1 Hesafe guye Yesussay galila garssan yuyettdees, gido attin Yuhudan yuyanas kooybeeyna, gasooykka Ayhudat iza wodhana kooyza gishshasiko.
After this Jesus moved from place to place in Galilee. He would not go about in Judaea, because the Jews were seeking an opportunity to kill Him.
2 He wode Ayhudata dase Ba77eley matti uttdes.
But the Jewish Festival of the Tent-Pitching was approaching.
3 Hesa gish Yesussa ishshati izakoo shiqqidi hizzigida. “nena kallizayt ne ooththiza oosoza beyana mala ne heyssafe denddada Yuhuda dere ba.
So His brothers said to Him, "Leave these parts and go into Judaea, that not only we but your disciples also may witness the miracles which you perform.
4 Gasooykka qooccen erristana koyzadey ba ooso geeman oothena, neka heytantta wursa ooththashe nena allamen qoonccsana koshshes.”
For no one acts in secret, desiring all the while to be himself known publicly. Since you are doing these things, show yourself openly to the world."
5 Istt hessa gida gasooy iza ishshataka gidin izan ammanonttayta gidida gishshasiko.
For even His brothers were not believers in Him.
6 Yesussayka isttas hizzigides. “ta wodey buroo gakiibeyna, inte wodey gidiko wuriso wode intes gigako.
"My time," replied Jesus, "has not yet come, but for you any time is suitable.
7 Deerey intena ixxana danddaena, tana gidikoo ixxes, gasooyka ta allame oosoy iita gididdaysa izas markkattza gishshasiko.
It is impossible for the world to hate you; but me it does hate, because I give testimony concerning it that its conduct is evil.
8 Hai inte gede ba77elezaso bite, tass wodey gakontta gish hayssa ha Ba77elezaso bikke.”
As for you, go up to the Festival. I do not now go up to this Festival, because my time is not yet fully come."
9 Hesa gidii Yesussay Galilan attdess.
Such was His answer, and He remained in Galilee.
10 Gido attin iza ishshat Ba77elezaso bidappe guye Yesussay qonccera gidontta qotara ba77elezaso bidees.
When however His brothers had gone up to the Festival, then He also went up, not openly, but as it were privately.
11 Ayhudat iza “awan diize?” gishe Ba77elezason koydda.
Meanwhile the Jews at the Festival were looking for Him and were inquiring, "Where is he?"
12 Deereyka Iza gish garisara sasuqi hasaettdes. issi issi asat “izi loo7o asakoo” gishin bagay qase “loo7o gidena izi dere baleththes” gides.
Among the mass of the people there was much muttered debate about Him. Some said, "He is a good man." Others said, "Not so: he is imposing on the people."
13 Gido attin Ayhudata dannatas babiza gish oonnika iza gish qoonccen hasaibeyna.
Yet for fear of the Jews no one spoke out boldly about Him.
14 Ba77elezii wurana baaga gakishin Yesussay xoossa keeth bidi tammariso oykkdees.
But when the Festival was already half over, Jesus went up to the Temple and commenced teaching.
15 Ayhudat “haysii addezi tammarontta dishshe hayssa wursi woostti erride” gidi malaletidda.
The Jews were astonished. "How does this man know anything of books," they said, "although he has never been at any of the schools?"
16 Hessa gish Yesussay hizzgdes. “ta tammarithiza timmiritey tana kittda ta Aawape immetides attin tape gidenna.
Jesus answered their question by saying, "My teaching does not belong to me, but comes from Him who sent me.
17 Tana kittdaysa sheene ooththana koyzadeey dikko haysii ha timmiritey Xoossafe beetdaysa woykko ta tape hasaidaysa gidikkoka errana.
If any one is willing to do His will, he shall know about the teaching, whether it is from God or originates with me.
18 Bepe hasaizadeey ba boncho koyyes, kittidade boncho koyzadeey gidiko izi tummancha, wordooy iza bolla denna.
The man whose teaching originates with himself aims at his own glory. He who aims at the glory of Him who sent him teaches the truth, and there is no deception in him.
