1 Hesafe guye Yesussay xiibradoose geetettizaso gaalila abbafee he pinthth pinnidees.
Afterward, Jesus crossed the sea of Galilee, also called of Tiberias;
2 Yesussay hargganchata paththida malata beydda gish daroo asay iza kaaliides.
and a great multitude followed him, because they had seen the miraculous cures which he had performed.
3 Yesussay bena kaalizaytara pude zumma bolla kezii uttddes.
And Jesus went up on a mountain; where he sat down with his disciples.
4 He woode Ayhudaata paziiga ba77eley matii utdees.
Now the passover, the Jewish festival, was near.
5 He woode daroo derey Izakoo yizayssa Yesussay dhoqu gi xeeliidi pilphphossa “hayssa deeras gidana quuma awapee shammana danddaiizoon?” gidess.
Jesus, lifting up his eyes, and perceiving that a great multitude was flocking to him, said to Philip, Whence shall we buy bread to feed these people?
6 Yesussay Pilphphoossa hessathoo oychchiday iza paccanako, gido attin izi ba ooththanaysa erress.
(This he said to try him; for he knew himself, what he was to do.)
7 pilphphossayka izas “issi issi urras issi bars gidza kath shamizakooka numm7u xeetu dinaren shaammida kathka hayssas gidena” gidees.
Philip answered, Two hundred denarii would not purchase bread enough to afford every one a morsel.
8 Yesussa kalizaytape isay siimoona Phxroossa isha Indryaassa,
One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, said to him,
9 “Ichchachu bangga ukethine namm7u mole oykkida issi nay hayssan dees, gidoo attin hana hayssa ha derezaas awa gakane?” gidees.
Here is a boy who has five barley loaves, and two small fishes; but what are they among so many?

Jesus said, Make the men recline. Now, there was much grass in the place. So they reclined; in number about five thousand.
11 Hesafe guyee Yesussay uketha ekidi galata wossa wosidi uttdaa asas gishshides, molezaka hessathokaa gishshechides asay wurkka bes gidiza demiides.
And Jesus took the loaves, and having given thanks, distributed them to those who had reclined. He gave them also of the fishes, as much as they would.
12 Asay wurikka kaalli miin Yesussay bena kallizayta “maaddan attidaa kaththa isinooka ashoontta shishshite” gidees.
When they had eat sufficiently, he said to his disciples, Gather up the fragments which remain, that nothing be lost.
13 Isttika asay mishshin ichchachu ukethafe attida tammane namm7u leemate kumeth shishshida.
They, therefore, gathered, and with the fragments which the people had left of the five barley loaves, they filled twelve baskets.
14 Asayka Yesussay ooththida malata beyydi “hayssaadey tummape ha allame yana nabezakko” gidess.
When those men had seen the miracle which Jesus had wrought they said, This is certainly the prophet who comes into the world.
15 Asay qase wolqara Yesussa kawothana qopidaysa a erridi Yesussay qaseka isttafe haki bidi zumma bolla kezzdes.
Then Jesus, knowing that they intended to come and carry him off, to make him king, withdrew again, alone, to the mountain.
16 Gadey qaammishshin Yesussa kalizayt duge abbakoo woodhida.
In the evening, his disciples went to the sea,

and having embarked, were passing by sea to Capernaum. It was now dark; and Jesus had not come to them.

And the water was raised by a tempestuous wind.
19 Iza kallzayt baga saate ogge mala wogoloza lagidape guyee Yesussay abba balara toora hamutti wogolozakoo mattishin demmidi baabbida.
When they had rowed about twenty-five or thirty furlongs, they observed Jesus walking on the sea, very near the bark, and were afraid.
20 Izika isttas “tankoo! baboopte!” gidees.
But he said to them, It is I, be not afraid.
21 Isttika iza uhaaththaayysara gede wogoloza gi doo ekkana koyda, heraka wogolozika istt banaso gakides.
Then they gladly received him into the bark; and the bark was immediately at the place whither they were going.

