1 Qassekka Yesusay derezasine bena kalizatas hiz gidees;
Then Jesus addressed the people and his disciples,
2 Musse woga tamarsizaytinne Parsaweti Musse wonbara bolla utida
saying, The Scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' chair;
3 Hessa gish isti intess yotizaysa wursi othitene nagite gido attin isti dunan hasa7izaysa mala othon besonta gish inte ista otho kalofite.
therefore observe and do whatsoever they enjoin you; nevertheless, follow not their example; for they say and do not.
4 Hessathokka assi tookanas danda7onta dexo toho qachidi asa hashe bolla wothetes shin bess gidkko biradhe xerankka bochetena.
Heavy and intolerable burdens they prepare for other men's shoulders, burdens to which they themselves will not put a finger.
5 Ista otho wursi assi beyana mala othetes, ba ashenkintabe (maxafa garsappe xafi ekida issi issi xiqisista kitabe sikidi liphe bolla woykko kushen qachizaz) oothetees. Be mayo macara adusetees.
But whatever they do they do to be observed by men. For this they wear broader phylacteries than others, and larger tufts on their mantles;
6 Gibizay dizason boncho so mukurabenkka sinthara utana dosetes.
and love the uppermost places at entertainments, and the principal seats in the synagogues,
7 Hesathokka giya gidon saro getistanasine asay issta astamarento gana mala koyetees.
and salutations in public places; and to hear men addressing them, cry, Rabbi, Rabbi.
8 Inte gidikko astamare geteti xegetoppitte, inte astamarey issa xala gidishin inte wurikka issay issas ishnta.
But as for you, assume not the title of Rabbi; for you have only one teacher;
9 Salon intess aaaway xala diza gish bitta bolla onakka awa gidi xegoppitte.
and style no man on earth your father, for he alone is your Father, who is in heaven; and all you are brothers.
10 Inte astemarey issi kirstosa xala gidida gish inte “astemarento” getopitte.
Neither assume the title of leaders, for you have only one leader--who is the Messiah.
11 Inte garsan wursoppe adhizadey intess othizade gidana.
The greatest of you, on the contrary, shall be your servant;
12 Bena dhoqisizadey kawuyana, bena kawushizadey bonchetana.
for whosoever will exalt himself, shall be humbled; and whosoever will humble himself, shall be exalted.
13 Inteno qodheppe qomoto Musse woga tamarsizayte, inteno Parsaweto asay Xoossa kawoteth gelonta mala asa bolla inte penge gordiza gish intena aye? Inte intes gelekistane gelanas koyzaytakka gelthekista.
But alas for you, Scribes and Pharisees! hypocrites! because you shut the kingdom of heaven against men; and will neither enter yourselves, nor permit others that would, to enter.
14 Inteno qodheppe qomoto Musse woga tamarsizayto qassekka Parsaweto intena aye! azinay baynda macashata ketha kalosishe asa ayfe sinthan adusa wossa inte wosiza gish inte iita pirda pirdistana.
Alas for you, Scribes and Pharisees! hypocrite! because you devour the families of widows; and use long prayers for a disguise. This will but aggravate your punishment.
15 Inteno qodheppe qomoto (dunan cimzayto) Musse woga tamarsizayto qasseka Parsaweto issi ura ayhude amanon gelthanas abba bollarane bitta bollara yuyi daburdine amanthida asa intefe nam7u kushe athidi ganame na inte kesiza gish intena aye. (Geenna g1067)
Alas for you, Scribes and Pharisees! hypocrites! because you traverse sea and land to make one proselyte; and when he is gained, you make him a son of hell doubly more than yourselves. (Geenna g1067)
16 Inteno intees qoqi utidi harata kalethizayto intena aye! Onikka maqidassen caqiko aykoy ba gido attin maqidasse gido diza worqan caqiko caqo gomey gakana gista.
Alas for you, blind guides, who say, To swear by the temple binds not, but swear by the gold of the temple is binding.
17 Inteno qoqidayto baletidayto worqafene worqa dumathida awaysi adhize?
Foolish and blind! which is more sacred, the gold, or the temple that consecrates the gold?
18 Hesathokka onikka yarsho yarshizaso bolla caqiko aykoy ba shin yarshizaso diza yarsho bolla caqikko caqoy gomes gista.
and, to swear by the altar, binds not, but to swear by the offering that is upon it is binding.
19 Inteno qoqeto yarshoppene yarsho shishizasoppe awaysse adhizay?
Foolish and blind! which is more sacred, the offering, or the altar that consecrates the offering?
20 Hessa gish yarsho shishizaso bolla caqizadey yarsho soza bollane yarshizaso bolla diza miish wurson caqess.
Whoever, therefore, swears by the altar, swears by it, and by everything on it.
21 Hessathokka maqidasseza bolla caqiday maqidasanine iza gidon aqizaysan
And whoever swears by the temple, swears by it, and by Him who dwells in it;
22 Salon caqizadeykka Xoossa alganine algga bolla utidaysan caqees.
and whoever swears by heaven, swears by the throne of God, and by Him who sits on it.
23 Inteno qodheppe qomoto Musse woga tamarsizayto Parsaweto intena aye! Assotappene anugappe katkal7appe tamappe issino immista shin wogatappe wanatizayta heytikka tuma firda, marotethine ammaneteth gidikko kadhidista. Heyta agonta dishe haytanta inte othanas intes besess shin agidista.
Alas for you, Scribes and Pharisees! hypocrites! because you pay the tithe of mint, dill, and cummin, and omit the more important articles of the law, justice, humanity, and fidelity. These you ought to have practiced without omitting those.
24 Inteno qoqe kalethoto u7e gaccidi uyista shin gamela mume mitista.
Blind guides! you are skimming off the gnat, and swallowing the camel.
25 Inteno qodheppe qomon hanizayto Musse woga tamarsizaytone Parsaweto intena aye! Xu7asine keres bolla baga qucista shin iza gidon dizaysa inte bonqanine uzetethan shisidista.
Alas for you, Scribes and Pharisees! hypocrites! because you cleanse the outside of those cups and platters, which within are laid with rapine and iniquity.
26 Neno qoqe Parsawezo koyrotada xu7asine keres garsa baga gesha, hessappe guye kare bagay kesh gidana.
Blind Pharisee! begin with cleansing the inside of the cup, and of the platter, if you would make even the outside clean.
27 Inteno qodheppe qomoto Musse woga tamarsizayto qasse Parsaweto bolla baga norara meshetidi lo7izayti gidoy gidikko hayqidayta meqethine daro tunanetethan kumida dufota milatiza gish intena aye!
Alas for you, Scribes and Pharisees! hypocrites! because you resemble whitened sepulchers, which without indeed, are beautiful, but within are full of corruption, and of dead men's bones.
28 Intekka bolla bagara asaas xilo asata milatista, inte gidoy gidikko dumma cimonine itatethan kumidess.
Thus you outwardly appear righteous to men; but are inwardly fraught with subtlety and injustice.
29 Inteno dunan cimizayto Musse woga astemareto qsekka Parsaweto inetena aye! Nabista dufo lo7othizayto xillo asata dufo hawultera gigisizato,
Alas for you, Scribes and Pharisees! hypocrites! because you build the sepulchers of the prophets, and adorn the monuments of the righteous,
30 Nu awati nagista wodhiza wode nu dizakko istara zuppetokoko shin,
and say, Had we lived in the days of our fathers, we would not have been their accomplices in the slaughter of the prophets.

