1 “Ta ishato, ta aawato ta bolla wordo wothidayssas ta intes immiza maliththe siyite!”
૧‘ભાઈઓ તથા વડીલો, હવે હું મારા બચાવમાં જે પ્રત્યુત્તર તમને આપું છે તે સાંભળો.’”
2 Izi Isra7eele nayta qaalara hasa7ishin siyidi kasepe asay coou gides; Phawulossaykka hasao gujjidi hizzgides.
૨તેને હિબ્રૂ ભાષામાં બોલતો સાંભળીને તેઓએ વધારે શાંતિ જાળવી; ત્યારે પાઉલે કહ્યું કે,
3 “Tani kilqqiya garssan diza Xerssese kaataman yeelettida Ayhuda asa; Ta dicciday gidikko haanno yerussalamenkko; Ta nu aawata woga ubbaa Gammalyyaleppe lo7etha tamaaradissene inte hachchi ooththizayssatho Xoossas suure wozinape ooththashe deyadis.
૩‘હું યહૂદી માણસ છું, કિલીકિયાના તાર્સસમાં જન્મેલો, પણ આ શહેરના ગમાલીએલના ચરણમાં ઊછરેલો, આપણા પૂર્વજોના નિયમ પ્રમાણે ચુસ્ત રીતે શીખેલો, અને અત્યારે તમે સર્વ જેવા ઈશ્વર વિષે ઝનૂની છો તેવો હું પણ હતો.
4 Hayssa ha oggeza kaalliza asata wursia wodhdhana gakkanaas Godaaththiza asakkoshin; maccatane addista qachcha qachcha qachcho keeth yeedizadekoshin.
૪વળી હું આ માર્ગના પુરુષોને તેમ જ સ્ત્રીઓને બાંધીને જેલમાં નાખીને તેઓને મરણ પામતા સુધી સતાવતો હતો.
5 Haysi wuri tumu gididayssa qeessista halaqqatine dere cimmatkka wuri tas markkatana; haray attoshin Damasqqon diza ammaniza asa qachch Yerusalame ehada qaxxayssanas Damasqqon dizaytas xaahaaththaetida debbidabe qeeseta halaqatappenne dere cimmatappe ekkadis” gides.
૫પ્રમુખ યાજક તથા આખો વડીલ વર્ગ (એ વિષે) મારા સાક્ષી છે; વળી એમની પાસેથી ભાઈઓ ઉપર પત્ર લઈને હું દમસ્કસ જવા નીકળ્યો, એ માટે કે જેઓ ત્યાં હતા તેઓને પણ બાંધીને શિક્ષા કરવા સારુ યરુશાલેમમાં લાવું.
6 Tani damasqqo bishinine kaatama gelana matishin seeta gallas ta qoppontta dishin salope wolqama poo7oy tana yuuy adhdhi poo7ides.
૬હું ચાલતાં ચાલતાં દમસ્કસ પાસે પહોંચ્યો, ત્યારે એમ થયું કે લગભગ મધ્યાહને મારી આસપાસ આકાશથી એકાએક મોટો પ્રકાશ ચમક્યો.
7 He wode tani biita bolla kunddada Sawulle! Sawulle! ne tana aazas gooddazi? giza qaala siyadis.
૭ત્યારે હું જમીન પર પડી ગયો, અને મારી સાથે બોલતી હોય એવી એક વાણી મેં સાંભળી કે, શાઉલ, શાઉલ, તું મને કેમ સતાવે છે?
8 Takka (Godo ne oonne?) gadiis; Izikka (ta neni gooddiza naazerete Yesussakko) gides.
૮ત્યારે મેં ઉત્તર આપ્યો કે, પ્રભુ, તમે કોણ છો? તેમણે મને કહ્યું કે, ‘હું ઈસુ નાઝારી છું, જેને તું સતાવે છે.’”
9 Tanara isfe diza asati poo7oza beeyida attin izi tanara hasaishin qaala siyabeyitena.
૯મારી સાથે જે હતા તેઓએ તે પ્રકાશ જોયો તો ખરો, પણ મારી સાથે બોલનારની વાણી તેઓએ સાંભળી નહી.
10 Takka (Godo ta ayy ooso? Gadis; Godaykka (denddada Damasqqo ba, ne ooththanayssa isti nees hen yootana) gides.
૧૦ત્યારે મેં કહ્યું કે, પ્રભુ હું શું કરું? ‘પ્રભુએ મને કહ્યું કે, ઊઠીને દમસ્કસમાં જા, જે સઘળું તારે કરવાનું નિયત કરાયેલું છે તે વિષે ત્યાં તને કહેવામાં આવશે.
