1 Yesussay bena kaallizayta hizgides “asa dhuphidi nagaran yeggiza miish yoontta aggenna, gido attin yaana dhuphezas gaaso gidizaddes ayye!
Then He said to the disciples: “Things that cause people to fall are bound to come, but woe to him through whom they do come!
2 He uray ha guuthatappe issas dhuphe gidanappe woxa shuchi iza qoodhen qachetin abba gido izi yeggetizakko izas lo7o gidana.
It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea, than that he should cause one of these little ones to fall.
3 Hessa gish inte hu7es naagetitte. Ne ishay nena qohikko hanqqista, izi ba mooro eridi simmikko maara.
Watch out for yourselves: if your brother sins against you, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him.
4 Issi gallassan laappun to zaari zaari qohidi laappun toka zari zari maara giiko maara.
Even if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in that day returns, saying, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive him.”
5 Hawaretikka Godo nuus amano gujja gida.
The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith.”
6 Godaykka gaashe ayfe lagge amanoy intes diikko hayssa etha dhoqqalista baada abban gela tokkista inte giikko izi intes azazettana” gides.
So the Lord said: “If you had faith like a mustard seed has, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted, and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.
7 Qassekka Yesussay hizgides “inte giddofe issi asas goshshanchay woykko dorss heemiza ashkkaray diikko, izi goyidi simmiishni taas maana ka7o giigissa, ta maadda uyana gakanas gixistada taas ootha hessafe guye baggan maasa uyasa gees attin ha7i quma maana aadhdha gizee?
“And which of you, having a slave plowing or tending sheep, will say to him when he comes in from the field, ‘Come at once and recline to eat’?
8
Will he not rather say to him, ‘Prepare something for me to eat, and gird yourself and serve me until I eat and drink, and afterward you will eat and drink’?
9 Histtikko he ashkkara Goday izi iza azazo polida gish iza galati erizee?
Does he thank that slave because he did the things commanded? I guess not!
10 Hessa gish intenikka inte azazettidayssa wursi polida wode, nuni go7ay bayndda oothanchata nuus oothanas bessizaysa poli oothidos gite.”
So likewise you, whenever you have done everything you were told to do, say, ‘We are unworthy slaves, because we have only done what we were supposed to.’”
11 Hessafe guye Yesussay Yerusaleme bishe Samaryarane Galila achchara aadhdhidees.
Now as He was traveling toward Jerusalem, He went along between Samaria and Galilee.
12 Issi mannidara gelida wode inchiracha hargiza tamu asati iza demmida. Istika haahon eqqidi
And as He entered a certain village, ten men met Him—being lepers they stood at a distance.
13 ba qaala dhoqqu histtidi “Yesussa! Godo! nuus michchistarkki” gida.
They called out, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”
14 Izika ista beydda wode “biite intena qeesetas beesitte” gides. istikka buro bishe oge bolla paxida.
And paying attention He said to them, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.” It happened that as they went they were cleansed!
15 Istappe issay ba paxidayssa beyidi ba qaala dhoqqu histtidi Xoossa bonchishe simmides.
Well one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, glorifying God with a loud voice;
16 Izika Yesussa toho bolla kunddidi galattides, izikka Samariya biitta asa.
then he fell on his face at His feet, thanking Him—and he was a Samaritan!
17 Yesussaykka addeza “paxidayti tamu assi detenne histini uddufunati awa bidoo?” giidi oychchides.
So Jesus reacted by saying: “Were not all ten cleansed? So where are the nine?
18 Haysa dumma dere asappe attin Xoossa galatizay baawa gusee?
None were found to return and give glory to God except this foreigner!”
19 Addezakka zaaridi denddada ba nena ne amanoy pathides gides.
Then He said to him, “Get up and go; your faith has made you well.”
20 Xoossa kawotethi aydde yaanakko Farsaweti Yesussa oychchida wode Yesussay “Xoossa kawotethi beettiza malaatatan yuukku” giidi zaaridees.
Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the Kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said: “The Kingdom of God does not come with observation;
21 Asay Xoossa kawotethi haan daysu woykko heen daysu gaanas daandda7etenna, Xoossa ka7otethi inte giddon daysu.
nor will they say, ‘Look, here!’ or ‘Look, there!’ because indeed the Kingdom of God is within you.”
22 Bena kaallizaytaskka “asa na gallassatappe issi gallasyo beyanas inte amotana wodey yaana, gido attin inte beyekkista” gides.
Then He said to the disciples: “Days are coming when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of the Man, and you will not see it.
23 Asay intes haan daysu woykko heen daysu gaana shin inte ista kaallidi booppitte.
And they will say to you, ‘Look, here!’ or ‘Look, there!’ Do not go along or follow.
24 Gaasoykka wolqanthi wolqamidi salo gaxappe salo gaxa gakanas po7isiza mala asa nay yiza gallas iza mala hanana.
Because just like the lightning that lights the whole sky when it flashes, so also will the Son of the Man be in His day.
25 Gido attin haysi wuri hananappe koyro asa nay daro meto ekkanasne hayssa ha yelletethan kadhistanas besses.
But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.
26 Nohe wode handaysa mala asa na wodenka hessaththo hanana.
Also, just as it was in the days of Noah, so will it also be in the days of the Son of the Man.
27 Nohey markabben gelana gallas gakanas asay miishnine uyishin ekishine gelishin dhaysiza haathi yiidi wursika dhaysides.
They were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.
28 Looxe wodekka iza mala handees, asay meesinne uyes bayzesinne shammees tookizaz tokees keethekka keexxetes.
Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they were eating, drinking, buying, selling, planting, building—
29 Shin Looxey Soddomeppe kezida gallas shuch mithi qoronta tamay diinney saloppe bukkidi wursi dhaysides.
but on the day Lot went out from Sodom, fire and brimstone rained down from heaven and destroyed them all.
30 Asa nay qonciza gallas hessaththo hanana.
Even so will it be in the day when the Son of the Man is revealed.
31 He wode ba keeththa bolla diza uray oonikka keeththa giddon diza miish ekkana giidi wodhoppo, hessathokka goshsha son diza asi guye simmofo.
“In that day, he who is on the housetop, and his goods in the house, let him not go down to get them; and likewise he who is in the field, let him not turn back.
32 Looxe machcho qoppite.
Remember Lot's wife!
33 Be deyo gam7isana koyizay wuri dhaysana ba shemppo aathi immiza uray gam7isana.
Whoever seeks to save his life will lose it, and whoever ‘wastes’ it will preserve it.
34 Ta intes gays he wode omars nam77u assi issi hiixxan zin7ana, isoy ekettana isoy attanna.
I tell you: on that night there will be two men in one bed; one will be taken and the other left.
35 Nam77u maccashati issife gaaccishin isiniya ekettana hankora attanna.
Two women will be grinding together; one will be taken and the other left.”
36 Nam77u assi issife goshsha son daana issay ekettana issay attanna.
37 Istika zaaridi Godo isti awa ekettanee? gida. izikka anhay diza son ankotti shiiqqana gides.
They reacted by saying to Him, “Where, Lord?” He said to them, “Where there is a carcass, there will the vultures also be gathered.”
