< Yanisa Mishiracho 4 >
1 He woode Yesussay Yanssapa bollara daaro asa bena kalizadey othizayssane xammaqzayssa Paarssaweti siyyda.
Now when Jesus knew that the Pharisees had heard, “Jesus is making and baptizing more disciples than John”
2 Gido attn xmmaqizayti iza kalizzytape atin izi xmmaxxbeyna.
(although Jesus Himself was not baptizing, but His disciples),
3 Iza gish hasettizaysa Paarsaweti siyydayssa Yesussay eerdi Yihhudda derre aggdi Gaalia dere simmi bidees.
He left Judea and went away into Galilee.
4 Izi he bishshin Sammaryara adhi busi izas dosa gidoonta maane gidides.
Now He needed to go through Samaria;
5 Heesa gissh Sikkaro getettizzaso Smmarya Katamma bidees. Sikkara Yaqoobeey ba naa Yoosehaaththaos imida bita achan daysu.
so He comes to a city of Samaria called Sychar, near the plot of land that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.
6 Henika Yaaqobbe hatha olay dees. Yesussay o7gge haamutti dabburidi gish he o7llay achchan uttidees. Wodeykka gllassape usuppune Ssaate mala.
Now Jacob's well was there; so Jesus, being worn out from the journey, sat as He was by the well. It was about 6 p.m.
7 Hesaa woode isi Saammarya dere Mccash dizaara haathe tikkanas he hatha tikanas he hatha olakko yaddus. Yesussyka izo “tana haath ushsha” gides.
A woman of Samaria comes to draw water. Jesus says to her, “Give me a drink.”
8 Hessi hanishin Yesusaa kallizzayta qumma shshamana kattamma bida.
(His disciples had gone into the town to buy food.)
9 Hinna sammarrya Maacashaya Yesussa “ne Ayyhhuda Assi gida utada waanaada tana saammariyya machchas (hathe ushsha) ga o7ychazii?” gadus. Iza hessa gidaay Ayyhhudda Assasinne Sammarriya asa gagoteththi donnta gishasa.
So the Samaritan woman says to Him, “How can you, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, being a Samaritan woman?” (for Jews do not associate with Samaritans).
10 Yesussayka Izis “Xoossa iimotaayne nena (tana hathe uusha) gizzadey izi o7naakone ne eeriazzko ne iza woosana beses. Izika ness deeyo hath nees immanakoshin” gides.
Jesus answered and said to her: “If you knew the gift of God, and who is the one saying to you, ‘Give me a drink,’ you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.”
11 Izaka Izas hizgadus. “Goodo nees hath duqqza miishi deena haththa olaykka darro cimma, histin ne deeyo hatha Awaappe demmane?
The woman says to Him: “Sir, you don't even have a bucket, and the well is deep; so where do you get this living water?
12 Ne haayssa haththa o7llazza nuus immida nu Aawwa Yiqqoobeppe Addazzi Izzine iza nayti iza mmhhetikka haaysa ha o7llape haath uyydaa.”
You aren't greater than our father Jacob, are you? He gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did his sons and his livestock.”
13 Yesussay izis hizgidees “hayyssa ha haththafe uyzzaye wuri namma7nthoo ssamottidi zari hara uyaanashshn.
Jesus answered and said to her: “Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again,
14 Ta imizza hath uyzzadey medhinas mulleka samoottena. Gssoykka ta immiza hath uyizzades medhina deyoos ppulttiza puullto hath gidana.” (aiōn , aiōnios )
but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never ever thirst; rather, the water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water, welling up into eternal life.” (aiōn , aiōnios )
15 Maccashshayaka “Goodo heeyssafe guye tanna heththi saammonta mallane qaseesaka ta heththi tikkana ha yonnta mmalla hessa ne giza haththa malla hathth tass imaarrkii!” gadus.
The woman says to Him, “Sir, give me this water! so that I may not thirst, nor come here to draw.”
16 Yesussayka izo “baadane ne azzinna xega ekkada ya” gides.
Jesus says to her, “Go, call your husband and come back here.”
17 Maaccashayakka zaradaa “tas azinnay deena” hizgiin Yesussay hizgidees “(ne tas azzinay deena) guussay tumukko.”
The woman answered and said, “I don't have a husband.” Jesus says to her: “You stated correctly that you do not have a husband,
18 Gasooykka kase nes iichachuu azznati detes, qasse ha7i nenara dizzayyssi ne azzina giddenaa, hessa gish ne tummu gaddasa.”
because you have had five husbands, and the one you have now is no husband of yours. You spoke the truth there!”