11 Poo7oza xolliqqetetha daroope dendidayssan ta xeelanas dandda7abeykke; tanara diza asati ta kushe oykki gochchidi tana Damasqqo gaththida.
૧૧તે પ્રકાશના તેજના કારણથી હું જોઈ શક્યો નહિ, માટે મારા સાથીઓના હાથ પકડીને હું દમસ્કસમાં આવ્યો.
12 hananiya geetettiza issadey hen dees; Hananiyay Damasqqon diza Ayhudata achchan daroo gallatetidadenne wogga bonchiza asa.
૧૨અનાન્યા નામે એક માણસ નિયમશાસ્ત્રને આધારે ચાલનારો ઈશ્વરભક્ત હતો, જેના વિષે ત્યાં રહેનારા સઘળા યહૂદીઓ સારું બોલતા હતા.
13 Izi ta achch shiiq eqqidi (ta isha sawulle ne ayfey qassekka xeello) gides; Herakka ta ayfey iza xeelladis.
૧૩તે મારી પાસે આવ્યો, તેણે મારી બાજુમાં ઊભા રહીને મને કહ્યું કે, ‘ભાઈ શાઉલ, તું દેખતો થા.’ અને તે જ ઘડીએ દેખતો થઈને મેં તેને જોયો.
14 Izikka tana hizzgides (nu aawantta xoossay ne iza sheene errana mala iza xiilloza ne beeyana malane izi gizayssa ne siyana mala nena kasseti doorides.
૧૪પછી તેણે કહ્યું કે, ‘આપણા પૂર્વજોના ઈશ્વરે તેમની સેવા માટે તને પસંદ કર્યો છે કે, તું તેમની ઇચ્છા જાણે, તે ન્યાયીને જુએ અને તેમના મુખની વાણી સાંભળે.
15 Izi hessa ooththiday ne beeyidayssane siydayssa asa wurso sinththan izas ne markkatanaskko.
૧૫કેમ કે જે તેં જોયું છે, અને સાંભળ્યું છે, તે વિષે સર્વ લોકોની આગળ તું તેમનો સાક્ષી થશે.
16 Histtin ha7i aazas gamm7azi denddada iza sunththu xeeyigada xammaqista, ne nagarapekka meccista.)
૧૬હવે તું કેમ ઢીલ કરે છે? ઊઠ અને તેમના નામની પ્રાર્થના કરીને બાપ્તિસ્મા લે, તારાં પાપોની ક્ષમા પામ.
17 Hessafe guye ta Yerusalame simmada Xoossa keeththan wossishin ajjutay tas beettides.
૧૭પછી એમ થયું કે હું યરુશાલેમમાં પાછો આવ્યો અને ભક્તિસ્થાનમાં પ્રાર્થના કરતો હતો, એવામાં મૂર્છાગત થઈ ગયો,
18 Godaykka tas qonccidi “ne ta gish immana markkateth istti ekkontta gish ne gammi7ontta dashe Yerussalamepe ellela keeza!” gides.
૧૮(પ્રભુએ) મને દર્શન દઈને કહ્યું કે, ‘ઉતાવળ કર, અને યરુશાલેમથી વહેલો નીકળ, કેમ કે મારા વિષે તારી સાક્ષી તેઓ માનશે નહિ.’”
19 Takka izas hizzgadis “Godo ta Ayhudata wossa keethati dizaso ba baada nena ammanizayta wursia qachchada istta bukkidayssa ba baggara isttikka erretes.
૧૯ત્યારે મેં કહ્યું કે, ‘પ્રભુ, તેઓ પોતે જાણે છે કે તારા પર વિશ્વાસ કરનારાઓને હું જેલમાં નાખતો હતો, દરેક ભક્તિસ્થાનમાં તેઓને મારતો હતો;
20 Ne gish markkatiza Isxxifanose asay wodhdhiza wode takka he wohdhiza asata achchan eqqada istti wodhdhizayssa takka dosadissenne wodhdhizayta mayookka nagadis.
૨૦તમારા સાક્ષી સ્તેફનનું લોહી વહેવડાવવામાં આવ્યું ત્યારે હું પણ પાસે ઊભો હતો, અને તે કામમાં રાજી હતો, તેને મારી નાખનારાઓના વસ્ત્રો હું સાચવતો હતો.’”
21 Godaykka (Hahoon diza Ayhude gironta asakko ta nena kittiza gish denddada ba) gides.”
૨૧ત્યારે તેમણે મને કહ્યું કે, ‘તું ચાલ્યો જા, કેમ કે હું તને અહીંથી દૂર બિનયહૂદીઓની પાસે મોકલી દઈશ.’”