19 Mussey intes woga immidess gideene? gidikkoka inte garisan wog nagii poliidadey oonka deena, inte azass tana wodhana koyeti?”
Did not Moses give you the Law? And yet not a man of you obeys the Law. Why do you want to kill me?"
20 Deereyka iza “ne bolla dayydanthth dees! ne wodhana kooyzay oonne?” gidees.
"You are possessed by a demon," replied the crowd; "no one wants to kill you."
21 Yesussayka isttas hizzgi zarides “ta issi ooso ooththadiss inte wurikka hano ha oosoy malaleteista.
"One deed I have done," replied Jesus, "and you are all full of wonder.
22 Musseey intes qaxxara woga immidees, he wogayyka immeetiday kase aawatape beetidees attin Mussepe gidena. histtin hekko intekka sambbatta gaalasiika asse qaxxarista.
Consider therefore. Moses gave you the rite of circumcision (not that it began with Moses, but with your earlier forefathers), and even on a Sabbath day you circumcise a child.
23 Histtiko Musse wogay sharetontta mala assi smbbata gaalas qaxaretiysa gidiko histtin ta sambbata gaalas asas kummetha asateth paththiin azzas ta bolla hanqqetet?
If a child is circumcised even on a Sabbath day, are you bitter against me because I have restored a man to perfect health on a Sabbath day?
24 Suurre pirda pirdite attin asa ayfeso xeelidi maadoo pirda pirdofite.”
Do not form superficial judgements, but form the judgements that are just."
25 Yerusalame asape issi issi asat hizzgda “istt woodhana koyza addezii hayssa gideene?”
Some however of the people of Jerusalem said, "Is not this the man they are wanting to kill?
26 heko izi qoonccen hasaees shin istt iza aykooka gibeytena, haysii xoossay kittidade giddidaysa dannat tummu eerizoshsha?
But here he is, speaking openly and boldly, and they say nothing to him! Can the Rulers really have ascertained that this man is the Christ?
27 Histtin haysii addeezi awa asakone nu erroos, xoossay kitiddadey yishshin qaasse izi awapekone errizadey oonnika deena,
And yet we know this man, and we know where he is from; but as for the Christ, when He comes, no one can tell where He is from."
28 Hesa gish Yesussay xoossa keeththan tammarththishe ba qaala dhoqu histtdi “inte tana tummu errata, ta awape yidakone inte errata, gido attin tan ta sheenen yabeykke, tana kittdaysi izi tummancha, gidoshin inte qasse iza errekkista.
Jesus therefore, while teaching in the Temple, cried aloud, and said, "Yes, you know me, and you know where I am from. And yet I have not come of my own accord; but there is One who has sent me, an Authority indeed, of whom you have no knowledge.
29 Ta gidikoo iza achchafe yida gishshine izi tana kittda gish ta iza errays” gidees.
I know Him, because I came from Him, and He sent me."
30 Hesa woode iza oykanass koydaa, gido attin buroo wodey gakibeyna gish oonnika oykkbeyna.
On hearing this they wanted to arrest Him; yet not a hand was laid on Him, because His time had not yet come.
31 Gido attin derezape darooy izan ammanides, asay hizgidees “xoossay kittiddadey yizza wode haysi addezi ooso malatape bollaara hara ootthhane?”
But from among the crowd a large number believed in Him. "When the Christ comes," they said, "will He perform more miracles than this teacher has performed?"
32 Assay Yesussa gish garssara sasuketi hasaishshin Parssawet siyda, hessa gish qeessista halaqatne parssawet yesussa oykkanas Xoossa keethth pengge naggizayta yediida.
The Pharisees heard the people thus expressing their various doubts about Him, and the High Priests and the Pharisees sent some officers to apprehend Him.
33 He wode Yesussay “ta intenara guuththa wode dashshana, hessafe guye tana kittidaysako simma bana.
So Jesus said, "Still for a short time I am with you, and then I go my way to Him who sent me.
