isayasa dunan kasetidi hasa7etidaysi poletidess.
that it might be fulfilled, which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying:
Land of Zebulun, and land of Naphtali, the lake-way across the Jordan, —Galilee of the nations,
The people that was sitting in darkness, a great light, beheld, —and, on them who were sitting in land and shade of death, Light rose on them.
17 Yesuusay he wodeppe domidi “Salo kawotethi matidess marota gelitte” gidi sabakko oykidess.
From that time, began Jesus to be making proclamation, and saying, —Repent ye, for the kingdom of the heavens hath drawn near.
18 Yesuusay Galila aabba achara adhishe nam7u ishantata, heytikka Phixxirosa getetiza Simonane iza isha Indirasa be7idess. Istika mole oykizayta gidida gish mole oykiza gite aban yegishe detess.
And, walking round beside the sea of Galilee, he saw two brethren—Simon who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother, —casting a large fishing-net into the sea, for they were fishers;
19 Yesusay ista “ha yite tana kalite, ta intena asa oykiza as othana” gidess.
and he saith unto them, Come after me, —and I will make you fishers, of men.
20 Isti herakka mole oykiza giteza yegidi yesusa kalida.
And, they, straightway, leaving the nets, followed him.
21 Guth sinthe bishe hara nam7u ishantata Zabdosa na nam7ata Yaqobene Yanisa be7idess. Istika ba awa Zabdosara wogolo gidon mole gite lo7othetes, Yesusaykka ista xeygin
And, going forward from thence, he saw other two brethren—James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother—in the boat with Zebedee their father, putting in order their nets, —and he called them.
22 isti herakka wogolozane ba awa agidi kalida.
And, they, straightway, leaving the boat and their father, followed him.
23 Yesusay ista mukuraben asa tamarsishene kawotetha mishiracho qaala sabakishe qasse dere garsan ay hargey sakizaytakka pathishe kumetha Galila yuydess.
And Jesus was going round throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and proclaiming the glad-message of the kingdom, —and curing every disease, and every infirmity, among the people.
24 Hesa gedon lo7o nashoy kumetha Soore biittan siyetidess. Dereykka dumma dumma sakon daro wayzaytane daydanthi istan gelidaytane, bolappe biittan yegiza hargey dizayta, silidayta izakko ehin wursikka pathidees.
And forth went the report of him into all Syria; and they brought unto him all who were sick, with divers diseases and tortures, distressed, demonized and lunatic and paralyzed, —and he cured them.
25 Hesafe dendidaysan Galilappe, tamu katamappe, Yerusalameppene, Yihudappe, Yordanose shaafa pinthappe yida daro asay iza kalidess.
And there followed him large multitudes—from Galilee, and Decapolis, and Jerusalem, and Judaea, and across the Jordan.