24 Asayka Yesussay woykko iza kalizaytti hen baynddaysa beydii he wogolotan gelidi yesussa koshuu Qifranahomee bides.
knowing, besides, that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, embarked, and went to Capernaum, seeking Jesus.
25 Abbafe he pinththan iza demmidi “asttamare! ne aydee hayssa yadii” gidda.
Having found him on the opposite shore, they said to him, Rabbi, when did you come hither?
26 Yesussayka isttas “ta intes tumma gayys inte tana koyzay kath mi kaallida gish attin malata be7ida gish gideena.
Jesus answered, Most assuredly, I say to you, you seek me, not because you saw miracles, but because you eat of the loaves, and were satisfied.

Work not for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures through eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you; for to him the Father, that is, God, has given his attestation. (aiōnios g166)
28 isttika iza “histtin Xoossa ooso ooththanas nu azi ooththino?” gida.
They asked him, therefore, What are the works which God requires us to do?
29 Yesussayka “Xoossa oosoy Xoossi kiitida iza nazan ammano.” gidii isttas zaardes.
Jesus answered, This is the work which God requires--that you believe on him whom he has sent forth.
30 Isttika izas “nu beyddi nena ammanana mala ne nuna aaza malata beesane? qaseka azi ooththane? gides.
They replied, What miracles, then, do you, that seeing it, we may believe you? What do you perform?

Jesus then said to them, Most assuredly, I say to you, Moses did not give you the bread of heaven: but my Father gives you the true bread of heaven:
33 Gasooyka Xoossa qummay salope wodhidi allamees deyoo imiizaysako” gides.
for the bread of God is that which descends from heaven, and gives life to the world.
34 Hesa gish asay “Godo hessa mala qumma nuss wuriso wode immarkkii” gides.
They said, therefore, to him, Master, give us always this bread.

This is the will of him who sent me, that whoever recognizes the Son, and believes on him, should obtain eternal life, and that I should raise him again at the last day. (aiōnios g166)
41 Hesa gish Yesussay “salope wodhidda qummay tana” gidda gish ayhudat iza bolla zuzumeetida.
The Jews then murmured against him, because he said, I am the bread which descended from heaven:
42 “hayisii Yoseefoo na Yesussa gideene? iza aawane iza aayoo nu errokoni? histtin hai izi (salope wodhadis) waani gizze?” gida.
and they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How, then, does he say, I descended from heaven!
43 Yesussayka isttas hizzgides “inte intee garrisaan gugummista.

I am the living bread, which descended from heaven. Whosoever eats of this bread, shall live forever; and the bread that I will give, is my flesh, which I give for the life of the world. (aiōn g165)
52 Hesa wode Ayhuddat “haysi addeez nu iza ashsho mana mala woostt iimane?” gidi ba garssan palameetida.
The Jews then debated among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat?

This is the bread which descended from heaven. It is not like what your fathers eat, for they died: he that eats this bread, shall live for ever. (aiōn g165)
59 Yesussay hayssa Qihaaththairanahomeen ayhudata woosa keeththan tammirisiza wode yotiddes.
This discourse he spoke in the synagogue, teaching in Capernaum.
60 Iza kaallizaytape darzzayt hessa siydii “haysi yoozi dexxoko hayssa oonni ekkane danddaize?” gida.
Many of his disciples having heard it, said, This is hard doctrine; who can understand it?

From this time, many of his disciples withdrew, and accompanied him no longer.

Then said Jesus to the twelve, Will you also go away?
68 Hessa wode Simoonna geetettiza phxxirossay “Godo ne medhina deyooy dishin nu oonakoo banee? (aiōnios g166)
Simon Peter answered, Master, to whom should we go? You have the words of eternal life: (aiōnios g166)
69 Ne geshsha Xoossa na gididdayysa erridi nun ammanidos” gidees.
and we believe, and know that you are the Holy One of God.
70 Yesussayka istta “ta intena tammane namm7ista doorabeykina? histtin intefe isaay Xallaeko.” gidees.
