2 Qoronttosa 7

1 Hessa gishshi ta siiqoto! hayssi hidotay nuusu immetida gishshi ashone ayana tunissiza ay miishafeka ane nuna geeshosu. Xoossas yashan nu geeshatetha ane kumeth histoosu.

Having therefore these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

2 Inte nuna ufayssan mokki ekkite. Nuni oonaka qohibeykko; Oonaka naaqibeykko; Oonna go7aka nuusu balethi ekkibeykko;

Make room for us; we have wronged no one, we have corrupted no one, we have exploited no one.

3 Tani hessaththo gizay inte bolla piridanas gidena. Hayssafe kase ta intes yootida mala inte nu wozinan deista. Hessa gishshi hayqonkka gidin paxankka wurso wode nu intefe shaaketoko.

I do not say this to condemn you; I have said before that you are in our hearts, whether to die together or to live together.

4 Taas inte bolla diza ammanoy daro gitako. Taas inte bolla diza ceeqeteth gitako. Ta intenan ministayss. Nuna gakkiza meto wurson tani keeha ufa7istayss.

I have great confidence in you; I do a lot of boasting about you. I am filled with encouragement, overflowing with joy in spite of all our affliction.

5 Nuni Maqidooniya gakkida wodeka duma duma baggara metoy nuna gakkides attin nuni aykoka shempo demibeykko. Nuusu soora hirigay, karera qass ooshi dees.

Now indeed, when we came into Macedonia we had no physical rest, but were surrounded by affliction—conflicts on the outside, fears on the inside.

6 Gido attin muzottidayta mintthethiza Goday Titosa yuusan nuna mintthethides.

But the God who encourages the lowly encouraged us by the coming of Titus;

7 Nuni minettiday iza yuussan xalala gidontta dishin inte iza mintthethidayssa nu guji siyida gishshiko. Inte tana laamotidayssane inte taas qadhetizayssane qopizayssaka izi nuusu yootin siyada tani daro ufa7istadis.

and not only by his coming, but also by how much he was encouraged over you as he reported to us your longing, your mourning, your zeal in my stead, so that I rejoiced even more.

8 Tani hayssafe kase intes xaafida kiitay intena michisida gidikkoka he kiita xaafida gishshi tani hessaththo aazas xaafadina gaada handatike. Modhetikoka ta handatanay guutha wodes inte tana michisida gishshiko.

Even though that letter caused you sorrow, I do not regret it (though I almost did), because I perceive that the letter made you sorry, though only for a while.

9 Ha7i gidiko ta ufa7istayss. Tani ufa7etida gaasoy tani intena michisida gishshi gidontta inte he michape dendidayssan maarotethan gelidi laametida gishshiko. Hessa gishshi inte michetikoka Xoossa shene mala gidida gishshi nuni intena aykoka qohibeyko guusuko.

Now I rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that your sorrow led to repentance. For you were made sorry as God intended, so as not to be harmed by us in any way.

10 Xoossa shene mala mishetethi gede maareti attanaso gathees. Hessasika handatethi deenna; Wozinape gidontta maareteth gidiko hayqon gathees.

Now godly sorrow produces repentance into salvation without regret, but the world's sorrow produces death.

11 Hayssi inte muuzotethay Xoossa shene mala gidida gishshi hessi ay mala minotethan, ay mala oycha zaaron, ay mala elle hanqetethan, ay mala yashatethan, ay mala laamotethan, ay mala lo7o amon, ay mala muran intena gathidakone ane inte wozinan yuushi qopite. Inte qasse handa wursonkka he hanozape geeshi gididayssa marikasidista.

Just consider your own being caused to sorrow in a godly manner, how much diligence it produced in you—what self-defense, what indignation, what alarm, what longing, what zeal, what punishment! At every point you have demonstrated yourselves to be clear in the matter.

12 Hessa gishshi ta intes xaafidayssi inte nuusu ay mala ammanetizaytakone inte intena Xoossa sintthan beyana malape attin qohidade gishshine qohetidade gishshi gaada gidenna.

So even though I wrote to you, it was not for the sake of the wrongdoer, nor for that of the victim, but, before God, so that your real commitment to us might be made clear to you.

13 Nuni minetidayssafe bollara Titosay demmida ufayssan daro ufa7etidosu. Nuni ufa7ettidayka inte wurikka Titosa mintthethida gishshine iza wozina shempisida gishshiko.

We have been encouraged by all this. Because of your encouragement, we rejoiced all the more over the joy of Titus, because his spirit has been refreshed by you all.

14 Tani intenan ceeqetizayssa kase Titosas yoota woththadis. Inteka tana yeelasibeykista. Wuriso wode ta intes tuma xalala yootashe dayss. Hessika nuni inte gishshi Titosas yootida yooy tumu gidi ammanettides.

Because wherein I boasted to him about you, I was not put to shame, but just as everything we spoke to you was true, so also our boasting to Titus proved to be true.

15 Inte wurikka azazetizayta gididayssane yashatethanine kokorishe inte iza mokki ekkidayssa Titosay qopi ekkidi izi intena siiqizayssas zaway baawa.

Also, his affection for you is all the greater, as he remembers your collective obedience as you received him with fear and trembling.

16 Taka wurso baggara intenan ammanetanas danda7ida gishshi ta daro ufa7istadis.

I am so glad that I have complete confidence in you.