19 Maccashaya izas hizgadus “Goodo neni nabe gdisayssa ta ha7i erraddis.”
The woman says to Him: “Sir, I perceive that you are a prophet.
20 Kasse nu awwatti haayssa zumaa bolla gooynidaa. Innte qasse “Assaye gooynnanass besizzasay Yerrussallamekko geista.”
Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, while you (pl) say that the place where one must worship is in Jerusalem.”
21 Yesussaykka izzis hizgides “hanne maaccashshaye Xoossa aawas haayysa zuma boolla woykko Yerrussallamen inte gooynnota wodey yanaysa amaana”
Jesus says to her: “Woman, believe me, a time is coming when neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father.
22 Intene inte eroonta Xoossas goyynetta. Nu gidikko asas atootethi Ayyhudeppe giddida gishsha nuni nu erriza Xoossas goyynos.
You [Samaritans] worship what you do not know; we [Jews] worship what we do know, because the salvation is from the Jews.
23 Gido atin tuumu goynnizzayti Xoossa aawas Ayyananinne tumatethan goynizza woddey buuro yaanna. Haray atoshshn haiikka yiddes. Xoossa aawaykka kooyzay heesa malla gooyniizaytta.
But the time is coming, in fact now is, when the genuine worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth. Really, because the Father is looking for such people to worship Him.
24 “Xossi ba hu7es a7yanna. Iza goynizayti aynaninne tumatethan gooynanass beesees.”
God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
25 Macashayakka “Xossay tiyidade Kirstosay yanaassa ta errayys, izi yiidi haniizzaz wurrsi nuus yoottana” gaddus.
The woman says to Him: “I know that Messiah is coming (who is called Christ). When He comes He will explain everything to us.”
26 Yesussayka izis “hii neenara hssaizzay ta izzakko.” giddes.
Jesus says to her, “I am He, the one who is talking with you!”
27 Hessi haniishshin izza kallizzayta ba biddassoppe simmida. Yesussay Maaccashshara hassa7izaysa maallalletida. Giddo atiin “hane a77y kooyazi? wykko haniira a7zzas hassazz?” giiddi o77nikka oychchana.
At that point His disciples arrived, and they were amazed that He was talking with a woman; yet no one said, “What do you want?” or “Why are You talking with her?”
28 Hessafe guuyye Mccashshaya otooza hen agagada geede kattama bada, asas.
So the woman left her water jar, went her way into the town, and says to the men:
29 “Ta oththidaz wurrssi tass yottdadey ha yiddi beeyte, oone erazzy yanna Xossay tiyida Kirstosay izakkonne!” gadus.
“Come see a man who told me everything I ever did! Could this be the Messiah?”
30 Assayka kattamape kezzidi Yessusako bides.
So out they went from the town and started toward Him.
31 He wode Yesussa kalizzyti Yesussa “Asstamarre qumma ma” gdii wossida.
Now in the meantime the disciples were urging Him saying, “Rabbi, eat.”
32 Izi qaas “inte eronttay ta mizza qummay tas dees.” gidees.
But He said to them, “I have food to eat that you do not know about.”
33 Hssa gsha iza kalizayti “aykko miza kathth asii izas ehideshsh” giidi ba grrssan hasaeetda.
So the disciples started saying to one another, “Could someone have brought Him something to eat?”
34 “Yesussayka istas zaridi ta quumay tana kiitda ta aawa shene o7thone iza ootho polo” gides.
Jesus says to them: “My food is to do the will of Him who sent me and to complete His work.
35 Inte qaas “kaththa mxxay gkkans buro o7yddu agnna a7tddes gista gideketi? Qaas ta gidikko intena (doqu giidi kaththay maxaa gakiidaysa xeelitee.) gays.
Do you not say, ‘There are four months before the harvest comes?’ Well I say, Look! Lift your eyes and observe the fields; they are white for harvest already!
