< Maatosa 18 >
1 He wode Yesusa kalizayti izakko shiqidi salo kawotethan nu garasan wusofe adhanadey oone gi oychida.
At that time the disciples came to Jesus inquiring, Who shall be the greatest in the Reign of Heaven?
2 Yesusay issi na xeygi ehidi ista gidon essidi “ta intess tummu gays inte simonta ixxikkone gutha nayta mala hannonta ixikko mulekka salo kawoteth gelekista gidees.
Jesus calling to him a child, placed him in the midst of them,
and said, Indeed, I say to you, unless you be changed, and become as children, you shall never enter the kingdom of heaven.
4 Hesa gish ha naza mala bena ziqisizadey salo kawotethan wursofe adhana.
Whosoever, therefore, shall become humble like this child.
5 Haysamala gutha na ta sunthan ekizadey tana ekess.
Nay, whosoever receives one such child, in my name, receives me:
6 Giddo atin tana amaniza guthatappe isade dhupiza uray dexo woxa shuchu ba qodhen qachetidi aba cimana yegetidi mitetikko izas lo7o gidana.
but whosoever shall ensnare any of these little ones, who believe in me, it were better for him that an upper millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were sunk in the ocean.
7 Hana alameya asse dhuphana gasso gidida gish izis ay! dhuphey yuss agena shin dhuphezas gasso gidizades aye!
Alas for the world because of snares! Snares indeed there must be; nevertheless, alas for the ensnarer!
8 Ne kushey woykko ne toy nena dhuphanas gaso gidikko neppe qanxa diga ne nam7u keshena woykko nam7u tohora gede medhina taman yegistanappe wobe woykko to sila gidada he gede deyoy dizaso geloy ness lo7ana. (aiōnios )
Wherefore, if your hand or foot ensnare you, cut it off and throw it away; it is better for you to enter lame or maimed into life, than having two hands or feet to be cast into the everlasting fire. (aiōnios )
9 Hessathokka ne ayfey nes dhuphe gidikko neppe kessa yega, nam7u ayfera gede ganame taman ne yegistanaysappe issi ayfera deyo dizaso ne gelizaysi ness lo7o. (Geenna )
And if your eye ensnare you, pluck it out and throw it away; it is better for you to enter one-eyed into life, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire. (Geenna )
10 Hayta gutha gidoppe issiniyokka inte kadhonta mala nagetite! ta intess tumu gays salon diza ista kitanchati salon ta awa ayfeso wurso galas xeletes.
Beware of contemning any of these little ones; for I assure you, that in heaven, their angels continually behold the face of my heavenly Father:
11 Asa nay dhaydayta ashans yidees.
and the Son of Man is come to recover the lost.
12 Ane tass yotitte isi uras xetu dorssi dikko qass istafe issina dhaykko hankko udufun tamane udufuna zumma bolla yegidi dhaydaro koyana bi erene?
What think you? If a man have a hundred sheep, and one of them has strayed, will he not leave the ninety-nine upon the mountains, and go in quest of the stray?
13 Ta intess tumu gays hanqon dhayonta udufun tamane udufun dorsistappe athidi betida dorsayn ufa7etess.
And if he happens to find it, indeed, I say to you, he derives greater joy from it, than from the ninety-nine which went not astray.
14 Hessathokka ha guthata garsafe issay dhayana mala salon diza inte awa shene gidana.
Thus it is not the will of your Father in heaven, that any of these little ones should be lost.
15 Ne isay nena qohikko izakko bada iza xala nenara ekada iza moro izas yota izi ne giza siyikko ne isha ne ass othasa.
Wherefore, if your brother trespass against you, go and expostulate with him, when you and he are alone together. If he hear you, you have gained your brother;
16 izi ne giza siyonta ixikko yoyi wuri nam7u markan woykko hezu markan shatimetiza gish isade woykko nam7u ass nenara ekka bada iza hasa7isa.
but if he will not hear, take one or two along with you, that by the testimony of two or three witnesses everything may be ascertained.
17 Izi istakka siyonta ixikko wosa kethas yota, wosa kistahkka siyonta ixxikko izade ne amamontademe qaraxa shishizade mala qoda.
