1 Hessi malke-xedeqey saleme kawone Xoossa qesseko; Izika Abiramey kawota oli xoonidi simmishin demmidi Abirame anjjides.
For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of God Most High, who met Abraham turning back from the striking of the kings, and blessed him,
2 Abirameykabess diza wurisofe tammu kushepe issi kushe izas immides. Koyro iza sunthas birshechi “Xiillo kawo” guusako. Kaallidi qasse “Saleme kawo” guusi “sarotetha kawo” guusuko.
to whom also Abraham divided a tenth of all (first, indeed, being interpreted, “King of righteousness,” and then also, “King of Salem,” which is, King of Peace),
3 Izas Ayaka Aawayka woykko iza yeletethas zarikeyka baawa. Izi ayde yeletidi, ayde hayqidakone eretibynna. Izas doomethine wurisethi baawa. Gido attin Xoossa na mala medhinas izi qesse gididi dess.
without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, and having been like the Son of God, remains a priest continually.
4 Ane inte izi aymala gitakone qopite. Haray attoshin Aawatas wurisos koyroy Abiramey ba di7i ekkidayssa wurisofe tammafe issa kessi immides.
And see how great this one [is], to whom Abraham the patriarch also gave a tenth out of the best of the spoils,
5 Isttas qessetethi immetida Lewe nayti istta ishati Abirame zerethata gidikkoka derape hessika ba ishatape tammafe issa ekkana mala isttas wogan azazetides.
and those, indeed, out of the sons of Levi receiving the priesthood, have a command to take tithes from the people according to the Law, that is, their brothers, even though they came forth out of the loins of Abraham;
6 Hayssa ha addeza zerethi Lewe zereth gidena. Gido attin izi Abiramepe tammafe issa ekkides. Kase izas ufayssa qaalay immetida Abirame anjjides.
and he who was not reckoned by genealogy of them, received tithes from Abraham, and he has blessed him having the promises,
7 Bayray kaallo anjjizayss wogako.
and apart from all controversy, the less is blessed by the better—
8 Issi baggara tammafe issa ekkizayti hayqizaytako. Hara baggara qasse tammafe issa ekkizadey hayqontta paxa diza mala izas marikatidadey malke-xedeqeko.
and here, indeed, men who die receive tithes, and there [he] who is testified to that he was living,
9 Haray attoshin Leweyka Abirame baggara tammafe issa kessides gaanas danda7etes.
and so to speak, through Abraham even Levi who is receiving tithes, has paid tithes,
10 Gaasoyka malke-xedeqey Abirame gaagiza wode Lewey buro ba Aawa Abiramepe yeletibeyna.
for he was yet in the loins of the father when Melchizedek met him.
11 Paacey baynda poloy bettidayne wogay derezas immetiday Lewe qesetetha mala gididako Aaroone mala gidontta Malke-xedeqe shuumetetha malay hara qessey yaanas aazas koshidee?
If indeed, then, perfection were through the Levitical priesthood—for the people under it had received law—what further need, according to the order of Melchizedek, for another priest to arise, and not to be called according to the order of Aaron?
12 Qessetetha zarikey laametiza wode wogayka laamistanasi attontta miisheko.
For the priesthood being changed, of necessity also, a change comes of the Law,
13 Hessi wurikka izas yootetida qessey izi hara zerethiko. Iza zereththafe ooinka yarshoson oothi erizadey baawa.
for He of whom these things are said in another tribe has had part, of whom no one gave attendance at the altar,
14 Ne Goday Yuda baggafe yidayssi tumoko. Musey qessista gishshi yootishe ha zeretha gishshi yootidayssi issi mishshika baawa.
for [it is] evident that out of Judah has arisen our Lord, in regard to which tribe Moses spoke nothing concerning priesthood.
15 Malke-xedeqe malay hara qessey dendiko nu kase yootida yoy daro qoncce gidena.
And it is yet more abundantly most evident, if according to the likeness of Melchizedek there arises another priest,
16 Izi qesse gididay dhayontta deyo wolqan attin zereththafe yida wogafe gidena.
who did not come according to the law of a fleshly command, but according to the power of an endless life,
17 Izas hizgi markatides “Ne Malke-xedeqe shuumetetha mala medhinas qesseko” (aiōn )
for He testifies, “You [are] a priest—throughout the age, according to the order of Melchizedek”; (aiōn )
18 Kase azazoy laafane go7ontayssa gidida gishshi attides.
for an annulling indeed comes of the command going before because of its weakness, and unprofitableness
19 Wogay oonaka geeshanas danda7ontta gishshi nu Xoossa achchi shiiqanas izape adhdhiza hara ufayssi nuusu yides.
(for nothing did the Law perfect), and the bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God.
20 Hessika caaqoy baynda hanbeyna. Hanko Qesse gididayti caaqoy bayndaytako.
And inasmuch as [it is] not apart from oath
21 Izi gidiko qessetetha caaqon ekkides. Gaasoyka Xoossi iza gishshi hizigides “Goday caaqides, ba qofa izi laamena, (Ne medhinas qesse.”) (aiōn )
(for those indeed apart from oath have become priests, and He [became priest] with an oath through Him who is saying to Him, “The LORD swore, and will not regret, You [are] a priest throughout the age, according to the order of Melchizedek”), (aiōn )
22 Hessa mala caaqope dendidayssan Yesusay hessafe adhdhiza caaqo qaalas waase giddies.
by so much also has Jesus become guarantee of a better covenant,
23 Kase qesseti ba oothon sinthe gujjontta mala hayqoy istta digida gishshi qooday isttas darooko.
and those indeed are many who have become priests, because by death they are hindered from remaining;
24 Yesusay gidiko medhinas dizade gidida gishshi iza qessetethi shaaretontta qessetethiko. (aiōn )
and He, because of His remaining throughout the age, has the inviolable priesthood, (aiōn )
25 Hessa gishshi izi istta gigissana cimatishe wuriso wode hayqontta paxa eqqi diza gishshi iza baggara Xoossako yizayta wursi ashanas danda7es.
from where also He is able to save to the very end, those coming through Him to God—ever living to make intercession for them.
26 Hessa gishshi nuusi koshshsiza qeessista halaqay hessa mala geeshine wothoy iza bolla baynda xiillone nagaranchatape shaaketidi salotape bollara bonchetida qessata halaqako.
For also such a Chief Priest was fitting for us—holy, innocent, undefiled, separate from the sinners, and having become higher than the heavens,
27 Izi hanko qessata halaqata mala koyro ba nagara gishshi qasseka kaalethidi hanko dereza nagara gishshi gallas gallas yarsho shiishanas iza koshshena. Izi bena aathi immida wode asa nagara gishshi issi too sinththa baggassara yarsho wu wursi polides.
who has no daily necessity, as the chief priests, to first offer up sacrifice for His own sins, then for those of the people; for this He did once, having offered up Himself;
28 Wogay daburancha asata qessatas waana halaqa hisiti shuumes. Wogape kaallidi yida caaqo qaalay gidiko medhinas iza bolla wothoy baynda naaza shuumides. (aiōn )
for the Law appoints men [as] chief priests, having weakness, but the word of the oath that [is] after the Law [appoints] the Son having been perfected throughout the age. (aiōn )
