1 Hessafe guye Parsawetinne Yerusalameppe yida issi issi Xafeteti Yesusa gaxa yuyi adhidi
And there gathered about him Pharisees and Scribes, who had come from Jerusalem.
2 Yesusa kalizaytappe bagayti mecetonta qita kushera kath mishin be7ida.
And they saw some of his disciples eating bread, with their hands unwashed; and they censured it.
3 Parsawetinne kasse cimma Aydude asati kasse dere woga naganas kushe lo7othi mecetonta kath mi eretena.
For all the Jews and the Pharisees, unless they carefully wash their hands do not eat; because they hold fast the tradition of the Elders.
4 Giya bi simikkokka bolla meceti geyonta dishe kath mi eretena. Hesathokka wancakka, ottokka, sanekka, zin7iza hithekka mecha malata hara wogatakka naagetes.
And coming from the market-place, except they baptize, they do not eat. And there are many other things which they have received to observe, such as the baptisms of cups, and of pots, and of brazen vessels, and of couches.
5 Parsawetinne Xafeti Yesusa “nena kalizayti kasse awata wogamala duss agidi aazas kushe mecetonta kath mizo?” gidi oychidees.
And the Scribes and Pharisees asked him: Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the Elders, but eat bread with their hands unwashed?
6 Izikka istas “Isayasay qodheppe qomo bagan haniza inte gish (haysi derey ba metershan tana bonches woznay gidikko tappe hakidees.
And he said to them: Well did Isaiah the prophet prophecy concerning you, ye hypocrites; as it is written: This people honoreth me with its lips, but their heart is very far from me.
7 Tas mela hada goynytes; issta timirteykka assi wothida woga xala) gidi yotida tuma.” gidees.
And in vain do they give me reverence, while teaching as doctrines the precepts of men.
8 Xoossa woga agidi assi wothida woga nagetees.
For ye have forsaken the commandment of God, and hold fast the tradition of men, the baptisms of cups, and of pots, and many things like these.
9 Qassekka “inte wogas giidi Xoossa woga inte agagiza cincatetha ooggey intes dees.
He said also to them: Full well do ye spurn the precept of God, that ye may establish your tradition!
10 Ays gikko Musey ne ayone ne aawa boncha; ba ayone ba aawa cayizadey mulekka hayqo gides.
For Moses said: Honor thy father and thy mother; and whoever shall revile his father or his mother, shall surely die.
11 Shin inte qasse issi uray ba aawa woykko ba ayyo inte tappe demmanas koshiza mado ta Xoossas immadis gikko
But ye say: If a man say to his father or to his mother, Be it my oblation, whatever thou mayest gain from me:
12 inte qasse hayssaddey ba aawaskka ba ayyeys hara aykokka othana mala koyekista.
then ye suffer him not to do any thing for his father or his mother.
13 Hessa gish inte woga nagana gidi Xoossa qaala lamista. Hesantakka milatiza darota othista.” gides.
And ye reject the word of God, on account of the tradition which ye hand down. And many things like these, ye do.
14 Qassekka Yesusay asa beekko xeygidi “wurikka ta giza siyitene wozinan wothitte.
And Jesus called all the multitude, and said to them: Hear, all ye; and understand.
15 Kareppe ulo gido gelidi ass tunisiza issi miishika deena. Harappekka asse tunisizay kethawappe gede kare keziza misha.
There is nothing without a man which, by entering him, can pollute him. But that which cometh out of him, that it is that polluteth a man.
16 Siyiza haythi dizay siyo” gidees.
Whoever hath ears to hear, let him hear.
17 Izi asa karen agidi keth gelin iza kalizayti izi yotida lemusoza birshech Yesusa oychida.
And when Jesus had entered the house, apart from the multitude, his disciples asked him about this similitude.
18 Izikka ista intesikka yoy gellene? Kareppe gelidi asse tunisiza mishi azikka deena.
And he said to them: Are ye likewise so undiscerning? Do ye not know, that whatever from without entereth into a man, cannot defile him?