22 Asay hinno gakkanaas Phawulossa hasa7a wozinappe loo7ethi siyishe aggidi ba qaala dhoqqu histtidi “hayssa mala asi nu biitafe dhayo, hayssa mala asi nu biitan shemppora danas bessena” gishshe wassides.
૨૨તેઓએ તેની વાત સાંભળી, પછી બૂમ પાડીને કહ્યું કે, ‘એવા માણસને પૃથ્વી પરથી દૂર કરો, કેમ કે એ જીવવા યોગ્ય નથી.
23 Asay wassishe ba mayoo qarri qarri wuxxishene biita puude salo dharccides.
૨૩તેઓ બૂમ પાડતા, તથા પોતાના ઝભ્ભા ઉછાળતા, તથા પવનમાં ધૂળ ઉડાવતા હતા;
24 Ola asa azazizaysi hessa beeyidi Phawulossa wotadarati dizaso gellithana mala azazides; Deereykka iza bolla aazas hessa mala wassizakko errana mala iza garafidi paxxisana mala azazides.
૨૪ત્યારે સરદારે તેને કિલ્લામાં લાવવાની આજ્ઞા કરી, તેઓએ કયા કારણ માટે તેની સામે એવી બૂમ પાડી, તે જાણવા સારુ તેને કોરડા મારીને તપાસ કરવાનું ફરમાવ્યું.
25 Gido attin dafon waxxi qachchidi iza garahaaththaana gigeetishin Phawulossay ba achchan eqqida issi xeetu wotadarata hallaqas “Rome as gidazade pirday bayinida garehaaththaanas intes fiiqadey dize?” gides.
૨૫તેઓએ તેને ચામડાના દોરડાથી બાંધ્યો, ત્યારે પાઉલે પાસે ઊભેલા સૂબેદારને કહ્યું કે, ‘જે માણસ રોમન છે, તથા ગુનેગાર ઠરાવવામાં આવ્યો નથી, તેને તમારે કોરડા મારવા શું કાયદેસર છે?’
26 Xeetu wotadarata hallaqay hessa siyida mala gede halaqata azazizayssakko biidi “ay ooththana gaaz? haysi addezi Rome asakko” gides.
૨૬સૂબેદારે તે સાંભળ્યું એટલે તેણે જઈને સરદારને જણાવીને કહ્યું કે, ‘તું શું કરવા માગે છે? એ માણસ તો રોમન છે.’”
27 Hessa gish halaqata azazizayssi Phawulossako shiiqidi “ane taas yoota, ne Rome ase?” gides; Izikka “Ee ta Rome asa” gides.
૨૭ત્યારે સરદારે આવીને તેને કહ્યું કે, ‘મને કહે, તું શું રોમન છે?’ પાઉલે કહ્યું, ‘હા.’”
28 Azazizayssikka “ta Rome asa gidanas daroo mishshe qanxxada shaammadis” giin Phawulossay “tani gidiko Romen yeellistadis” gides.
૨૮ત્યારે સરદારે ઉત્તર દીધો કે, ‘મોટી રકમ ચૂકવીને આ નાગરિકતાનો હક મેં ખરીદ્યો છે. પણ પાઉલે કહ્યું કે, ‘હું તો જન્મથી જ (નાગરિક) છું.’”
29 Hessa gish iza marimaranas gigettida asati herakka iza achchafe hakkida; azazizayssikka izi Rome as sanththalatan qachchidayssa yuushsh qoppidi babbides.
૨૯ત્યારે જેઓ તેની તપાસ કરવાને તૈયાર હતા, તેઓ તરત તેને મૂકીને ચાલ્યા ગયા; અને તે રોમન છે, એ જાણ્યાંથી તથા પોતે તેને બંધાવ્યો હતો તેથી સરદાર પણ ડરી ગયો.
30 Wonttetha gallas azazizayssi Ayudati Phawulossa motiza ayfe yooy azakone erranas koyides; qessista hallaqatine Ayhudata shengeo dulata asay wuri issadeykka attontta kumeth shiiqana mala azazides; Phawulossakka qashoppe birshidi shiiqida asa sinthth shishshi esides.
૩૦યહૂદીઓ શા કારણથી તેના પર દોષ મૂકે છે એ નિશ્ચે જાણવા ચાહીને તેણે બીજે દિવસે તેનાં બંધનો છોડ્યાં; મુખ્ય યાજકોને તથા તેઓની આખી ન્યાયસભાને હાજર થવાને આજ્ઞા આપી, પછી તેણે પાઉલને લાવીને તેઓની આગળ ઊભો રાખ્યો.
