< Yaqobeppe 3 >
1 Ta ishato intefe daroti astamarista gidopeto, gaasoykka nu astamare gididayti aadhetha pirda ekanaysa inte ereista.
Not, many teachers, become ye, my brethren, knowing that, a severer sentence, shall ye receive;
2 Nu wurikka daro miishan dhuphetoos. Hasa7an dhuphetontadey dikko izi ba asateth loo7athi naganaas danda7iza kumetha asakko.
For, oft, are we stumbling, one and all: If anyone, in word, doth not stumble, the same, is a mature man, able to curb even the whole body.
3 Nuni parazota azazanaas bixxala barsidi nu koyda mala istta azazoos.
Now, if, the horses bits, into their mouths, we thrust, to the end they may be yielding to us, their whole body also, do we turn about.
4 Woykko ane markabista xeelite. Ay gitatanne carikon lagetizayta gidikokka marikabe lagiizadey qeeri laafa laagiza misheyira ba koyizaso efees.
Lo! the ships also, large as they are, and, by rough winds, driven along, are turned about by a very small helm, whithersoever the impulse of the steersman inclineth.
5 Hessathokka asatetha garisan inxxarisi guuthu gida utada giita wollqama oothoro oothoristaysu, qeeri tamay gita wora wostti xuuggi dhaysiizakonne ane yuushi qoppiite.
So, also, the tongue, is, a little member, and yet, of great things, maketh boast. Lo! how small a fire, kindleth, how great a forest;
6 Inxxarasikka ba bagara tama malakko. Nu asatetha gidon diza iitta alamekko. Asatetha wursa tuniisaysunne asatetha bolla tama gujawusu, besiika gaaname taman xugistana. (Geenna )
And, the tongue, is a fire, —[as], the world of unrighteousness, the tongue, becometh fixed among our members, that which defileth the whole body and setteth on fire the wheel of our natural life, and is set on fire, by gehenna! (Geenna )
7 Mehey do7ayka kafoti hayssathokka biita bolla gochetizaytinne abba gidon diza medhetethata wursi asi harana danda7esinne istikka haraettida.
For, every nature—both of wild beasts and of birds, both of reptiles and of things in the sea, is to be tamed, and hath been tamed, by the human nature;
8 Gido attin inxxars haranaas danda7ida uray oonikka dena. Wodhiiza maridzdzey izin kumidaronne iza shemppa ekontta iitta mishshikko.
But, the tongue, none of mankind can, tame, —A restless mischief! Full of deadly poison
9 Nuni nu inxxarasayra Godanne Aawa anjjoos. Izinkka Xoossa lemison medhetida asa nayta zaaridi qangoos.
Therewith, are we blessing our Lord and Father, and, therewith, we are cursing the men who, after the likeness of God, have been brought into being!
10 Anjjoynne qangethi issi duunara keezes. Ta ishato hessi hessaththo hananaas bessena.
Out of the same mouth, come forth blessing and cursing! Not meet, my brethren, for, these things, thus, to be coming to pass!
11 Issi pullto ollafe mal7o haththinne camo haththi pullti erizee?
Doth, the fountain, out of the same opening, teem forth the sweet and the bitter?
12 Ta ishato Balase geetettiza miiththi woyra ayfe woykko woyine miiththi Balase miiththa ayfe ayfanaas danda7ize? Hesathokka camiza hathefe mall7iza haththi bistana danda7ena.
Is it possible, my brethren, for, a fig-tree, to produce, olives, or, a vine, figs? Neither can, salt, water yield, sweet.
13 Inte garathafe akekara diza ciincca uray oone? cinccay diza gidiko ane ba ootho ashketethan cinccatethara ba loo7o dussan besso.
Who is wise and well-instructed among you? Let him show, out of his comely behaviour, his works, in meekness of wisdom.
14 Qasse camonne qaanatey intena xalala dosiza hanoy inte wozinan diza giikko ootoroteth intes siyetofo. Tumaka kadopiite.
But, if, bitter jealousy, ye have, and rivalry, in your hearts; be not boasting and showing yourselves false against the truth!
15 Hiini mala eratethiya salloppe gidiku. Hina qasse biittafe; ashopene xala7eppekko.
This wisdom is not one, from above, coming down, but is earthly, born of the soul, demoniacal!
16 qanateyinne berika bena siqqoy dizason wasoynne iitta oothoy wuri dees.
For, where jealousy and rivalry are, there, are anarchy and every ignoble deed.
17 Sallope gidida eratethiya gidikko koyro geshshikko, guyepekka saroteth dosizaro, danda7izaaro, ero gizaro, marotethinne loo7o ayfey kumidarokko. Qasse worodo madontaronne ulon geney bayndaro.
But, the wisdom from above, is—first pure, then peaceable, reasonable, easy to be entreated, fraught with mercy and good fruits, without partiality, without hypocrisy.
18 Saroteth dosiza asati sarotethan zeridi xillotetha ayfe maxeettes.
And, in harvest of righteousness, with peace, is sown by them that make peace.
