1 Isti gede Yerusalame Dabirazayte giza zumma achan diza Betefagenne Bitaniya gizaso matida wode Yesuay bena kalizaytappe namm7ata hizgi kitidi;
Now when they were drawing near Jerusalem, to Bethphage and Bethany, at the Mount of Olives, He sent two of His disciples,
2 “Gede inte sinthan diza gutayo bitte, inte he gelida mala hen assi iza togi eronta qashon diza harre gutte inte demmana; birshidi iza ha ekiyitte.
saying to them: “Go into the village opposite you; and as soon as you enter it you will find a foal tied, on which no man has sat. Untie and bring it.
3 Onikka intena hayssa ays ootheti? gikko Godas koshesn gidi yotite, izikka intes eeson zari yedana” gidees.
And if anyone says to you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ say, ‘The Lord has need of it,’ and thereupon he will send it here.”
4 Isstikka bidi issi ketha karen oge bolla qachetti diza hare gutte demidi birshida.
So they went and found the foal tied at the door, out in the street, and they loosed it.
5 Hen eqida issi issi asati “Hare guteza aazas birsheti” gi oychida.
Some of those who stood there said to them, “What are you doing, untying the foal?”
6 Yesusa kalizayti Yesusay istas gidamala asatas yotin eero eki biite gida.
So they answered them just as Jesus had instructed, and they let them go.
7 Gutezakka Yesusakko ehidi ba mayo iza zokko bolla yegin Yesusay iza togidees.
Then they brought the foal to Jesus, and they placed their clothes on it, and He sat on it.
8 Daro asay ba mayo kessi kessi ogge bolla micidees. Baga asay cilila mihta hathi qanxi qanxidi ogge bolla lalidees.
And many spread their clothes on the road, while others were cutting leafy branches from the trees and spreading them on the road.
9 Yesusappe sintharanne guyera diza asay qaala dhoqu hisitidi “Hossana Goda sinthan yizadey anjetidade.
Both those who went in front and those who followed started calling out, saying: “Hosanna!” “Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!”
10 Hanna yizara nu aawa Dawite kawotehaya anjetidaro, hosana bolla salon Xoossi boncheto” gishe wassidees.
“Blessed is the Kingdom of our father David that is coming in the name of the Lord!” “Hosanna in the highest!”
11 Yesusay Yerusalame gakidi hessapekka maqidasse gelidees. He heran dizaysa wursi xelidi gadey qamida gish tamane namm7atara gede Bittanya kezides.
So Jesus entered Jerusalem and went into the temple. And when He had looked around at everything, the hour being late, He went out to Bethany with the twelve.
12 Wontetha galas issti Bittanyappe kezi bishin Yesusay gafides.
Now the next day, as they were leaving Bethany, He was hungry.
13 Izi issi haythi cililida balase getetiza mith hahon beydi ayfey danakonne gidi izikko yidees. Giddo atin balase mith ayfonta wode gidida gish boncofe atin issi ayfeykka izippe demibeynna.
And seeing from a distance a fig tree having leaves, He went to see if perhaps He would find something on it. When He came to it He found nothing but leaves, because it was not fig season.
14 Hessa gish mithiyo “Hanife guye medhinas onikka neppe ayfe moppo” gidees. Iza kalizaytikka izzi gizaysa siyida. (aiōn g165)
So Jesus reacted by saying to it, “Let no one ever eat fruit from you again!” And His disciples were listening. (aiōn g165)
15 Gede Yerusalame bida heppeka gede maqidase gelidi hen bayzizaytanne shamizayta kessi godo oykidees. Mishe lamizayta xaraphezane wolle bayzizayta oyddee gufanthi gufanthi yegidees.
So they came to Jerusalem, and entering the temple Jesus began to drive out those who sold and bought in the temple, and He overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of the dove sellers.
16 Onnikka ay miish tokidi maqidees gibe gidora adhonta mala digidees.
And He would not allow anyone to carry a container through the temple.
17 Istakka tamarsishe “Ta kethi dere wursos Woossa keth gidana geteti xafetibeyne? Gido atin inte qasse kaysonta gongolo kesidista” gidees.
And He kept teaching them by saying: “Is it not written, ‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all the nations’? but you have made it ‘a den of robbers’!”
18 Qessista halaqatinne Muse woga tamarsizayti hessa siyidi iza wosti dhaysanakkone oogge koshu oykida. Giko atin dereykka iza timirttezan malaletida gish izas babida.
Well the scribes and the chief priests heard it, and kept on looking for a way to destroy Him; because they were afraid of Him, in that all the people were astonished at His teaching.
19 Istika gadey qamin katamayppe kezi bida.
When evening came, He went out of the city.
20 Wontetha galas malado isti oggera adhi bishin balasse miththaya xaphoppe melidaro be7ida.
Now in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.
21 Yozi iza wozanan akeketin Phixirosay Yesusa “Astammare hekko hanna ne qangida balaseya meladus” gidees.
And Peter, remembering, said to Him: “Rabbi, look! The fig tree that you cursed has dried up!”
22 Izikka zarid “Xossu ammanitte.
So in answer Jesus said to them: “Have faith in God.
23 Ta intes tummu gays (Oonikka hayssa zummaza ne dhoqalistada gede abban gela) gizakkone hessakka wozanan sidhonta ammanidakko izadees hanana.
Because I tell you assuredly, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be picked up and be thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart but believes that the things he says will happen, he will have whatever he says.
24 Hessa gish inte wossan oychidaz wursi eekida mala ammanikko intes hanana.
That is why I say to you, whatever things you ask for in prayer, believe that you receive, and you will have them.
25 Hessathokka inte wosas eqiza wode inte sallo aaway inte nagara atto gana mala intekka intena qohidayta nagarawursi atto gitte.
“And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father, who is in heaven, may also forgive you your trespasses.
26 Inte atto gonta ixikko inte sallo aawaykka inte nagara atto gena.” gides.
But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father who is in heaven forgive your trespasses.”
27 Qassekka Yerusalamme yida. Yesusay maqidasse kare gidon gedene hanne yuyetishin qessista halaqati Muse woga tamarsizaytinne dere cimmati izakko shiqidi
Then they came again to Jerusalem. And as He was walking in the temple, the chief priests, the scribes and the elders came to Him.
28 “Haysa ne oothizay ay godatethara? Hayta ne oothana mala hayssamala godateth ness ooni immide?” gida.
And they said to Him, “By what authority are you doing these things?” and “Who gave you this authority to do these things?”
29 Yesusaykka istas zaridi “Aanne takka intena issi oycho ooychaysi intekka tass zarikko takka ha yotta ay godatethara oothizakkonne intes yotana.
So in answer Jesus said to them: “I also will ask you one question; answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I am doing these things.
30 Yanisa xinqatey Xoossafe ye asappe? anne tass zaritte” gidees.
The baptism of John: was it from heaven or from men?”
31 Isstikka ba garsan issay issara “Nu saloppe gikko izi nuna histin aazas iza ammanibeyketi? gana.
They considered among themselves, saying: “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will say, ‘So why did you not believe him?’
32 Nu asappekko gikko Yanisay tummu nabbe gididaysa derey wuri ammaniza gish hessaththo gana babida.
But if we say, ‘From men’…”—they feared the people, for everyone held John to really be a prophet.
33 Hessa gish nu eerokko gidi Yesusas zarida. Yesusaykka “Histikko ta hayta aza godatethara oothizakkonne takka intes yotikke” gidees.
So they answered Jesus by saying, “We don't know.” And in answer Jesus said to them, “Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.”