36 Maxxizadey ba damussa ekaana, medhianas gidizza ayfe shishana, hessagish zerizzadeynne maxizadeey isfe ufe7istana. (aiōnios )
Now he who reaps receives pay and gathers fruit into eternal life, so that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. (aiōnios )
37 Hesa gsha isadey zerana hara uray maxxana getettiza lemusooy tuuma.
Now the saying, ‘One is the sower and another the reaper,’ is true in this:
38 Ta intena inte daburontayssa maxnamalla yedadis. Harati oothon daburida gido attin inte ista dabursan go7etidista.”
I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored and you have entered into their labors.”
39 Mcashaya “ta oothidazi wurrsi tas izi yootides” gada asas marrkatida malla katamape daroo Samariya asay izan amanides.
Now many of the Samaritans from that city believed into Him because of the word of the woman, testifying that “He told me everything I ever did!”
40 Hesagisha Samarriya asay Yesussako yidine istakoon gmaa7nmalla wosiida. Izikka nma7u gallas hen gamides.
So when the Samaritans came to Him they urged Him to stay with them; and He did stay there two days.
41 Iza Qalla siydi daroo asay Iza amaanides.
Many more believed through His own word,
42 Macashayokka “ha7i nu iza amanizzay ne yootida qalla gish xalla gidonta nuuka nu baggra izape siyyda gishane tumaappe izi derre ashshizade gididaysa erida gishasa” gida.
and they kept saying to the woman, “It is not just because of what you said that we believe, because we ourselves have heard Him, and we know that this One is truly the Messiah, the Savior of the world!”
43 Yesusay Samariyan nm77u gallasa gam7idappe guye Galillaa bidess.
So after the two days He departed from there and went on into Galilee.
44 Izi ba baggra “nabey ba derren boonchistan” gi yootides.
(For Jesus Himself testified that a prophet does not have honor in his own country.)
45 Gido atn izi Gallila bin Gallia asay Iza loo7ethi mooki ekkides. Gasoykka pazziga Ba7ale boonchana Yerusalame bidason hen dishshin izi oothidaysa wurrsi deyyda gishshasa.
So when He came into Galilee the Galileans welcomed Him, having seen all the things that He did in Jerusalem, at the festival; for they too had gone to the festival.
46 Hessafe guye yesussay hathe Wayyne cajje oothida Gllilla derre garrsan dzza Qanna getittza ktama namantho bidees. He wode Qifrnahomen izas nay sakettida isi kawo shuumey dees.
So Jesus went again to Cana of Galilee, where He made the water wine. Now there was a certain royal official whose son was sick in Capernaum.
47 Izika Yesussay Yihudda dereppe gede Galilla yidayysa siydi Yesussako bidees. Yesussay dugge Qifrnahoome wodhanmallane daroo saketdii haykqqana gizza naaza pathanamalla Yesussa woossidees.
When this man heard that Jesus had come out of Judea into Galilee, he went to Him and implored Him to come down and heal his son, for he was about to die.
48 Yesussaka izas “inte gita malatatanne malallsizaaz beyoonta aykokka amanekkta” gidees.
So Jesus said to him, “Unless you people see signs and wonders you will not believe!”
49 Shumezikka zaridi “Godoo ta naazi hayyqoonta elela woodharkki?” gides.
The official says to Him, “Sir, come down before my child dies!”
50 Yesussaka iza “neni ne soo ba nazi paxideess.” gidess. Adezikka Yesussay izas yootida Qalla amaniidi soo smmi bides.
Jesus says to him, “Go; your son lives.” Well the man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him and off he went.
51 Izi soo bishshn iza ahskkarati izara ogen gagidi “ne nazi paxideskoo.” gidi izas yootida.
Now while he was still going down his slaves met him and reported saying, “Your son lives!”
52 Shumezika nazi ay saten paxxidakoone issta zari oychchides. isstikka izazs “qama gllasappe Lapuun Saten iza michchizayssi agides” gida.
So he inquired of them the hour in which he got better. And they said to him, “Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.”
53 Naza awaykka Yesussay “ne naazi paxidees” giday he issti izass yotizza woode gidaysa eriddess. Hessa gshsha he galassfe oykkdi izine iza so asay wuri Yesussa ammidda.
So the father knew that it was at the exact hour in which Jesus told him, “Your son lives.” Both he himself and his whole household believed.
54 Hayssi malattay Yesussay Yihudappe Galila yiidi oothida nma77antho malata.
Again, coming out of Judea into Galilee, Jesus performed this second miraculous sign.