If he despises them, tell the congregation; and if he despise the congregation also, let him be to you as a pagan or a publican.
18 Ta intess tumu gays inte bita bolla qachiday wurikka salonkka qachetida gidana inte bitta bolla birshiday salonkka birshetida gidana.
Indeed, I say to you, whatsoever you shall bind on the earth, shall be bound in heaven; and whatsoever you shall loose on earth, shall be loosed in heaven.
19 Qassekka ta intess tumu gays inte bita bolla nam7u gididi ay gishikka ero ero gidi inte oychikko salon diza ta away intess immana.
Again, I say to you, whatever two of you upon the earth shall agree to ask, shall be granted them by my Father, who is in heaven.
20 Nam7u woykko hezu gidid ta sunthan inte shizason hen inte gidon ta dana.
For wherever two or three are assembled in my name, I am in the midst of them.
21 Hessa wode Phixirosay Yesusakko shiqidi “Godo ta ishay tana qohikko ta izas appun to ato go? lapun to ato go? gidess.
Then Peter approaching, said to him, Master, if my brother repeatedly trespass against me, how often must I forgive him? must I seven times?
22 Yesusaykka izas zaridi lappun tamu to lapun atin lapun to xala ga gike gidees.
Jesus answered, I say to you, not seven times, but seventy times seven times.
23 Hessa gish salo kawotethi ashikara bolla diza mishe shishana koyda kawo milataysu.
In this the Administration of Heaven resembles a king, who determined to settle accounts with his servants.
24 Misha qoda oykidamala iza ashikaratappe daro milione bira achoy iza bolla dizade ekki yida.
Having begun to reckon, one was brought, who owed him ten thousand talents.
25 Ashikaraykka iza bolla diza acoza qanxoy xonxa gish izikka iza machiyakka iza naytinne izas dizaz wuri bayzetidi mishay qanxistana mala iza goday azazidees.
But that servant not having the means to pay; his master, to obtain payment, commanded that he, and his wife and children, and all that he had should be sold.
26 He wode ashikarazi godaza to bolla kundidi tani ta bolla diza acoza ubbaa ness qanxana gakanas tass gutha wode imarkki gidi wosidees.
Then the servant, throwing himself prostrate before his master, cried, Have patience with me, my lord, and I will pay the whole.
27 Iza godaykka izas michetidi iza galeza wirsi maridi yedidees.
And his master had compassion upon him, and dismissed him, remitting the debt.
28 He ashikarykka ba goda achappe kezidamala gutha bira (acoy) iza bolla diza ba lage demidine ne bolla diza ta mishayo ha7i hanini qanxa gidi culi oykidees.
But this servant, as he went out, meeting one of his fellow-servants, who owed him a hundred denarii, seized him by the throat, saying, Pay me what you owe.
29 He iza lagge ashikary tass gutha wode imarki ta ness qanxana gidi iza to bolla kundidi wosidees.
His fellow-servant, falling down, besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay you.
30 Gido atin izas gutha wode imanas koyonta ixidi iza laggezi ba bolla diza aco qanxana gakanas woynen yegidees.
And he would not, but instantly caused him to be imprisoned, until he should discharge the debt.
31 Hessa izi othishin be7ida asayne hanko iza lagge ashikarati daro cichetida. Bidikka hanidaysa wursi ba godas yotida.
His fellow-servants seeing this, were deeply affected, and went, and informed their master of all that had passed.
32 He wode godaz he ashikkara xeygisi ehidi hayso neno itazo ne tana wosin ne bola diza acoza ta ness agadisshin ta nena marida mala nekka ne lageza maranas besne?
Then his master, having given orders to call him, said to him, You wicked servant: all that debt I forgave you, because you besought me.
Ought not you to have shown such pity to your fellow-servant, as I showed to you?
34 Gidi iza bolla diza acoza izi wursi qanxanas gakanas qachana mala qachizaytas athi imidees.
So his master, being provoked, delivered him to the jailors, to remain in their hands until he should clear the debt.
35 Hesa gish inte issay issa wozinappe maronta agikko salon diza ta awaykka intena marena.
Thus will my heavenly Father treat every one of you, who forgives not, from his heart, his brother.