Thus you testify against yourself, that you are the sons of those who murdered the prophets.

Fill you up, then, the measure of your fathers.

34 Hessa gish nabetane eranchata astamaristakka ta intess yedana, inte ista garsappe issi issi asata wodhana, bagayta inte kaqana, bagyta inte mukuraben garafanane ha katamappe hara inte godana.
Therefore, I send you prophets, and wise men, and scribes. Some of them you will kill and crucify; others you will scourge in your synagogues, and banish from city to city;

so that all the innocent blood shed upon the earth shall be charged upon you, from the blood of righteous Abel, to the blood of Zachariah, son of Barachiah, whom you slew between the altar and the sanctuary.

Indeed, I say to you, all shall be charged upon this generation.
37 Hane Yursalame nabeta wodhizare neekko kitetidayta shuchara cadizare cadizare hanne Yurusalemekuto aya ba ciyista ba qefe gido shishiza mala ta ne nayta shishanas apun wode koyadina shin inte gidikko koybeykista.
O Jerusalem, Jerusalem! who killest the prophets, and stonest them whom God sends to you, how often would I have gathered your children together, as a hen gathers her chickens under her wings, but you would not!
38 Hekko inte kethi kays gidi atana.
Soon shall your habitation be turned into a desert;
39 Ta intess tumu gays inte Goda sunthan yizadey anjetidade gana wodey gakanas nmm7antho tana beyekista.
for know, that you shall not henceforth see me, until you say, Blessed be He, who comes in the name of the Lord.
