1 Hessa gish, ta naazo neni Goda Yesuss Kiristtoossa kiyatethan miinna.
Thou therefore, my child, be strengthened in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
2 Daro markkata sinththan ne taappe siyidayssa harata tamarssanas danddaizaytassine imettida asatas hadara imma.
And the things which thou hast heard from me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
3 Yesuss Kiristtoossas ammanettida loo7o woottadara mala tanara meto eekka.
Suffer hardship with [me], as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.
4 Woottadaratethan oothizadey ba hallaqqa uhaaththaayssanas dafettes attin hara bena qaxethiza oothon gelli erena.
No soldier on service entangleth himself in the affairs of [this] life; that he may please him who enrolled him as a soldier.
5 Hessathokka gaade wooxxizadey wooththa wooga naagontta wooxxiko xoono akiillile ekkena.
And if also a man contend in the games, he is not crowned, except he have contended lawfully.
6 Gooba gooshshanchay ba goyi keessida kaatha xeera mizade gidanas beesses.
The husbandman that laboreth must be the first to partake of the fruits.
7 Ta nees gizayssa ne wozinan wootha siyiko Goday nees yoo wursson akekka immana.
Consider what I say; for the Lord shall give thee understanding in all things.
8 Hayqqope denddida dawute zerethth gidida Yesuss Kiristtoossa qopa; ta yootiza miishshiracho qaalaykka hessakko.
Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, of the seed of David, according to my gospel:
9 Hessa geedon iita oothida asa mala qachchettana gakkanaas waaye beeyayss. Gido atin Xoossa qaalay qachchettena.
wherein I suffer hardship unto bonds, as a malefactor; but the word of God is not bound.
10 Hessa gish kiristtoossa baggara diza atottethinne medhdhina boncho deemmana doorettidayta gish gaada wurssakka dandda7adis. (aiōnios g166)
Therefore I endure all things for the elect’s sake, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. (aiōnios g166)
11 Nu izara isfe hayqqikko qasse nu izara deyoon daana.
Faithful is the saying: For if we died with him, we shall also live with him:
12 Dandda7an miinniko nu izara kawootana. nu iza kaadikko izikka nuna kaadana.
if we endure, we shall also reign with him: if we shall deny him, he also will deny us:
13 Nu izas ammanetonttayta giidikko izi medhdhinas ammanettida mala daana. izi berkka bena kaadana dandda7ena geetettida qaalay ammanettidayssa.
if we are faithless, he abideth faithful; for he cannot deny himself.
14 Hayta ha yoota gish asa qofisiso aggopa. asay ba garssan issay issara qaala geedon paalametontta mala Xoossa sunththan zora. Hessa mala yooy siyizayta moores.
Of these things put them in remembrance, charging [them] in the sight of the Lord, that they strive not about words, to no profit, to the subverting of them that hear.
15 Tumu Xoossa qaala yootizadene yeellachontta oothanchane asi ne gish loo7o markkattizade gidada nenateth wurssa Xoossa sinthth shiishshanas minna.
Give diligence to present thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, handling aright the word of truth.
16 Coo mela duuna lalabetteththafe haakka. Hessa mala yoon waaxxettida asati Xoossafe haakki haakki beettes.
But shun profane babblings: for they will proceed further in ungodliness,
17 Istta timirttey sakkidi paxxontta gede gujji gujji daakketi biza madunththa malako. Heemenewoossane filxxoossa geetettizayti hessa mala timirtte tamarizayta garssan deettes.
and their word will eat as doth a gangrene: of whom is Hymenæus and Philetus;
18 Heyti tumateththape haakkidi coo mela waayetes. isttikka hayqqope denththi hayssafe kase hani adhdhides giidi issi issi asa ammano guye shiri yeeggettes.
men who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already, and overthrow the faith of some.
19 Gido attin “Goday bees gidizayta erees” qassekka “Goda sunththu xeeyigizay wuri iitape haakko” giza maatamey iza bolla diza laamettontta Xoossa koyro qofay laametibeyina.
Howbeit the firm foundation of God standeth, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his: and, Let every one that nameth the name of the Lord depart from unrighteousness.
20 Issi gita keeththan worqqafene birape xaalla oothetidayti doontta miiththafene urqqafe oothetidayti dizayssatho heytanttafekka baggayti boncho oothos baggayti qass hiraaysso oothos ekkettettes.
Now in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some unto honor, and some unto dishonor.
21 Hessa gish oonkka hayta ta gida iita yootape bena geeshshiko he asi boncho oothosu gidizaadene anjjettidade, Goda goizaddene loo7o oothos giigettidade gidana.
If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honor, sanctified, meet for the master’s use, prepared unto every good work.
22 Paanththatetha iita amotethafe baqqata. Geeshsha wozinara Goda xeeyigiza asatara xiilloteth, ammano, siiqqone saroteth kaalla.
But flee youthful lusts, and follow after righteousness, faith, love, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
23 Go7ayine birshechi bayindda paalammape haakka. Ayss giikko hessantta malay ooshshu kaalleththizayssa ne eraassa.
But foolish and ignorant questionings refuse, knowing that they gender strifes.
24 Goda oothanchay asara oyeettanas beessena. Hessafe asa wursso achchan kiya, asi tamarsanas dandda7izadene miino as gidanas beesses.
And the Lord’s servant must not strive, but be gentle towards all, apt to teach, forbearing,
25 Izi benara eqqetiza asata ashshsiketethara oykkizade gidsanas beesses. Oonne erizay istti tuma erna mala xoossay isttas maarettanas wode immana danddaes.
in meekness correcting them that oppose themselves; if peradventure God may give them repentance unto the knowledge of the truth,
26 Hesskka istti yuushi qoopi siimmidi iza shene kunththana mala istta di7i efida xaalae narqqafe istti keessi ekkana.
and they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him unto his will.
