< Yaqobeppe 2 >
1 Ta ishato inte bonchettida Goda Yesussa Kiristosa ammanizayta gidida mala asse besontta ogera maadofiite.
My brothers, stop holding the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Glory, with partiality!
2 Worqqa yiich biradhen aaththdi loo7o mayo mayida asi inte shiqqizaso yiikko hessathokka qiita mayo mayidadey he shiqqizaso yiko qaseka hara qiita mayo mayda manqqo uray gelliko loo7o maydaysa duma boncho bonchidi “nees besiiza loo7o utizaso hessa beya” giidi hayinko manqqoza qasse “Ne hen hessan eqa, woykko haa ya ta garisan hugen uta” inte gikko;
For if a man with a gold ring, in fine clothes, should enter your synagogue, and a poor man in filthy rags should also enter,
and you pay special attention to the one wearing the fine clothes and say to him, “You sit in this special seat,” but to the poor one you say, “You stand there,” or “Sit here at my footstool,”
4 Inte inte garsan besontta maado oothista gideketi? Qasseka inte iitta qofan ooykittida iitta pirda piirdizayta gideketi?
have you not been separated among yourselves and become judges with malignant thoughts?
5 Ta siiqo ishato ane siyte; isti ammanon durista gidana mala Xoossi bena dosizaytas ufayssan isttas immida kawotetha istti laattana mala hayssa ha alamezan diza manqota dooribeynee?
Listen, my beloved brothers. Has not God chosen the poor of the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom that He has promised to those loving Him?
6 Inte qase manqota kawusheista. Intena waysiza durista gidetene? Intena piirdeso gochizay istta gidetenee?
But you dishonored the poor one. Do not the rich oppress you and drag you into courts?
7 Intenan xeygetida boncho Xoossa sunththa zigirizayti ista gidetenee?
Do they not blaspheme the noble name that was called upon you?
8 Maxaafan “Ne lagge ne hu7e mala siiqa” geeteti xaafettida kawo woga inte polikko loo7o oothista.
If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you do well;
9 Inte besonta maado madikko nagara oothista. woga sinthanka inte woga yedhidade gidi qodistana.
but if you show partiality, you commit sin, being convicted by the law as transgressors.
10 Gaasoykka woga wursi pollizadey qasekka wogape issineyin dhuphetiza uray wursikka moridade mala qoodettees.
For whoever will keep the whole law, yet stumble in one point, has become guilty of all.
11 “Laymatopa” gidadey izikka zaaridi “wodhopa” gides. Ne laymatontta agikokka ne asa wodhikko wogape adhiidade gidaassa.
Because He who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not murder.” Now if you do not commit adultery, but you do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law.
12 Inte hasa7a hasa7ishe woykko issi miishshi oothishe intena xiillisiza asa mala gidite.
Speak and act as being those who are about to be judged by a law of liberty
13 Gaasoykka marontay wurikka maroy baynda pirdistana. Maroy pirda Xoonees.
(the judgment will be without mercy to the one not showing mercy). That law exalts mercy over judgment.
14 Ta ishato issi uray taas ammanoy dees gikko qasse oothon besontade gidikko iza ay maadanee? Hesamala amanoy iza ashane?
What is the advantage, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? That faith cannot save him, can it?
15 Ane qoppite, issi ishay woykko issi michiya mayoy woykko mizayssi baynda aggiko intefe isadey “Inte saron biite, intena megopo, kallite” giiko istta ashos koshizayssa immontta aggikko ay maadanee?
If a brother or sister is actually naked, and is destitute of the daily food,
and someone among you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you (pl) do not give them the things needed for the body, what is the benefit?
17 Hesathokka oothoy baynda ammanoykka bees hayidayssa.
Thus also that faith, if it does not have works, is dead, being by itself.
18 Gido attin isadey “Taas oothoy dees nees ammanoy dees. Neni ne ammano oothope shaakada tana bessa, ta qasse ta ammano oothon nena bessana gikko;
(But someone will say: “You have faith and I have works. Show me your faith by your works and I, by my works will show you my faith [what he believes].”
19 Ne “issi Xoossi dizaysa ammanayss” loo7oko; daydanthatikka hessa mala ammanettesinne kehi kokoreetes.
You believe that God is one. You do well. The demons also believe—and shudder!)
20 Neno eeyazo! oothoy baynda ammanos go7ay bayndayssa eranas marikka koyazii?
But you need to know, you foolish fellow, that faith without works is dead!
21 Nu Aawa Abramey ba na Yisaqa yarshizasoza bolla shiishshida wode oothon xilli beynee?
Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar?
22 Hessan ammanoy iza oothora isife dizaysanne amanoy ooothon poletidayssa beyazii?
You can see that faith was acting together with his works, and the faith was made complete by the works.
23 “Abramey Xoossu ammanides; He amanoy izas xiillotethan qoodetides” giza maxaafa qaalay poletides; izikka Xoossi dosidade geetettides.
And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “So Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called ‘friend of God’.
24 Hessa gish asi ammanon xalala gidontta oothonkka xiillizaysa inte beyeista.
You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.
25 Hesathokka laymman diza Era7aba kiiteti bida asata mokka ekada hara ogera moyza yedida gish ba oothon xiillabeykee?
Similarly, was not Rahab the prostitute also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out by a different way?
26 Shemppofe shaakettida ashoy hayqeeth gidida mala oothopekka shaakettida ammanoy hayqethikko.
For just as the body without spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.