19 Kareppe gelizay gede wozinan gidonta; dugge qantha gido geles qasse heppe izade asatethappe gede kare kezes.” Yesusay hessa giday assi miza kathi wurikka gesh gididaysa qoncisanasa.
For it doth not enter into his heart, but into his belly, and is thrown into the digestive process, which carries off all that is eaten.
20 Kalethidikka “asappe kezizazi asse tunises.
But that which proceedeth from a man, that defileth a man.
21 Assa wozina gidoppe kezizay iita qofata laymma ammone, kaysotethi, asse wodho laymeteth,
For from within, from the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adultery, whoredom,
22 yiqeteth, itateth, baletho, laymma kasse, qanateteth, asa sunth moro, otorotethinne, azala.
theft, murder, avarice, malice, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, reviling, haughtiness, folly.
23 Hayti iitta hanoti wuri asappe kezetesinne asse tunisetes” gides.
All these evil things come from within, and defile a man.
24 Heeppe kezidi Xirosa giza dere bidees, hen issade keth gelidi izi hen dizaysa assi erontamala koydees. Gido atin izi hen iza dusay qotistanas danda7etibeyna.
Thence Jesus arose, and went to the border of Tyre and Sidon. And he entered a house, and wished no man to know him; but he could not be concealed.
25 Herakka issi tuna ayanay oykida qi na dizari aya Yesusay hen diza siyada izakko yada iza too bolla kundadus.
For immediately a woman, whose daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him; and she came, and fell before his feet,
26 Macashaya Ayhude gidonta Girike qaala hasa7iza macashi shin izi yeleta gadey Sirofinqe getetes. Izakka yesusay izi nayeppe tuna ayna kesana mala wosadus.
(the woman was a Gentile from Phenicia of Syria), and besought him, that he would expel the demon from her daughter.
27 Izikka zaridi izis “nayta qumma ekki kanas yeganas besonta gish koyro nayti mi kaleto” gides.
Jesus said to her: Permit the children first to be satisfied; for it is not becoming, to take the children's bread and cast it to dogs.
28 Izakka zarada “E Godo kanatikka madda matan de7idi nayta kusheppe gaden wodhidaysa meteskko” gadus.
And she replied, and said to him: Yes, my Lord: and yet the dogs under the table eat the children's crumbs.
29 Izikka “histiko neni hessa gida gish ba daydanthay ne nayeppe kezidees” gidees.
Jesus said to her: Go thou; because of this speech, the demon hath departed from thy daughter.
30 Iza simadda so bishin naya daydanthay yedin paxada hixan zin7idaro demadus.
And she went to her house, and found her daughter lying on a bed, and the demon gone from her.
31 Hesafe Yesusay Xirosa bitappe dendidi Sidona gizasora adhidi Tammu katama gizasora kanthidi gede Galila abbakko gakidees.
Again Jesus departed from the border of Tyre and Sidon, and came to the sea of Galilee, to the border of Decapolis.
32 Assay issi haytha tulene ayfe qoqe assi izakko he ekiyidi Yesusay iza bolla ba kushe wothanan mala wosida.
And they brought to him a deaf and stammering man, and besought him to lay his hand on him.
33 Yesusaykka iza asappe shakki ekki bidi ba kushe biradhista adeza haythan gelithidees, qassekka cuchu cutidi addeza inxarsa bochidees.
And he led him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and spit, and touched his tongue,
34 Pudde salo xelidine tokki shempidi “Efata” gides. Hesikka “Pogetta” gussa.
and looked towards heaven, and sighed, and said to him: Be opened.
35 Herakka addeza haythati pogetida, inxarsaykka birshetin geshi hasa7idees.
And immediately his ears were opened, and the bond of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plainly.
36 Yesusay hayssa be7idayti onaskka yotonta mala azaziddes, gido attin asay izi azazizdaysafe bollara kehi gujidi yotida.
And he charged them to tell no man of it: and the more he charged them, the more they proclaimed it.
37 Derezikka woggappe athi malaletidi “Izi othidaysi wuri lo7o; tuleti siyanamala, mumeti hasa7anamala othides” gida.
And they admired exceedingly, and said: He doeth every thing excellently: he maketh the deaf to hear, and the speechless to talk.