34 Inte tana koyana shin demekkista, inte ta dizzaso yanas danddaekeista.”
You will look for me and will not find me, and where I am you cannot come."
35 Hesa gish Ayhudata dannat ba garssan issay issara, “haysi addezii nu demmontta mala awa baneshsha? oonne errizzay Girikista giddo laleti diza Ayhuddatakoo bidi Girikista tammarisanesha?
The Jews therefore said to one another, "Where is he about to betake himself, so that we shall not find him? Will he betake himself to the Dispersion among the Gentiles, and teach the Gentiles?
36 Izi (inte tana koyana shin demekkista, ta dizasoo inte yanas danddaekista gishin hes ay gusee?)” gida.
What do those words of his mean, 'You will look for me, but will not find me, and where I am you cannot come'?"
37 Ba77eleeza wurithetha gita gaalas Yesussay dendidii eqqidne ba qaala dhoqu histtdii “hethth sammottda urray dikoo ha taakko yidi uuyoo.
On the last day of the Festival--the great day--Jesus stood up and cried aloud. "Whoever is thirsty," He said, "let him come to me and drink.
38 Maxxafay gida mala tana ammanizadefe deyoo haththa pullitooy pullitana.” gidees.
He who believes in me, from within him--as the Scripture has said--rivers of living water shall flow."
39 Izi hessa gidaay izan ammanizayt buropee ekkana xiilo ayana gishshasiko, gasooyka yesussay boonchetza wodey buroo gakontta gish xiilo ayanay buroo qoonccoontta immetibeyna.
He referred to the Spirit which those who believed in Him were to receive; for the Spirit was not bestowed as yet, because Jesus had not yet been glorified.
40 Hessa gish derezape issi issi asat he qaala siydii “yana giza nabey tummape hayssakoo” gida.
After listening to these discourses, some of the crowd began to say, "This is beyond doubt the Prophet."
41 “Harati haysii xoossay kittiddadeko” gida. baggayyt qasse “xoossay kittiddadey Gliilape waan yane?
Others said, "He is the Christ." But others again, "Not so, for is the Christ to come from Galilee?
42 xoossay kittiddadey Dawitte zeereththape yeletanaysane dawitte katamma Bettelemepe yanaysii kase geshsha maxxafan xaafetibeyne?” gida.
Has not the Scripture declared that the Christ is to come of the family of David and from Bethlehem, David's village?"
43 Hessa gish iza gaason derey ba gidoon shaaketi wodhides.
So there was a violent dissension among the people on His account.
44 Isttafe issi issi asat iza oykkana koyda, gido attin oonikka oykibbeyna.
Some of them wanted at once to arrest Him, but no one laid hands upon Him.
45 Hessafe guye xoossa keeth naggizayt qeessata hallaqatakone Parisawettako simmid bida, izetika “aazas iza ekontta yidet?” gida.
Meanwhile the officers returned to the High Priests and Pharisees, who asked them, "Why have you not brought him?"
46 Wootadaretika zaridi “ha addezi hasaizaysa mala ay assika hasai errena” gida.
"No mere man has ever spoken as this man speaks," said the officers.
47 parssaweti istta “intekka baletidet?” gida.
"Are you deluded too?" replied the Pharisees;

"has any one of the Rulers or of the Pharisees believed in him?
49 Haysii mussee woga errontta derey tummape qanggetdaysa.

Nicodemus interposed--he who had formerly gone to Jesus, being himself one of them.
51 “Nu wogan issi mottetizadey ba mottos malththe immin siyonttane izi ay ooththidakone erretontta dishshin pirday pirdeet errize?” gides.
"Does our Law," he asked, "judge a man without first hearing what he has to say and ascertaining what his conduct is?"
52 Isttika “neka galila asse? galilape nabey denddontaysa qoorerethada gakka erraa” gida.
"Do you also come from Galilee?" they asked in reply. "Search and see for yourself that no Prophet is of Galilaean origin."
53 hessafe guye isay isay beso bides.
[So they went away to their several homes;
