1 He wode Galila dere hariza Herdosay asay Yesusa nashizaysa siydess.
At that time, Herod the tetrarch heard the report concerning Yeshua,
2 Herdosay ba ashikaratas “Hessa gidikko xamaqiza Yanisay hayqoppe dendidi yidess gusakka! Haysi wuri gitta malatay iza kushen othetizay hessasa” gidess.
and said to his servants, “This is Yochanan the Immerser. He is risen from the dead. That is why these powers work in him.”
3 Herdosay ba isha Piliposa machcho Herodiyada gason Yanisa oythidi qasho keth (woynene) yegidess.
For Herod had arrested Yochanan, bound him, and put him in prison for the sake of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife.
4 Gaasoykka Yanisay Herodossa ne izo ekkana mala wogga gidena gida gishasa. Footnote- Pilip is stil alive
For Yochanan said to him, “It is not lawful for you to have her.”
5 Heredosaykka yanisa wodhanas koyshin asay Yanisa nabe mala xeliza gish babidess.
When he would have put him to death, he feared the multitude, because they counted him as a prophet.
6 Herodosay ba yeletetha galas Herodiyada naya yethan iza ufaysida gish naya iza oychidaz wursi imanas izis caqidess.
But when Herod’s birthday came, the daughter of Herodias danced amongst them and pleased Herod.
7
Therefore he promised with an oath to give her whatever she should ask.
8 Nayakka ayeyi zoren xamaqiza Yanisa hu7ey keren wothada ah7i hanini tas imma gadus.
She, being prompted by her mother, said, “Give me here on a platter the head of Yochanan the Immerser.”
9 He wode kawoy michetidess. Gido atin caaqida gishine izara diza imathata gish giidi nay oychoy polistanamala azazidess.
The king was grieved, but for the sake of his oaths and of those who sat at the table with him, he commanded it to be given,
10 Kiitidine Yanisay woyne kethan dishin qoodhdhe qanxisidess.
and he sent and beheaded Yochanan in the prison.
11 Qanxetida hu7eza keren wothidi nays imida. Nayakka ekkada ba ayeys immadus.
His head was brought on a platter and given to the young lady; and she brought it to her mother.
12 Yanisa kalizayti iza aha ekidi moogidine hanidaysa wursi Yesusas yotida.
His disciples came, took the body, and buried it. Then they went and told Yeshua.
13 Hessa siyida mala Yesusay kasse ba dizaso agidine wogolon gelidi berkka hara poqethaso bidess. Dereykka hessa siydi katamay dizasoppe tohora iza kaalidess.
Now when Yeshua heard this, he withdrew from there in a boat to a deserted place apart. When the multitudes heard it, they followed him on foot from the cities.
14 Yesusay wogolozappe wodhishe daro asa beydi asas michetidess. Saketizaytakka pathidess.
Yeshua went out, and he saw a great multitude. He had compassion on them and healed their sick.
15 Galasaykka qammi qammi bizaysa beyidi iza kalizayti izako shiqidi haysi nu dizasoy bazokko, gadeykka qami qami biza gish gede mandara bidi bes manaz shamana mala asa yeda gida.
When evening had come, his disciples came to him, saying, “This place is deserted, and the hour is already late. Send the multitudes away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves food.”
16 Gido atin Yesusay ista “inte asas manaz imite atin asay banas koshena gidess.
But Yeshua said to them, “They don’t need to go away. You give them something to eat.”
17 Istika istas zaridi “hayssan nus ichachu ukethine nam7u molistappe atin haray bawa” gida.
They told him, “We only have here five loaves and two fish.”
18 Izikka ista ane he dizayta ha tass ekki yite gidess.
He said, “Bring them here to me.”
19 Qassekka asay maata bola utana mala azazides ichachu ukethane nam7u molista ba kushen oykidi ba ayfe pude salo doqu histidi galatidi uketha menthidi bena kalizaytas imidess. Istika asaas imidda.
He commanded the multitudes to sit down on the grass; and he took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, broke and gave the loaves to the disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitudes.
20 Asay wurikka midi kalidess. Hessappe guye iza kalizayti asappe mishin atidaysa tamane nam7u masobe kumeth shishida.
They all ate and were filled. They took up twelve baskets full of that which remained left over from the broken pieces.
21 Mida asay macashane gutha nayti gujetonta atumasi xalala ichachu shi gidana.
Those who ate were about five thousand men, in addition to women and children.
22 Herakka iza kalizayti wogolon gelidi gede he pinth izappe kasetidi pinana mala azazidi asa moyzanas bess guye atidess.
Immediately Yeshua made the disciples get into the boat and go ahead of him to the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.
23 Dereza moyzidape guye wosa wossanas berkka zumma bolla kezidess. Gadey dhuminkka hen zumma bolla berkka dess.
After he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into the mountain by himself to pray. When evening had come, he was there alone.
24 Hessa wode wogoloya abba kantha bishin bulahey dendidi daro metotho oyqidess.
But the boat was now in the middle of the sea, distressed by the waves, for the wind was contrary.
25 Qaamappe koyro kutoy zamare baqishin (uushin) Yesusay abba bollara hamutidi iza kalizayti dizaso yidess.
In the fourth watch of the night, Yeshua came to them, walking on the sea.
26 Yesusa kalizaytikka izi abba bollara hamuti yishin beydi babidi iza moytil7e gidine babidi wasida.
When the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It’s a ghost!” and they cried out for fear.
27 Yesusaykka herakka aykkoy ba tanakko babofite gidess.
But immediately Yeshua spoke to them, saying, “Cheer up! It is I! Don’t be afraid.”
28 Pexirosay Godo, nena gidikko ta abba bollara hamutada neekko bana mala tana azaza gidess.
Peter answered him and said, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the waters.”
29 izikka iza haya gidess. Pexirosaykka wogolozappe wodhidi hatha bolara hamutidi Yesusakko yidess.
He said, “Come!” Peter stepped down from the boat and walked on the waters to come to Yeshua.
30 Gido atin carkoza wolqa beyidi babida gish hathan miteteth oyqidi “Godo tana asha gidi waasidess.”
But when he saw that the wind was strong, he was afraid, and beginning to sink, he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”
31 Yesusay herakka ba kushe yedi oykidi “neno amanoy pacidayso aazas sidhadi?” gidess.
Immediately Yeshua stretched out his hand, took hold of him, and said to him, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?”
32 Pexirosayne Yesusay wogolozan gelida mala carkoy sirphi gidess.
When they got up into the boat, the wind ceased.
33 Hessappe guye wogolon dizayti “Neni tumu Xoossa na” giidi izas goynida.
Those who were in the boat came and worshipped him, saying, “You are truly the Son of God!”
34 Aaba pinidi Genserexe gizaso gakida.
When they had crossed over, they came to the land of Gennesaret.
35 Hen dizayti Yesusa gididaysa erida wode he heran yuyi adhanas diza asas kiita yedida. Asaykka harganchata wursikka Yesusakko ehidess.
When the people of that place recognised him, they sent into all that surrounding region and brought to him all who were sick;
36 Harganchati iza afala xera xala bochana mala Yesusa wosida. Bochidayti wurikka paxida.
and they begged him that they might just touch the fringe of his garment. As many as touched it were made whole.
